I hate when people say "We heard Bryce instead of Stolas" in reference to the claim he didn't try hard enough to do Stolas' voice. He did Stolas' voice and accent, but much deeper. And that's because he knows what the hell he's doing. You don't want to hear a high pitched bird sing a dark, depressing song.
Lol yeah the song is incredible but at my first listen I was like ayo Stolas grew a deeper voice lol
Never got that impression. People's voices always sound a bit different in tone when they sing as opposed to when they're just talking. If you watch interviews with vocalists such as the likes of John Davis (Korn) you can tell how different one's talking voice and singing voice really are.

Plus Stolas has many voices. The high pitch fake flirtatious one, and a far deeper melancholy voice that he’s using to sing.
@@CarlosRIOS777 The former is a voice he only ever really uses when he's around Blitzo. The melancholy one is more or less his normal speaking voice. Makes sense he'd use that in any "serious" song.
The heartbreaking thing is that Blitz even talks about some of stolas's actions - like asking about his day and wanting to actually talk to him - but sees them as manipulation instead of realizing they're the opposite. I need Blitz to have a lightbulb moment SO BAD
It's funny to me that some people actually say that Blitzø doesn't love stolas. Like, have we watched the same show??? They both love eachother, but their emotions and relationship is so complicated. Thats why this is lowkey the most interesting relationship I've ever witnessed in a show like this. No other couples come CLOSE to what they have, what they went trough and how much they need eachother. Like yea Fizzarozzie is cute but will never be nowhere near as beautiful, deep, and emotional as stolitz, and they arent even confirmed endgame so that says a lot

It seems more like he's trying to convince himself that Stolas is using him and wants to validate it, but a part of him knows that isn't true. You can tell because Fizz clearly didn't care about him and Stolas outside of using it to get under his skin, but Blitz wouldn't shut up about it.

Stolas also calls out that the way he treated blitz at first kinda forced a give and take relationship which ruined a chance of growth until the asmodean crystal came into this, because once given to blitzo it would remove the point of blitzo needing Stolas. This song in terms of lote is different from the song its based on as now its Stolas hoping that even without his usefulness to blitzo with his book that blitzo will still "look his way" to save what relationship they have and make it better then what its already become
I think blitzo feels the same about stolas, but he's scared that stolas just wants to take advantage of him.
Stolas is such a beautiful, likable character. Your heart just aches for him. His entire life has been awful and yet he has such a sweet, sensitive demeanor. He’s completely broken, but he still tries to be a good parter, a good father and a loving individual.
I fully agree. There is literally no fault other than maybe that bit in Seeing Stars where he dismisses Via but thats it. Hes just a loving father who's true love is emotionally unavailable. I really hope that Blitzø can eventually let down his walls before Stolas falls out of love with him.

This song is *so* emotional. Hearing his lament as he realizes that he and Blitz have been growing cold to the other breaks my heart. But Bryce did such an awesome job with the emotions in his singing, and once again, Vivzie's animators did an astonishing job with the beautiful animation. Truly a masterpiece!

Stolas has grown so much by wanting to give Blitz a choice to stay instead of just being bound to him because of the book. But what’s terrifying is that Blitz could take it the wrong way and run from Stolas.

Yes, I’m tired of the classic, “ what is the problem with him, why is he so stubborn and I don’t understand him” trope in complicated relationships. It’s a nice breath of fresh air, that Stolas is aware of what’s happening.
I’m happy Stolas has realized what they’ve been is toxic and is working towards being better. So many toxic relationships in shows are just that, toxic, and they break up or stay toxic rather than truly working towards improvement.
Everything here is done so well! A lot of people are commenting on Bryce's amazing singing (and for good reason), but the animation is absolutely stunning as well. Specifically at around 3:00 that part where he launches himself from the water looks BEAUTIFUL. 10/10

This entire song is just 'I know I fucked up but I want to make up for it because I love you'. I just really hope that Blitz realizes Stolas really does love him, both are broken and need eachother. this is really something else, the builds, the emotion- and i like how blitz is represented in the moon through the piece in the start, he hold the moon and it orbits him, small enough to hold and feel close to, but as hes realising and actually saying these things to himself- understanding what blitz is feeling, it grows bigger, harder to grasp and then in the end being reached out to, coming so close but being unable to touch before falling further and further. this may just be my take but i think its beautiful

This just rips right into my emotions, but at the same time, it feels like we watch stolas emotionally mature with every second of the song
This has a deeper meaning after seeing the trailer for the upcoming episodes for the second half of second season. I hope Blitz can somehow fix things, at least between him and Stolas cause Stolas realized his faults in their relationship early on and has tried to be decent with Blitz, esp by giving him space. And Blitz is reading everything wrong, I mean Ik it's part of his anxiety about getting close to people and wanting to get close to people but he can't. And Blitz knows he's fucked shit up with a lot of people but he does need to realize that not everyone he's fucked shit up with doesn't fully hate him. In fact, if his friendship with Fizz and the drama that happened between them is anything to go off of, it feels like all of the relationships (both romantic, platonic, and familial) that he screws up are probably mostly caused by a series of misunderstandings between him and those he cares/cared about. And some of his loved ones got hurt worse than others (not just physically but emotionally).
The pain in his eyes at 3:38 hits deep on another level like goddamn The animating team and Bryce went above and beyond for this, props to them for making me nearly bawl my eyes out every time I listen to this
Next ep is gonna hit hard 🥺 you can hear in Stolas voice how much he truly yearns for his feelings and words to get through to Blitz. I think this song insinuates Stolas fear to give Blitzø the Gem, because the only reason in his mind that Blitzø ever needs him is for the book. And if Blitzø has another way to access the human world without his grimore then Stolas would never see Blitzø again, but Stolas also wants to set him free because he can see how unhappy Blitzø is.
That is pretty much the whole dilemma. Removing the obligation their deal creates is going to be the make or break moment for their relationship, and Stolas knows it.

Honestly just love the song in general and seeing it animated and seeing it connected to the actual story is just wondrous. Feel so bad for Stolas and hoping things go well. He's throwing away a toxic connection on the hope that the connection can remain in a more positive way, but it's possible that the other side isn't ready for it quite yet and may spurn it completely. Stolas will lay his heart bare for Blitzo but it's their choice at the end and they may not be ready to make themselves vulnerable in the same way.

that was so beautiful I was in tears. Please, please let Stolas be with Blitz. Let Blitz realize that Stolas does love him, or will Blitz sacrifice himself to save Stolas from death? Oh man that would be epic and tragic yet a good way to hook us for a season three. I do love them as a couple and I hope they will be together in the end. Such a wonderful song, Stolas voice so hauntingly beautiful, and the animation breathtaking, keep up the great work.
