It's not that they sound different. They act different. They sound exactly the same. Your brain just distinguishes them as separate characters because of their unique personalities. I think it's also gotta do with him being a live action actor too. He's used to fully embodying his characters because everything is seen and used to tell the story. You put the same talent in a room with no cameras, they can't exactly turn that part of the acting brain off once it's trained.

It's not that they sound different. They act different. They sound exactly the same. Your brain just distinguishes them as separate characters because of their unique personalities. THAT'S what make Alan Tudyk such a great VA. Most of his characters sound the same, but they're wildly different from each other.

He's an ASTOUNDING VA! The way he portrays the image of characters is amazing, his deliveries of the character personalities to make them really pop, and the way he can control his vocal muscles for other sounds and effects is remarkable.
The mark of a good VA is being able to see the character and not the actor. He does it in strides to the point i don't even wonder who's voicing his characters half the time. I just accept it as is and forget there's an actual person behind it
I think it's also gotta do with him being a live action actor too. He's used to fully embodying his characters because everything is seen and used to tell the story. You put the same talent in a room with no cameras, they can't exactly turn that part of the acting brain off once it's trained.
I fell in love after seeing him in both Dollhouse the series (if you haven’t seen it, do it! Even though it’s old!) and Tucker & Dale vs evil! (Also hilarious and excellent!)
