The Pakistani surprised with his unusual use of a tin can. I regret that I didn’t know this before

Last year, when we were vacationing at the seaside in Kabardinka, fried crispy potatoes in spirals were sold on every corner. The price of one skewer is about 100 rubles. This delicacy looks delicious.
I immediately imagined frying them at home on the grill. But where can I get a device for such cutting?
My husband promised to do it.
And now the hour has come, we finally got around to it.
To work, you will need a tin can, 10.5 cm high and 7 cm in diameter. Olives, beans and other vegetables and fruits are sold in this one.
You also need a 1.5 liter plastic bottle and a solid metal rod so that it does not bend.
- At the bottom of the tin can we find the center and drill a hole of such a diameter that the rod will fit in there. Another hole is made at the edge of the bottom circle.
- These two holes must be connected so that the line runs along the edge of the holes. Cut this line with a small disk.
- Lift one slot slightly with a screwdriver to create a gap of approximately 2-3 mm.
- Sharpen the raised edge with a needle file.
- Cut off the bottom of a plastic bottle to a height of 4-5 cm. We put it on the open part of the jar and direct the heat gun so that the walls of the bottle press the jar tightly.
- Drill a hole at the bottom of the bottle.
- To remove this cover, we make cuts with a stationery knife.
- On the bottle cap we make a hole in the center, and on the sides there is a slot for the rod.
- Drill 2 more holes for screws that will secure the potatoes.
- We bend the rod in this way. It is necessary to take into account the length so that the potatoes fit on it.
- We put the lid on the rod in this way and pour hot glue inside to fix all the parts.
- The edge of the rod was sharpened. Assembling a contraption.
- We put the peeled potatoes on the rod in the middle up to the lid, the screws additionally secure the potatoes. Next, the rod enters the hole at the bottom of the jar and exits through the hole at the bottom of the bottle.
- We twist the handle of the rod, the potatoes begin to rotate and are cut in a spiral through a sharpened hole. We didn't succeed the first time, as the gap turned out to be narrow. They pushed it apart a little with a screwdriver and everything went like clockwork.
- Remove the plastic lid, remove the potatoes and enjoy the result. The spiral stretches and contracts like a spring.
Thread the potatoes onto a skewer and fry.
