Tashi Delek!
Have you ever heard of a Polyandry Family?
It is a rare form of marriage that still exists in some remote areas in Tibet.
In ancient times, Tibetans believed that the family of one wife with more than one husband could gather more wealth, and such a big family could survive better in this harsh land.
Today, I will show you a daily life of a polyandry family, who live in a remote village in Sakya County, which is 400kw west of Lhasa. It consists of a wife, her 3 husbands, 5 children, and her parents. You will learn about each member’s role in the family and how the big family makes a living.
Now, come with me to see this typical polyandry family united by love and loyalty.
Thanks for supporting me. Every encouragement and sponsorship from you is the driving force for me to continue to shoot and explore the beautiful Tibet. Fund me a cup of tea, a meal, a liter of oil, or a glass of beer, and I will continue to work hard to bring you more exciting videos. Our PayPal account: travel@vip.163.com

    • It's a major pitfall in sociology to view other people's cultures through your own perspective. It is called ethnocentrism and also shows arrogance on your part. As someone who is not doing your own primary research you will not have a clear idea why they distribute work the way they do, and whether they think it's fair to the respective parties. Notice how sheepherding is typically done by men and not women in Tibet. These are questions to be asked, not for you to make assumptions as outsiders. Also to the responder who talks about her age: the Tibetan sun is extremely harsh. I know because I have personally felt it myself. UV light ages people far quicker than they should. She's not the only one looking older than her age, her 31 year old husband looks 45.

    • Lubna, what are you suggesting? That she should be the Dr, the Vet and whatever work the other ones does(appears maybe accounting/money management for the family) AND her housework? They are providing in ways that she does not have to. She is able to enjoy her children more, knowing she doesn’t have to be worried about provision. The husbands all actually seem very respectful and happy to be with her in her chores and family caregiving. I agree with GV 💯

She seemed to work from dawn to dusk - doing all the household chores, cooking meals, looking after the children etc. One good thing- there doesn’t seem to be jealousy or rivalry amongst the 3 husbands. The family including the parents in law seemed happy & contented. They function well as a family unit. God bless them.

    • That's exactly what I'm going to say about the three husbands! There is no jealousy among them! They all support her and their children! They all (husband) say it brings more wealth to the family! So all their support helps them to survive in the family and they will never go hungry! Which is great! 🤗 In some of the area where there's no three husband! Jealousy is part of the way! We fight for one person! We don't want any other person's life but just one! Jealousy brings divorce paperwork! 😥

Also, although I didn't grow up in a typical traditional society, I can relate to some of the Tibetan culture and the overall peace and harmony that especially existed among African peoples in pre-colonial times. Africans are polygamous although legend goes that my people, the Kikuyu of Kenya, practiced polyandry at one time. 2) Life definitely isn't easy here, but one just has to love the peace and harmony in thee home and., I'm sure, in the whole small village. No violence of any kind here, that's for sure! 3) What exactly is "butter tea"? Is it something akin to porridge and is actual butter used? Finally, I discovered these documentaries recently and I'm loving them. Thank you for sharing.💌

    • Pefectly, respectfully & brilliantly said! 👍🏼👌🏼👏🏼😁 I as well, thoroughly lived seeing the landscapes of their home, the beautiful pictures 📸 of their home! So cheerfully colourful, which reflected the happiness & smiles 😄 of the family themselves! Several people (viewers) have mentioned that they disagree with "HOW" this family is living, the "WAY" they're bringing up their adorable kids & people also have stated they disagree with the daily lifestyle and/or treatment of the wife in particular & her relationship with her "multiple" husbands! I really loved 💜 several rebuttals to those comments that reminds us that THIS way of life is not our own, not what we're used to, that this video is an incredibly fabulous opportunity for us to "respectfully" LEARN about how other people around the world 🌎 live, their culture, traditions & history! I'm quite positive that "if" that family was shown a long video of a TYPICAL western family & how it lives they would be enormously shocked, disturbed & NOT like it at all! For example: those lovely kids were so tremendously respectful of their parents & elderly! Yes! many kuds today are to a point, but the majority of kids hugely spoiled compared to those kids, they are extremely assertive insisting on doing or saying what they want to! It quitecoften results in families now in days not eating together at all! One or both parenrs are occupied with work, social activities, charitable work, many times doung necessary things at home. The sane for the kids too! After school jobs, going out with friends/over to friends homes, preferring to be in their rooms etc. Plus, the Tibetan family would probably be schocked & very disagreeable about the common frequency of marrage breakdowns (divorce), affairs, single parents raising kids alone, teenage pregnancy, all the current young generation violence: from disrespecting adults (parents teachers authority), to way more serious things like bullying other kids, stealing, robbing, vandalism, rape, planned/premeditated attacks against parents or personal friends or as we have recently seen so tragically & heart wrenchingly - school shootings & murders! So BEFORE we as the Western culture "we" are go judging, criticising this very interesting, loving 💜 family ? I only respectfully suggest we look in the mirror & just for a miment imagine HOE they would react to seeing ALL of what I mentioned about the typical society of today! What young kids feel they NEED & MUST HAVE too live their everyday lives? Computers, tablets, iPads, cell phones, iPhones, of course the internet for all those electronics, movies, music, sports equipment, make-up, jewellery, the "in fashionable" style clothes, most imperatively now in days....... the outrageously costing, newest sneakers on the market! I just saw a documentary about THAT. It's absolutely genuinely ludicrous! Then for adults the "fever" to have your home with the latest, most popular interior design styles, electronics too! ex: Alexa, remotely controlled by your phone - cameras, pet feeders, household controls etc. The newest cars, BBQ's, A/C, TV's, sterio systems, also in style clothes (NOT handmade by them!) I picture in my mind the Tibetan family's reaction to viewing ALL this on the video of "our" way of life & culture AND their reactions to it all? The polluted water, air, garbage dumps? Their reactions to viewing insane, congested traffic jams on freeways & city streets as well as the crazy, thick pedestrian traffic in a hurry, pushing & shoving so unkindly & inconsiderately as they rush to wherever on busy city streets, people whistling/shouting loudly to hail a cab/taxi as cars speed by so fast & the morning commutes of people vying for a seat or even a standing spot on to a enormously crowded subway! Can you for a minute, imagine their faces & reactions of "seeing" 👀 all these things that are just NORMAL life to us?? 😱😲 When I watched the Tibetan family all together so very happy 😄, loving 💜 each other respectfully & taking the time to pray 🙏🏼 & be thankful for their blessings, it proundly touched me so deeply at how beautiful & truly magnificent it really was!! NO! It was not at all the same faith as mine, NO it is not the same belief system (lifestyle) that I believe in but it IS wonderful as a few viewers stated to "learn" & educate myself about how others who share this home 🌎 with me live their lives! Learning, becoming educated is one of the best ways to stop racism, prejudice & hatred! When fear what they don't know that's when trouble begins! The other "key" tool to peace & equality is kindness! We on this earth 🌎 are ALL "ONE" race only! The human race! Within that race it is in spectacular groups of different cultures that we just need to learn about! To become friends with! I sincerely apologise for the long comment! My heart 💜 was so full of thoughts after watching the video & reading all the comments that "my" comment just came flowing out! I hope that even a few of you will have foubd my thoughts & feelings to be positive! 👍🏼😁

  • I love your content brother. We are able to learn about Tibetan culture from the comforts of our home. You respect the families in every video letting them do their natural daily chores and subtly hinting as what someone is doing in the form of a caption. This is beautiful compared to videos where they have a mic or a camera in close quarters. Please keep posting. Subscribed.

    • @@lennabalun4338 she must have been some sort of mass murderer in her previous life to be reincarnated as a woman who gave birth to countless children, has to do all those damn chores and satisfy 3 men. That is not a healthy lifestyle. Also those 3 men work, she should be living in the lap of luxury!

  • Thank you for sharing. I always find it interesting to see the differences in cultures and the various family units. Obviously this works on many different levels . Watching the wife and her husbands each work so efficiently together is enlightening. Their culture has not yet been tainted by the values and morality codes of western cultures.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    • Also not tainted by other cultures (Indian, Chinese, Muslim, Arab, etc) , not exclusively western.

      @peachpink123@peachpink1232 жыл бұрын
    • @@peachpink123 , I guess you don't know Tibet is part of China and is one of the ethnic groups of China. China has 56 ethnic groups. Part of the culture of Tibet is "Red packet" enclosed with money, given as a symbol of prosperity, longevity n happiness. It is also a broad Chinese culture. So, Tibet culture is partly Chinese, not tainted by Chinese. Buddhism came from India n Tibetans practice Buddhism for thousands of yrs, not tainted by Indian.
