I think the THECROW4luck's assault and ultimately his demise would make a great movie. Gyle's masterful cast as always only added to the suspense. I don't think I've ever been captivated by anyone talking about a single ravager being built before but Gyle somehow made it happen. Furthermore his attempt to extract his Comm was some movie quality action. I mean the guy pulled his Comm out at the exact moment his defenses were being overrun, I mean when have you seen that happen in a game where it wasn't scripted?? And then its taken one step further when his Continental is ultimately shot down by Blodir while his teammates desperately tried to defend him in a raging air battle between three different people. Moments like these are only capable of happening in SupCom and that's why I think its one of if not the best RTS to ever be made.
Am I the only one who loves how he always goes 'BOOOM' after every big explosion??

Supcom is amazing because of every projectile being a tangible object. If only it used more than one core...
by far one of the best games ive ever watched. the joes really got close to getting the drop on the pros. but as time went on, you could see the mental fatigue kicking on on the joes and mistakes started kicking in. the pros did an excellent job of holding their ground. both sides played very well!
The ending sequence with the experimental gunships and the air force swooping in behind them was some absolute kino

Lost by not building 1 SMD. It's kind of frustrating to watch but I know how it goes with games like that, sometimes you forget the basics when there's so much going on.
still can´t wrap my head around the fact that still, after all these years after it´s release, no PC manages to run this fucking thing the way it was meant to be played. It kinda speaks for it! Great Cast! Love it.
LOUD mod get's very close to running butter smooth at like 10k units. I don't think loud will even to to +8 speed under this light load.(mostly because of projectiles and glitter trimming)
It is using a single CPU core. Even if you have a multi ore CPU.

1:10:50 - exactly this. 2 Pros with the same available resources as 6 players - if they can weather the early storm, then it's almost inevitable that they'd win. Playing a 2v4 where you only have the starting resources for 2 players - that'd be a much stronger test!
If you just count core mexes, you are overlooking some things: (1) 6 ACUs can get a much faster start building the mexes and pgens and upgrading them to t2 (2) 6 ACUs gives a lot of extra firepower to take the middle, and there are a lot of mass points in the middle. FtXCommando ultimately had almost as much economy by himself as both of them put together.
@@armacham And the sad part is that with all that economy they still didn't use it that well in the end. Like with Commando boasting his 900 mass he should've been doing so much more with the game than he was, for example

this is the pick me up I needed today.
How is it 2v6 if they get the same amount of safe base eco? It only takes so much APM to max out 40 mexes in 15 minutes and have almost a paragon-level economy. Then, a 3x economy for one player outscales 1x economies for 3 players.
Exactly what i was thinking... Should have had less core mass. They are pros with access to way more mass than the other team...

well, mass/energy wise it's 6v6, but unit cap wise it's 2v6, the joes only need to build 300 units each to be on par with the max that the pro's can build, 400 units each, and you're suddenly at 2400 units, the Joes can't compete with that. it's 2000unit cap vs 6000 unit cap. If the Joe's leveraged that, they could have won with spam.
Also, it's the initial building power of 6 ACUs vs 2. The Joes had the wrong strategy, though. They played this more or less like a regular game with building bases in the middle, building navy and having a dedicated late-game guy. If you really want to beat two pros on Dual Gap you have to push early and hard, build factories (not entire bases) very close to the opponent's gap, airlift Coms to the front while one or two players constantly harrass with T1 and later T2 air (including drops). They had the drops and air pressure but just turtled up in the middle which is something that will always lose against pros.
There's another game before this? That needs to be casted...

They could have won if they attacked with that GC alltogether, but they got split up and lost momentum. Sad, I watched the whole thing while listening to sabaton and it was goddamn epic. Huge thumbs up to Gyle for casting this.
No we should have never attacked with land in the first place. We gave them the mass for a paragon and killed like 6 t3 Mexes that were just rebuilt anyway. Blackheart and Blodir's plan was to harass mid so that our front players wasted their eco on units they didn't need, unfortunately, we took it a step further and gave them free mass as well.
How does Gyle always miss the funny chat conversations?
In the last Phantom game one of the guy's goes "I'm from Australia" and the other guy's like "Ah, the land of the Joseph Fritzel"

Love the 2vX concept and love the challenge you threw out there. Of course I second Vordex7727 in asking you to be one of those 4! Btw, I know you said you get tons of replays on this map that you don't cast because they're turtlefests, but I honestly wouldn't mind one or two here and there - IDK about everyone else though.

No anti nuke in their forward fire-base. Zomg - That was the epic fail of that match. They might've won it otherwise.
"How to make antinukes?" - That pretty much explains why there wasn't any.
The joe play was certainly joe worthy from time to time xD Not saying I would do much better, but they really failed at some critical moments, which gave both a good cringe and laugh haha, but still overall it was an awesome game to watch. Those nukes near the end though xD could have changed everything for the joe's, but accomplished nothing due to poor scouting and hasty decision making haha.
Yeah the use of those nuke subs made me mad.. Why the hell would you send two nukes in the same exact spot? Such a waste...
@@kunknown2340 Mainly to overwhelm an antinuke that has only one missile built already, but in the area he nuked there wasn't an antinuke anyway.

The pros have the advantage in a game like this for sure. Being down a player doesn't do much if your eco is the same.

Seldom have seen so much stationary T3 arty. - - - At 32:35 you say that Yellow's recommendation to build Aeon Cruisers for mobile AA "certainly should be" sarcastical. I am not so sure about that! The Aeon INFINITY-class cruisers seem to have the highest combined AA-dps of all cruisers (spooky.github.io/unitdb/#/XSS0202,UAS0202,URS0202,UES0202) AND they are able to throw their AA-projectiles against the attacking enemy aircraft to shoot it down before it arrives, while others, particularly the otherwise impressive SIREN-class cybran cruisers shoot behind the aircraft after it has passed, which seems to me less effective as the bombs or torpedos are already dropped by this time.
I guess he missed the "for mobile AA" part and read just they were the best (overall), which was the comment for then

The Joes did pretty damn well. Some blunders for sure, but if Crow hadn't died in the com drop and they had built SMD over the 3 middle T3 arty they would have won. Blodir was get pounded and some better co-ordination could have killed blackheart off.

The white and Grey player were driving me nuts. For Grey you had one job...navy. dish out T2 cruisers all day you got anti air, fire support, and refuel. They had nothing in the water for nearly 20 minutes. White air attack was horrid timing. Bombers in front of asfs?. Well I feel inspired if they can do it so can I.

Sigh. I know I'm a total scrub at multiplayer, but I never can watch a cast without wanting to dive into the carnage! Sucks that I have neither skill not a good rig. Hoping to change that this Christmas. Would the MSI GE62 Apache Pro-004 provide the power needed to run this at medium to high settings with a constant 60fps? CPU is an Intel i7 6700HQ running at a variable speed of 2.3-3.5GHz, and the GPU is a 2GB NVidia GTX 960M.
Unfortunately you'll never get that sweet 60 frames constant through the whole game regardless of your system. and thats not really your fault, its just that the game engine simply wasnt designed to implement the multicore processors we have today. so when you play it with your nice quad core, you are literally only use one or maybe even 2 of those core. and it really starts to show the strain of this limitation when you start piling on units on the map in the thousands...

I know this is a super late response, but how do you search in the FAF replays? I go to the replay section under Vault, but I don't see any search function.
Bring up FAF. Click on the Replays button. Bottom center between Vaults and Units Database buttons. (DO NOT GO INTO VAULTS) On your right are search options. Type in Blackheart. Then below name type 1500 in min rating section (a lot of noobs named blackheart, this will bring up the real one) Scroll down on left side and search for games played on 2016-08-24

Regarding the salvation being supcom's most powerful weapon, the mavor is actually better in all regards. I've tested this in a private game. It breaks through shield coverage better and faster, it's more accurate, it does more pinpoint damage to a specific target, and it has great aoe. You'd think the salvation is better at breaking through heavy shielding but I tested this with a map that was basically completely covered with tessellated T3 Seraphim shields with no gaps. The mavor broke through and was able to slowly kill some shield gens while the salvation for the most part couldn't penetrate. So basically the mavor will break through any amount of shielding and go balls deep into the skull of whatever target you want, truly the ultimate penis of doom.
