All I know is that we should all invest in pristine Jeep Cherokees because they are going to be rare as heck in the future. The numbers out there go down at least 50 across the country each weekend.

These are for putting around. I don't know what that chassis was based on or if it was original but the frame didn't prevent taco mode. I am a fan of thin A pillars because of unhindered vision and smaller blind spot. But then again the crash testing never included hill jumps. These old things probably shouldn't drive over 55 because that was the interstate maximum throughout the 80's when the blueprints were laid out on the table.

Buy a gimble they are inexpensive. Turn the stability or VCT on in your camera settings
@@bradleymorris8875 how long do gimble batteries last? that's my main concern.
@@MidnightMadness4x4 mine will go all day long and into the night with my phone plugged into it to keep it going. Live feed with the phone, Canon for video and stills.
@Bradley Morris ok thanks for the advice Brad. I'll start looking into gimbles. my FDRAX53 has one internally and i always got great footage with it but always wanted to record 60fps which is why i got this new camera. If a gimbles battery will last all day then I'm sold.

@@MidnightMadness4x4 I have to admit, steady isn‘t available in this video. Which camera do you use and more important, which tripod? I would buy a tripod with a fluid head, maybe SmallRig, because Sachtler and Manfrotto are a bit too pricey. But a good tripod is at least 50 percent of good camera work.
Something I grabbed from best buy that’s both a tripod and monopod. I was using the tripod at this event but found a way to get it better with the monopod at Lebanon And Carroll County.
@@MidnightMadness4x4 Don‘t get me wrong, I only can tell you from my experience as a prof. Cameraman and video editor for over 18 years now, a „good“ tripod (or monopod) is so important. With a good tripod you can really achieve fluid motions, but if you‘re using a modern camera with stabilisation on a tripod, deactivate the stabilisation, because while using the camera on a tripod you don‘t need a stabiliser. I don‘t know which type of camera you use, but I guess a DSLR or DSLM. For these „smaller“ cameras you don‘t need a Manfrotto tripod worth 2.000 Euros, as I said I would buy a tripod from SmallRig, they produce really awesome camera tech. Great video love the full coverage of everything, the shaking at times made it a little hard to watch but I don't get motion sickness from watching videos I can't believe all the jimmies folded along the roof, the frames were either so badly rotted out or just a piss poor design flaw
Thanks I think I got the shakiness a little more under control now. We will see. I hope I’m right. Otherwise I may go back to my old camera.
@@MidnightMadness4x4 if youre planning on doing this, they have stabilizers for cameras, you can probably get one at a decent price on amazon or something, might be worth it, 100k views with terrible shaking
i'm pretty sure my gopros will work just fine for the onboard stuff like i normally do. the shaking issue is fixed. it was because of a setting that was turned off.

Why does the driver of Stone Wall always run so much toe in? Every time I see it it looks like his control arms are broken but it seems to be intentional?

Isn't that negative camber and yeah its intentional the theory behind it is in a hard turn on dirt the negative camber will give you more tire surface gripping the ground dirt late model guys have been doing this forever just sitting still you would think the suspension was broken without negative camber the vehicle would push and not get around a corner as fast as you would like it to some of these boys know there shit
@@mrt601 no no i know about that, you can't really see it in this video but in others you can see super clearly his front wheels have a shit ton of toe in
@@garagekudos3953 are you taking about both tires pointing inwards at each other that's toe in camber is the appearance that the tires have to much weight on them and are slanted or bowed out but in motor sports where cornering is involved a tire will lay over and can be popped off the beed that's where negative camber comes into play its advantages to setup your chassis with negative camber the vehicle will get through the corners a hell of a lot faster and a wheel assembly that looks off will straighten up in the corner and apply more tire surface to the ground been around racing for a minute
@@mrt601 yes i know the difference 😭i understand the uses of camber in any motorsport, i was wondering if there are any usages for that amount of toe in. like i said you can't really see it in this video but in another one i watched, might not be one of midnight madness's, he was running a hell of a lot of toe in and i did not think there could be any benefit to be gained from that.

Well now... from watching this video...I have seen a manufacturing defect with the little Chevy Trailblazers. The design mistake could actually kill or break someone neck as a result . Even if someone is wearing a helmet and involved in a head on collision. When the front bumper is hit, it bends the frame under the driver, then at the same time, it bends the roof into the driver passenger compartment, while the driver durning the impact is moving forward from inertia, is when the drivers head and the roof meet instantly...! This was an engineering design flaw for sure. When I wrote this I had see it happen to three timed so far...! Go back and watch it one of these driver's plays it off to the crowd but you can see he is not ok..!
No, I personally launched my blazer harder than that and never bent a frame, either it’s the angle they hit or them being rust buckets that caused those.

@@Andrew_460 Some of the other trucks are uni body and don’t have frames to bend like Jeep or are clearly modified and besides the square body I am not sure if other was the frame or the body that bent.
