Can you build a LEGO Star Wars MOC with ONLY Sets? 🤔

I challenge myself to build a MOC only utilizing what LEGO themselves offer online, is it possible to make some just as epic as a brick built diorama? We'll find out!

  • My conclusion: very expensive low resolution moc. BUT the really cool thing about this method is that it’s more playeable. You don’t have to worry about the delicate build and just play and move around the minifigures and vehicles for fun.

    • This is so well put and exactly what I look for in Lego. Buy the sets I like (mostly Harry Potter), and minimally MOC them with a focus on maximum playability and immersion. Super cool idea!

    • It can happen. Plan an event. Rent a warehouse and divide the space up into sections. Have one giant map with a design goal for each section. People fill the spots where their collection makes sense to fill the voids. Have everyone do it on rolling tables, and then when it's time you push them all together and Voila! You have the scale you're looking for. Nothing is impossible for a group of highly motivated humans.

  • After watching this, the only thing that I’m thinking about is how a real MOC with a TON of external pieces would look like. Even this is impressive and it’s only a bunch of lego sets displayed on some baseplates. I would love to see David building an actual Hoth MOC, especially with these new UCS AT-ATs and a UCS Falcon inside the Echo base. That would be insane! David, PLEASE consider making a Hoth MOC in the future!!!

Watching this video was like going on a journey which is what your old Building Series videos did so well. I love the fact that you've limited yourself to official sets as well which makes the task of making a similar MOC ourselves seem a lot more achievable and straight forward. Also maybe some sort of battle taking place in a hangar of an imperial vessel but that's kind of stretching it. Of course you might be able to pull off more especially with the Techniques you used for Hoth. Would love to see more!

  • This reminds me of the time I was a kid, I had tons of Lego sets, enough to mostly remake an entire original triology of Star Wars and I actually did remake battle of Hoth myself one time. I had the old base the pre 2016 version which rocked btw, I had 1 AT-AT, 2 AT-STs a few of the sets that made up defensives, tons of minifigs etc, but I actually used a big white rug for snowy ground. I'm so happy to see this evolved into something grander and more proper, especially since I was a kid that prefered to keep sets as sets :D

    @BluMacaw@BluMacaw Жыл бұрын

    • They actually have! Hoth Rebel Base in 2007, and Hoth Echo Base in 2011. Some redundancies, 2007 is mostly the shield gate with a single computer console for internals, and 2011 has another Luke Bacta tank, but it’s only part of the build, and there are two more computer terminals. I’m actually currently working on this exact same project, except I’m using my existing furniture for elevation, and I’m allowing myself to rebuild the sets (mainly changing angles of hinge plates, moving some guns/radar dishes to another set so I can have better layering, and combining the two Bacta tanks and the two Wampa caves, and rebuilding the shield generator to have 4 dishes because that would just bother me). I have all the main Echo Base sets now, I still need about half of the released Snowspeeders, and I only have the two newest battle packs, but honestly you get a lot of Snowtroopers and Rebels with every Hoth set, I can’t see myself adding more than one of each battle pack. Just bought my UCS Falcon this May, still need some AT-ATs though

Belief in Messiah alone is not enough to get you into heaven - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36). Contemplate how the Roman empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years to accomplish the religion of the Israelites C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate though because you can start a relationship with God and have proof. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life. - Revelation 3:20 Revelation has been unfolding since Jesus died. The Popes have claimed to be equal to God and set themselves in Jesus' place (antichrist(s)). Vatican City (Which is its own nation BTW) have risen up to fulfill the role of the false prophet Regarding the man of lawlessness or antichrist, 2 Thessalonians 2:4 says “Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” The restrainer that the Apostle Paul was referring to in 2 Thessalonians was the Western Roman Emperor, who held back the Popes from taking power. Once the last Western Roman Emperor was removed from power in 476 AD, the Pope was given civil and ecclesiastic authority over Rome; healing the deadly head wound of the beast in Revelation 13, as they took the Emperors title of Pontifex Maximus, leader of the church and state. “We may according to the fullness of our power, dispose of the law and dispense above the law. Those whom the Pope of Rome doth separate, it is not a man that separates them but God. For the Pope holdeth place on earth, not simply of a man but of the true God.” (Source: “Decretals of Gregory IX,” Book 1, chapter 3.) Pope Pius V blasphemed, “The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth.” (Source: Pope Pius V, quoted in Barclay, Cities Petrus Bertanous Chapter XXVII: 218.) Pope Leo XIII declared, “We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty.” (Source: Pope Leo XIII Encyclical Letter, June 20, 1894) The antichrist sea beast of Revelation points to the office of the papacy, the Popes of Rome, who controlled the Roman beast for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 AD. Daniel 7:25 says “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” The Popes of Rome spoke against Elohim and proclaimed to be God. They reigned for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 AD. during which they caused tens of millions of saints to be killed. It's got a good deal of terrain / cover variation to make it interesting to play, and since it's entirely made out of lego, it'd be easy to change up to suit any battle need.

  • Very clever! I thought the IKEA storage bins worked amazingly. Honestly if you wanted to get more detailed you could get more battlepacks and use the pieces to create a gradient in-between levels. The big fight looks great and ofcourse those dual UCS AT-ATs were really the cherry on top. You did a great job and achieved something I've always wanted to do - an epic battle with multiple sets. A big thumbs up from me!

  • $2500 - $3000 worth of sets, I'm guessing... The bins are ok for providing elevations but I would have likes a bit more diversity in the open field area, and some storage crates and structures within the base. I would have allowed / suggested cannibalization of sets to provide materials for this. Otherwise, a nice moc!

    • Repent and follow Jesus my friend! Repenting doesn't mean confessing your sins to others, but to stop doing them altogether. The Pope’s title is Vicar of Christ, which in Latin is ‘Vicarius Filii Dei’, and equates numerically to the number 666

  • Lego should create a system where you are able to send them the plastic wrappers that come from their products so that all of it may be re-used to make other Lego bricks. Granted, these new Lego bricks, probably, would not be as strong as their original counter-parts, but it's worth a shot. They would be cheaper, unique, and very common.

    • @@paulmiklasinski3185 Paul, it was just a hypothetical suggestion. Don't get your panties in such a bunch. I care about the Earth, too...hence why I suggested this new system. Anyways, how do YOU expect any of us to care about this world as much as you do when you just shoot down everybody who WANTS to care? Because of your comment, I don't feel like contributing any positive solutions to this world, anymore. Your comment just kind of made me feel hopeless. What kind of motivation are you trying to bring about besides the motivation to make people dislike you for sounding like a hater? You have the right intentions, but you're approaching people the wrong way. If you want change, like me, then offer a helping hand...not a backslap.
