Whoa, Nelly! I just bought the AMD premium build list at 18:36 (with less RGB). I just could not take my Dell 7050 any more for VPX Visual Pinball. I added an ASUS ROG Swift PG43UQ for the pinball playfield so I can play at 4K at 144Hz. The only caveat is that I already own a GTX 3060 that would not post with the Dell even with an upgraded PSU. I'll upgrade to a 3080 when it's at MSRP or below. - THANKS for all the information and details. I hope I don't make a disaster of it! ;) - Anyone know of any gotchas in the below parts, let me know. Was considering getting one last year to upgrade my 3900X, but got bored with the delays and the inexistence of a 5900X3D, so went for a 5900X, playing ultrawide 1440p with a 3080 I don't think sidegrading to a 5800X3D makes sense
Can I get 4k 60 fps at least with this ?
Most motherboards will accept the 5800X3D with a bios flash including some that have not listed it in there support page. My friends Asus X570 Dark Hero wasn't listed but his bios was up to date and dropped the 5800X3D in and it worked.

this cpu is probably going to be the best option for most of the 40X0 series/7X00 series gpus if you dont wanna pay the extreme premium for ddr5

Agree if on a decent B550 or X570 board already and even a 5600x or lesser CPU the 5800x3D is a great drop in and one can roll DDR4 for at least 2-3 more years in a gaming focused build. Its not like 8c16t is bad for mixed workloads either. If someone already has a 5900x I wouldn't swap that out and just keep it until a platform shift.

The 5800X3D is my final upgrade till well into the AM5 generation once things smooth out and prices come down. I am running the 5800X3D on the X570 Dark Hero mobo with 4x16gb 3600 CL16 Dominator sticks (overkill, I know). My intent was to not have a need to upgrade till well into the AM5 chipset life cycle.
I just wanted to say thank you, this video was an invaluable resource for me when planning my very first build! I went with an NZXT N7 B550 motherboard, 32gb (4x8) of Corsair dominator plat ram 3600 c16 per your suggestion, 3080 ti founders edition, all housed in a Corsair 4000D Airflow case. Some really good advice put across in a very well structured way, great job. I can say with experience there is not much difference in gaming performance compared to a 5800x at 3440x1440 with a 3080FE. However ever I wasn’t expecting there to be, I needed the 5800x for another build and I plan to buy a 4080ti once available. I’m running 4x8 3600 cl18 (Corsair Dominator) memory at the moment and I’m really starting to wonder if I should spend the time tightening the timings. Apparently Warzone does benefit from that and Corsair claim there is headroom in the kits to do so, even providing pdf guides on their support page to do so. I’ve not seen much large scale comparisons between the 5800x3d and 12700k which might be a fairer pricing comparison, Hardware unboxed have this on there to “do list” so that should be interesting.

What’s crazy is that with Black Friday pricing I just payed $1200 for this 5800x3d build (minus a GPU): - 5800x3d - Phanteks g360a (White) - Asus Rog Strix b550F v2 wifi mobo - Asus Rog Strix LC v2 240mm AIO - Asus Rog Strix 1000w Gold PSU - x2 3600mhz 16gb Gskill Ripjaws CL16 (couldn’t find a good 4x8 kit) - 2tb Samsung 980 Pro w/Heatsink All that’s left is a gpu and since my budget was $2500 I can splurge on the 7900xtx and pay about the same as the build you just did in this video! Now is definitely the time to build an AM4 pc for those like me who don’t want to go am5/intels next gen CPUs👍🏽

As always good recommendations for the 5800X3D. Got mine last week but went with X570, Nvidia 3080 and 1000 watt power supply. Other than that it's the same parts you recommended I ordered before this video. Still rocking my old Lian Li PC-V33WX though.

I bought the Ryzen 7 5800X3D on launch day and LOVE it!!! It replaced my Ryzen 9 3900X. Without changing any other components, it increased my FPS on Battlefield 5 and Battlefield 2042 by 30% (I have a 34 in 1440p monitor and RTX 3080TI GPU with an X570 motherboard and 3600 speed RAM)

@@bigbrave2521 You honestly shouldn't be building a new system for an old platform. The 7600X or 13600k is just as fast and cheaper in some cases depending on where you live. The best platform for future upgrades is Definitely Ryzen 7600X with B650E because its is the least expensive to build and you can upgrade it at least 2 more times with better CPU'S in the future. In 5 years B650E will still be one of the fastest platforms. All of the other platforms are at end of life and B550 and X570 is actually already past end of life. Don't start a new build on an already dead platform. Start with AM5 and B650E motherboard and 7600X CPU and DDR5 Ram. It will be slightly more expensive than doing an AM4 B550 and 5800X3D, but in 5 years time you will be thanking me for good advice because you can still upgrade your CPU to the newest Ryzen 9000 series and keep your AM5 motherboard and Ram and you can just get a 9600X CPU and it will work.
@@mountanarivera4450 i highly recommended the Thermalright Peerless cooler. It is a dual tower cooler that has great performance for only $40. There is no reason to get a bigger or more expensive cooler for a CPU that mostly uses around or under 120 watts. You should see temperatures of 65°c or about that depending on your case airflow.

I cannot recommend that white Corsair 4000X case enough. You can actually improve the airflow if you remove the front panel glass (I prefer to leave it on for aesthetic reasons). Only issue I’ve found is that you could encounter issues with a top mounted 280mm AIO and taller (RGB) RAM.

Hi, love your work! I'm currently on amd4 and don't wanna upgrade everything to amd5 right now. So i got thid 4070ti from sale and thinking to go upgrade my 5600 to 5800x3d. I have a nice airflow case but I'm worrying about my 4 pipe air cooler. Do you think that id cooling se 224-xt will manage the 5800x3d for 1440p gaming?
We love your videos . Jason its very difficult atm to get perfect components here in Uk . I am building same rig . But instead of Tomahawk Max wifi am going with Aorus Elite Ax v2 Atx . Which one should i pick? Also liquid cooler am so confused . I ll go with 240 aio. I heard Artic freezer 2 240 is good but it look so dry . Coolermaster illusion or artic freezer 2 , or deepcool lt520? Or any other you can suggest. I need best performance with atleast little bit of aesthetics . Which one should i pick? Ram i dont want 3200mhz i ll go with 3600 but cl 18 is availableand cl 16 is so overpriced . Do you think cl18 will be ok?

I got an old 2x16gb CL15 kit that's dual rank. It also uses Samsung memory, and I am beginning to see why it was discontinued. There is a "revised" version of it with a D in the product ID, I bet they did away with all the good stuff.
im new to pc building, i have a few questions: Can the next gen new graphics cards (rtx 4000/5000 or rx 7000/8000) be bottlenecked by the motherboard/am4 platform because they would need a faster bandwidth? like you said these motherboards support pci4, are gpu's going to use the pci5 or so? How do you install your build together? What do you need to do after connecting everything, can i just start it up, do i need to have windows on the ssd, etc. I still find it difficult to choose which pc case to pick for the components that you picked, and likewise with the fans (fans in the case, extra fans, etc)

I got the a-rgb 240mm arctic aio for my old system with i7-4790k qnd am so happy my system is way quieter and cpu is like 30C at idle
I was running 3900x with Asus x570 mobo 3090 32gb ram and I felt i was being bottlenecked by the 3900x for gaming. Just picked up my 5800x3d and looking forward to more fps
hey Jason, i been watching alot of your vids... boy o boy am i over my head lol... I recently bought a 3.4k computer from microcenter (bought all parts from them an they built it aswell) i had such a bad experiences an was so overwhelmed.. had to take it back 3 times, different problems... i had RBG an streamer cables.. they claim the RBG software was making it Freeze/Crush,( sometimes on start up, but mostly when u boot up a game it would freeze 5-30seconnds) that possible? is there a way i can share a picture of the components? thinking about getting the same parts and having some1else build it.. thanks , Robert

Great GPU currently paired with my 3900X but today I've ordered the 5800X3D...my MB is a Aorus X570ultra with the latest bios that support 5800X3D. I wonder I do music production, will 8 Cores be plenty for it? Btw my ram is 2X16 32GB 3600mhz RAM

AMD seem to be really onto something with the 3D cache. There seem to be games where it makes a huge difference, like Star Citizen. What are X570-P and X570S?
Hi i m building my first pc and i am using ur videos as a guide i am planning to use almost same premium build as urs but i have 2 questions in my country 3080 ti and 6900xt are almost same same price which one should i go for ? Another question is the 5850x3d worths the price compared to 5800x when u consider better gaming performance ,it is %50 more price but if the performance is worths it i ll go for it. I ll be mostly playing mmorpg games like gw2 on high settings and i want to get good fps but i want it to be future proof because i may also play 4k games in future.thx in advance i love ur vids !
One thing worth noting is the type of games you play for example I want to play games like stellaris or factoria so it's heavy CPU usage

I was thinking about building PC with 5800x3d CPU. While watching reviews accidentally found this video and channel. This helped me a lot with choosing the right components. I went with Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite V2 motherboard, G.Skill Ripjaws V 2x8GB 3600 CL16 RAM (for now), Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6800 XT GPU, Crucial P3Plus 2TB SSD, Deepcool AK620 Zero Dark cooler, Deepcool PQ850M 850W Power supply and put it all into Cougar Airface case. Some parts will arrive later, but I'm sure it's gonna be great build. Thank you so much for TON of information on PC parts and how to put them together

@@matthewjohnfit6000 I'm using it for like 5 month already. Everything is perfect so far. Blazing fast compare to my old system (8400, 1050 ti). I can recommend The only thing I don't have case with usb type-c, and there's no such thing on the back of the motherboard, but all good. I'd recommend to swap case with something that have usb type-c on the front, in case if you need it

Question. I recently got a 5800x3d to upgrade my 2700x in my x470 mobo. Planning on maybe upgrading my 1080ti to maybe a 3080 if I can find one at a good price in the next few months or perhaps amds new offerings that's releasing. Is the Asus x470f mobo going to be sufficient

Hi Jason, I've been checking out your videos over the past few weeks to get myself informed again. I've built my own PC's in the past, or would have a friend help me out, but at some point I lost track of new hardware releases. Ever since the RTX3080 was announced I've been interested in the card and as GPU prices are dropping right now I am looking to replace my 6 to 8 year old PC for a brand new one. Seeing this video with a completed build for under $2500 dollars pleasently suprised me, seeing as I set a budget for myself of €4000,- which should include two monitors. Its really more of a target price for myself, if the components are worth it to me I can definitely increase my budget without problems. You said something very interesting in the video. If I understoond correctly you mentioned there are motherboards with two M.2 slots, did I get that right? If so, I would be interested in a motherboard like that. I would also like to have WiFi on that motherboard, as well as upgraded sound. Do you have any recommendations for that, or am I simply putting the bar too high? Reason for me being interested in a dual M.2 board have to do with my current (old) PC. I actually still have HDD drives in here, one 300gb 10k rpm and one 2 TB 7200 rpm. I later upgraded this with a SSD (300 gb) and later still with a M.2 (500 gb). Simply put, I have a lot of storage right now and I would prefer (if possible) to have all that storages on two 2 TB M.2 drives. The European market is a bit slower when it comes to the prices I've noticed. Right now I am aiming to purchase all the components in june 2022.
Good news! Every B550 I can think of (and recommended in this video) has at least 2 M.2 slots. If you want even more, check out the MSI B550 Unify, it has 4. Good luck on the build!
I recently upgraded my 2 year old build with a 3070 ti and 750w psu. I'm still using a B450m and a Ryzen 3600. I was thinking that upgrading to the 5800X3D would satisfy my pc gaming needs for a few years. I mainly play on a 1440p ultrawide monitor. But apparently, I won't see much of a difference. Thank you for saving me from myself.
Really depends on your usecase. If you play for example demanding battle royale games like warzone or pubg on a high refresh rate 144+ Hz monitor then it might be worth upgrading to the 5800x3D to smooth out your framerate. If you are more like a single player person or play on a 60 Hz or 75 Hz Monitor, then you shouldnt really bother upgrading.
For that level of GPU performance, I'd pick up a Ryzen 5600 instead. Will bump you up about 15% without breaking the bank.

Is that fast enough or should i buy faster RAM? Why do you recommend 32GB ( 4 X 8 ) Memory here but in other videos for gaming only 16GB ( 2X8) is required ? Hi, I have 5600x/x570 mobo config, I use computer for music production, (Daws, Vst Plug-ins etc) and some gaming. Daws and plug-ins demand a powerful single core performance. Just like gaming, first priority is a single core as fast as possible. Do you think 5800x3d would be a good update from 5600x in this case.

So on a 300 or 400 series board with only PCIE 3.0 would the 5800x3D actually be a good upgrade with even the current GPU's getting a hair extra performance with PCIE 4.0, I mean AMD's 7K-series GPU's and NVidias 4k-series GPU's will probably take the same or more advantage of PCIE 4.0?

So it's $380 right now at Micro Center in Dallas 24 in stock in store. Super tempting since I have a B550 and 4 8gb 3600 cl 16 ram and a pcie gen 4 nvme. However I'm only on a 2060 super and ryzen 5 3600 🤷 I built it just a few months before covid expecting to upgrade much sooner than now. I may be able to upgrade my gpu if I can get an open box one, what you think is the best bet? Lol

A 5800x3d only and keep my x470 mobo and ram An 5800x3d and upgrade my mobo to an x570s and new ram or just get a 7700x and a x670 motherboard? The reason i want to stick with x570 and not just ship to AM5 is to take advantage of S.A.M, so what do you think?
so I've been running an X470 (Asus Crosshair) with a 2700X and 2080ti and I was looking to upgrade to a 4090 soon but I won't be moving to 7000 series or 13th gen, should I get the X3D over a r9 5900X? (same price in my country) should I keep my motherboard or get a B550?. I use it mostly for gaming and 3d modeling with some small sesions of VR
If you are looking for a good 240MM AIO, also recommend the LianLi Galahad (which i got after the EK AIO shit the bed on me after 4 mths on my R5 3600). Keeping my 5800X3D nice and cool!
How much degrees?with my deepcool castle 240mm it runs way too hot,on cinebench it goes above 90° instantly

1st PC build ever- got my hands on a 6950x and the 5800x3d. Trying to figure out what other parts I want. This video helped! If anyone else had recommendations please let me know! (Motherboards,AIOs, etc). Im trying to see if I can stick to 1 brand so i can control multiple components with the same software (ex NZXT MB and AIO can be controlled within the same software).
