10:45 Check out my video on which foods to avoid to lose belly fat!
Today I'm going to cover the top 10 foods that help you lose belly fat.
Cortisol is a stress hormone that turns protein into sugar. It causes your liver to make new sugar out of non-carbohydrate sources, such as fat, ketones and protein.
If your cortisol is really high, your body will make a lot of sugar. This increase in sugar will elevate insulin, and insulin makes belly fat. Consuming a high-carb diet and sugar, or eating too frequently can also cause your insulin to spike, leading to belly fat.
You'll typically notice belly fat after the liver is already fatty because a lot of the visceral fat around the organs comes from a spill-off of fat from the liver. So, the best foods to help you lose belly fat address lowering insulin, lowering cortisol or supporting the liver.
Ten foods that help you lose belly fat:
1. Eggs
2. Salmon
3. Cod liver and cod liver oil
4. Sauerkraut
5. Cruciferous vegetables
6. Hamburger
7. Avocados
8. Broccoli sprouts
9. Asparagus
10. Nutritional yeast (non-fortified)

    • @@engidateshale9521 How do I stay slim?. I'll try not to ramble. Breakfast: I don't always eat breakfast, its an easy one for me to skip but this morning I had a boiled egg, no toast. I don't eat bread. A cup of peppermint tea. Mid morning: A cup of black coffee, no sugar. I sometimes treat myself to a dark chocolate digestive biscuit. Lunch: Sea Bass fillet with spinach / arugula salad. A small glass of white wine. Evening meal: something light, today it was Stilton cheese salad, olives, walnuts and almonds with an olive oil dressing. That's it for the day, nothing else to eat until the following day Carbs are the Devil, I don't eat bread or potato, I eat very little pasta or rice. The other Devil to beware of is SUGAR, it is in everything we eat and drink, read labels. I have never drunk Coke etc, avoid shakes and fruit smoothies, they are sugar bombs. I guess I did ramble a bit. Hope it helps.

    • I'm now down 70lbs. I had ballooned up to 290 during the Quarantine, and I'm now down to a healthy & slim 219 at 6'2'' (which has been my typical & desired weight as an adult). I GOT MY BODY BACK!!! How: 1) Keto 2) OMAD (One meal a day) - In olive oil, I fry up small chunks of grass-fed beef with crab flakes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, mushrooms, asparagus, sliced garlic cloves, Kerrygold butter or garlic-butter, with no-salt seasonings, and then place that over a bed of lettuce in a bowl, lettuce seasoned with Bragg nutritional yeast, more no-salt seasonings, & ranch dressing, THEN, I place 3-4 Sunnyside down eggs on top of that. Season to taste. Sounds like a lot, but it's not. 3) MCT Oil in my tea, with 2 squirts of organic stevia, 2 cap fulls of lemon juice, 2 cap fulls of Bragg Citrus Ginger Apple Cider Vinegar, twice per day. 4) No sugar, or drastically reduce intake 5) Jogging 30 minutes per day or every other day (I usually take a day or two off per week). 6) Light weight training with an emphasis on abs & chest. There you have it.

Now my acid reflux barely exists and I’ve already lost 15 pounds by eating the recommended foods avoiding certain foods, eating whole lemon, including apple cider vinegar and doing the 18:6 daily fasting. I feel great, my clothes fit so much better, I have more energy, and any intermittent knee pain I used to experience has resolved completely! Thank you for the education to give me the tools I needed to ward off so many undesirable conditions!

    • Hi Magnus. I promise, if you keep going you'll feel great n reach all your health goals, God-willing. I had horrible reflux was 45 lbs overweight, had knee n hip pain, rosecea, it's all gone. I've been diluting 4 tbsps of ACV in a glass of water n consuming some lemon water daily for the past 10 months. I've only lost 20#'s, but my body composition has changed 70%. I've lost 9.5 inches of pure fat. I have waaay more energy, know what foods my body tolerates, I eat much healthier, n am more productive. All of these things, bc I hung in there. The scale lies. Please don't depend on it. Every time one fasts, SAFELY, by listening to the experts;their body composition is changing. Those who have lots to lose, lose weight faster, than those who have less to lose. I'm soo close to the,"normal BMI." I'm excited, I can't wait to reach my normal weight, God-willing. It's been a long time. My goal is less than that, but I will know when I get there. May you all reach all of your health n life goals.

  • Dr. Berg, you are allowing so many people to recognize that they can live better and have longevity. This alone, is so priceless. I have lost 5 pounds in one month because of listeningto you, and adjusting my eating and grocery buying to the information that you provide. My blood sugars have dropped from high 190's to 130, 100 to 98!!! The medicines that I were prescribed NEVER lowered my levels to those levels - EVER! There were just so many positive outcomes that I have started sharing your videos with my brother. He has not yet come around. I am living proof that what you are advising works, but we know that it is not only a physical commitment, it is also a mental one. Once the mind aligns with what is possible - then it is just a step at a time. What you offer is a change from a medicated disease state to hope and health. For me, I couldn't wait to hit the ground running!!! I truly appreciate the information that you impart on your videos. Keep up the awesome work that you are doing.

Who’s to tell someone what is healthy and isn’t healthy? I look at my grandparents, both lived over 90, and ate the complete opposite of what this guy recommends. When in history did people purposefully restrict carbs? Only until the last ~50 years did people start “creating” these “diet routines”.

  • These segments have helped me so much--leaving my Org. TOFU into "Mash potatoes" recipe here--1 block of organic Tofu with 3 tablespoons of unsweetened organic soy milk and around 5 tablespoons of organic chia seeds into a blender, blend until creamy, put that in a pan with 1/4 cup unsweetened soy milk with a tab of butter (faux butter), add spices--a little (teaspoon) of cumin (cumin changes it into tasting like mash potatoes), Tumeric, black pepper, garlic, (1/4 teaspoon of sea salt or pink salt, optional), and 1/2 teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar. Best to do little on the spices and add more, too much spices makes it taste different. Cook on low-med heat stirring until there is no liquid residue for the creamy faux mashed potatoes, tastes around 85% like authentic mashed potatoes. I am unsure if it is my recipe since I worked at a fancy health food restaurant decades ago, and may have learned about it there, but I do not recall that, and I was not in the kitchen, but it could have been on the menu and I asked about it. I eat this with sauerkraut and vegan faux wurst.
