And to think Jesse was originally going to be killed off when Breaking Bad started, thank god they didn't cause he ended up being my favorite character in the show.
Lots of great things about Breaking Bad were clearly planned ahead but I love that one of the best things about the story ended up being a sort of happy accident that they stumbled upon.

@@Aleczandxr the thought of Breaking Bad without Jesse is just... so strange to think about. Because I feel like we've all grown to see Jesse as like... the emotional core of the show. And you can tell a lot about where Walt is in his character development by what's happening to Jesse at the moment.
Somewhere in Alaska there is a man by the name of Driscoll. A carpenter. Maybe a wife and two kids. Maybe a lifelong bachelor. He doesn't go out much, but people love his work. The occasional client thinks they've seen his face before, but they quickly dismiss it. Mr. Driscoll is kind and hard working, yet displays an inner sadness. Scars that will never truly heal. But at least now he is free to live out the rest of his days in peace.

What about Mr. Takavic? What will happen to him? What I know is that he’s an introvertly depressed guy managing cinnabon in Nebraska. He seems to be nervous around authorities and has no friend. Rumor said that Mr. Driscoll used to know him but they left in bad terms.

One of my absolute favorite scenes that shows that Jesses is ultimately empathetic and caring in a really subtle way is the opening of "Peekaboo" We see Jesse sitting on the street corner waiting for Pete, he notices a bug on the ground and kind of plays around with it with his foot, eventually he kneels down and lets the bug crawl across his hand gently and we see him smile slightly. Once Pete arrives he stomps on the bug and Jesse looks down obviously slightly upset with what happened. I really like this scene because it really shows Jesse's true character somewhat.
that scene and the entirety of peekaboo really humanizes jesse and shows that he isn’t some heartless hardened dealer, he’s a good person at his core

peekaboo is one of my favourite episodes of the show. it shows a new side to jesse that wasn't really shown before that - he really is a good person at heart.
Love how Jesse's character is misunderstood in the 1st season but as we keep going, we realize he's the most human out of all characters in Breaking Bad.

@calviopisco I feel like Jesse is almost as a viewer insert. Sure, he's an addict but he's just kinda average compared to most of the cast. I think he feels as much as he should and as much as someone in his place likely would.
The place we found jesse in in s1 is the highest point he as a person could reach in the criminal world, just a young local part time dealer who’s just doing it because of bad encounters and being lost in life with no idea what to do with his future. Since he partnered with walt, by s2 we learn that unlike walt, jesse isn’t built for the next levels where casualties are dropped left and right and you and your family are constantly in danger of death
I never in a million years would've thought a character like Jesse would actually go through with killing a character like Gale. I seriously thought someone or something would miraculously intervene to prevent such a tragedy from taking place. It's EXACTLY the kind of thing that would happen in 99.9% of shows. It's just one of the things that makes Breaking Bad so fucking legendary.
Up until the moment the trigger was pulled I was convinced that he wasn't going to do it and they'd get out of it somehow. But they were trapped, and Breaking Bad is legit, so nope.

@@whitedom2041 With that criteria Walt and Jesse are also meth cooks. But Gale was more innocent than them both. He was a decent man who just had a morally questionable job. But I think the tragedy being refferred to here is Jesse being the one to pull the trigger. Like said in the video, while heavily flawed, Jesse was a heartfelt person. When the show started, he was just a low level drug dealer, that's all. But in this moment he became a murderer, and it nearly broke him.
Yeah when I heard the gunshot I kept denying he actually did it. It was like impossible in my head. When I saw Gale's body my heart sunk, and I knew Jesse would never be the same :(

I completely understood Jesse when I watched this. When I left my ex-wife for cheating on me, I would go out with friends a lot and I would be fine and happy when I was out. However, when I would get back home and be there by myself in silence, it was pure torture to be with my own thoughts.

This is pretty much how I deal with my worst depressive spirals. I’m an extrovert by nature, but when I’m at my lowest I need to constantly surround myself with friends or even acquaintances just being outside doing anything I can to not be left alone with my thoughts.
Podcasts helped me in difficult times like that. Having to start uni during the pandemic as quite an antisocial person who struggled to make friends quickly became the worst experience of my life. Trapped in my room reading online lectures, all I could do was to drown out the silence with endless hours of podcasts. I still do a lot of the time, even though I’m in a better place now.
@@merrybright5732 god i relate so deeply to this. I felt the exact thing when watching Jesse go down this path. I seriously felt his pain. I’ve been battling depression, childhood trauma and anxiety a lot, and being alone with myself have been the hardest moments ever, so i always lashed out. The hardest i’ve ever had it was when my mom died after her 15 years of extreme alcohol abuse and i found her dead body in the living room of her apartment. I did however not react instantly to this event, it was a whole year later, that i started suffering from a deep depression and suicidal thoughts. When i was little i used to be violent, and i stole other kids’ things, later it was a constant need to feel accepted. I’ve constantly sorrounded myself with other people to drown out my dark thoughts. Ofc i could go on for days about this, but my point is i completely understand why Jesse would try to drown out his thoughts with noise or other stimuli, because that’s the only way he could function
When my headphones broke i had to go places while thinking about my life. I hate being alone with my thoughts... especially if you only turn in circles for years... JUST INPUT, even white noise at max volume would be fine tbh.
Gale always struck me as Gus' Jesse. While more formal than the father-son dynamic of Walt and Jesse, Gale had the same exploitable childishness and desire for approval

I think it would be interesting to see Gale take on mentor role to Jesse and teach him everything else about organic chemistry that Walt hadn’t taught him. He certainly would have been a much less toxic mentor for Jesse.
@Clips4All When Gus said he sees things in people, when deciding not to kill walt and jesse, I think what he means is that he sees walt as jesse’s Max. Jesse and Gus are both the distribution, while walt and Max were the chemists. and in both instances, the partners were near inseparable, but I think Gus and Max were more than just business partners and friends.

Gale can do both of that. If anything, Jesse’s past history with his teacher who failed him on his chemistry quiz would be a detriment, not an asset. “i mean he probably thinks the guys some nerd” Isn’t that what Jesse thought of Walt back in season 1 until Walt impressed Jesse by showing how high purity he can achieve? “gale probably thinks he’s some delinquent burnout” The evidence we have is that Gale was quite polite and courteous to Jesse.

I reckon that for Jesse his drug dealing and eventual addiction started as rebellion against his snobby parents but eventually dragged him into a world of crime he wasn't cut out for and couldn't cope with the horrible things he did.
Well, that’s the consequences of rebellion. Jesse finally acknowledges his responsibility for his rebellion when he confesses to his parents, “whatever happened with me, it’s on me”

@@mechadoggy I mean it's good that he takes responsibility for his actions, but we can't deny the parent's mistakes and own responsibility in this. After all, it's mostly our family that shapes us into what we are, for better or for worse.
God, Jesse has really gone through so much trauma. In the beginning, he was cocky, playful, and chill. But once he loses everything, he's quiet, scared, and filled with grief. THIS is what I call character development. Like seriously, the creators really tried to put Jesse's personality change to the absolute limit. You can't help but feel bad for this dude.
Jesse's mental breakdown is acted extremely well. The crippling anxiety and guilt was agonizing to watch and felt quite believable to me.
There's a call back to this episode in the sequel movie El Camino. In the last scene, Jesse gets out of the box truck and says "It's quite" again. But this time with a smile on his face; he finally found real peace
Yeah that was so beautiful and well deserved, he could finally catch a break and leave things behind him.
It’s a contrast to how back when he was in such emotional despair and guilt, he felt this need to surround himself with noise in an effort to numb his conscience. Thank God that Jesse was not successful though, lest he sear his conscience like Walt and become more evil.

@@captaindinkel5480 it's honestly hits close to home. I even said some pretty toxic stuff on here that I won't go into. Suffice to say it said something about how I deserved to be either homeless or dead. When I relapsed last week, the edible didn't feel like anything. It didn't stimulate my imagination or help envision some salvation from my guilt. There wasn't some apotheosis where I'd finally figure out where I'm supposed to be going in life. It was a detached, meaningless state of mind that did nothing but waste my fucking time. I felt disgusted, ashamed, disillusioned, idiotic and just plain sad. The fucked up thing is, I still had the craving for this bullshit, narrowly avoiding making the same mistake several times. I don't even know if I was even properly sober anymore, I still drunk quite often, and got over dropping over and relapsing made it worth. That point about Jessie about not being focused on what he really wanted out of life, it hit even harder. I'm not in Jessie's financial position. I lived a very spoiled life, and for the most part I never had to think about my life beyond "degree, postgrad, job marriage". I even took this bullshit post grad that I narrowly qualified for. To be fair, it's fine, but after seeing how my thesis was rowaly screwed, it sent me into an existential crisis. For the first time i took a step back and realized that I hadn't put any fore thought into who I am, who I was supposed be, and what I actually love doin. I just repeated the same mantra over and over again "degree, postgrad, job, marriage" assuming everything else would fall into place. I never actually took an active step into determining if I was even meant to do any of this stuff. My passions for writing always seemed to run cross purposes to the degree I eventually got, and weed certainly didn't help the situation. Instead of actually looking at what I wanted out of my time at uni, I just got high of my mass in my last two years and got barely satisfactory grades. I even traded some of my stuff for weed money and psychedelics . It was an absolute joke.

This video made me tear up and this comment even more because of how much I relate to it and how much I’m scared to admit it. Always trying to cope by lying to myself that what’s going on isn’t “that bad” or whatever. But hey at least now I realize it and I’m gonna try to work on that! I know this is months old but I hope you’re doing well now, or at least better. Remember that distraction isn’t always good and stay safe.

in what why is jesse a victim? he went to AA meetings to sell meth he got his sober friends hooked on meth again he snitched on walt for dealing with mike who would not let him have the names of the 9 prisoners who were going to rat on walt and jesse and prolly mike himself he got so mad at walt for making brock sick when he didnt go and try burn todds house down for shooting a kid in front of him... brock didnt even die or have lingering health issues he screwed his parents out off 400 thousand for his aunts house because of a meth lab in the basement that was his. it can even be argued that he was the reason jane started using again and resulted in her death..he also took crazuy 8 and emilo straight to walt and the rv in the desert once again ratting out walt jesse also left the keys in the rv draining the battery which nearly killed them both the list goes on and on and on if they killed off jesse in season 1 the show would have been alot different better or worse but jesse is not a victim
oh yeah and he also got brocks mother killed for trying to escape even tho they had their picture up and warned him they would do it and jesse knew that atleast tod was capable of murdering a child

@DimborTheThird Well, from my understanding this is how casting works in the film industry. Take a look at Mark Hamil, all around a decent actor so why didn't he get more roles after star wars? It is because film directors don't like people looking at their movie and saying "luke Skywalker is in this". Aaron Paul's acting is excellent, but he will always be known as Jesse pinkman and typecasted as similar characters. Plus, landing a role in a movie is already hard enough

It launched it, bc he didn't really do a LOT before BrBa (not saying he did NOTHING, but he didn't do a LOT) but I'd say it more secluded and limited his career. BrBa did that with a lotta the actors. It's the best show. It's his peak in acting and earnings wise. It's considered the best show ever. He's gonna have a hard time fi ding roles after that bc he's known as Jesse and exactly like what you said, he's gonna have roles only similar to Jesse bc thats his character. This moment is actually so cutting I always find myself sorta skipping through it every time I watch it. There is no grandiose, epic acting or anything of the sorts, it's just raw, uncomforting grief and cope on the screen. It's why I believe it's so underrated; not because people miss it's point, but just the opposite, everyone got it; and a lot of people just try ignoring and forgetting it, ironically.
The ironic beats of the music in the scene are so tonally perfect.

It truly hurt when Jesse killed Gale, gale didn’t deserve to die, but what was even worse is that Jesse didn’t deserve to have to kill Gale, The only thing worse than death is NEEDING to kill somebody that you don’t want to kill. It’s heartbreaking to see how broken Jesse is at the end of the show

Out of all atrocities, the most evil thing Saul Goodman did (at least for me) is that he sided with Walt even though what Walt did to Jesse was identical to how Chuck treated him.
He didn't really have the full picture, also Walt was pretty much threatening Saul by the end. Also it's worth to point out that Jesse beat him up pretty badly, might have had a negative impact on their relationship.
At that point Saul wasn't in the know of what was really happening. It also go to the point where Walt had him on a leash
Funny enough , Saul took the role of Howard Hamlin. It was like Hamlin's spirit geting vengeance of Saul for what he did.
I hope we get a scene in Better Call Saul on how Walt convinced Saul to steal the ricin cigarette. Its part of the downfall of both Walter and Saul
I think that was the point. Saul isn't Jimmy anymore. He's Heisenberg's pet. He'll drop his morals for a tiny cut of what Walt makes.

I can relate to Jesse a lot. I have anxiety and my thoughts often drift to nothing but self loathing and anger, and unfortunately there’s just not much to do except endure it. One of the many reasons Jesse is the best character in Breaking Bad.

I felt so bad for Jesse, how he was constantly used and manipulated, and what he ended up being in the end. But then that what happens to everyone - This world, as a rule, chews everyone up, and when it no longer has a use for them, spits them out, like an old piece of chewing tobacco. My dad's stepdad taught my dad growing up: "In this world, you're only worth what you can offer.", And when I was a kid, I disagreed, because I thought having that mindset meant low self-esteem, but now as an adult, I damn-near 100% agree.
I still disagree. There are plenty of people who don't offer much and have a good life just like there are people who have a lot to offer and have a shitty life.
Jesse Pinkman is still one of the most tragic characters in TV history.
I can't imagine what it must have felt like to be Jesse in this moment. Awful, horrific, harrowing. He pulled the trigger so he does deserve culpability, but he also deserves sympathy for the position he was in.
FFVII is a fantastic touch, if you think about it, about Cloud and Jesse, about both tried to dissociate hard from traumatic events.

Moments like this scene are exactly why El Camino needed to happen We watched Jesse go through every trauma and saw first hand how little he deserved it. Until we saw him safe and happy with our own eyes, nobody was ever gonna be ok
1:32 I feel like an important note about Gale's character is that he initially wanted to cook meth because he wanted to ensure those who did do crystal at least had a clean, untainted product pure of any substances that could cause even more harm which i feel is a good hearted intention while walter on the other hand became overwhelmed with greed and jesse pinkman was unfortunate enough to get caught up in his schemes. Doesn't really have to do with the topic of he video but just feel like that aspect of Gale' character may have been forgotten or ignored by some viewers, i may be recalling things differently though
Yeah that’s correct. Gale wanted to ensure that customers got what they paid for, optimal quality.

I need to go rewatch breaking bad. I have a completely different outlook on life than when I first watched this. I kicked my 5 year addiction to weed back in July and have truly come to enjoy my life. Before I just kept drowning the hard to confront emotions away by sedating myself the second sobriety started peaking through. Nowadays I've found things to truly live for, I became a Sumo wrestler a few months back and have learned just how trivial the shit that drove me to those dark places was. I have also started actually working on my art instead of lamenting my own inaction. Seeing Jessie working on that box filled me with this indescribable Joy. It felt like I was seeing a part of myself in him.
can I ask you how did you overcame all of this? I suffer frequently from this inaction and melancholia, and I completely understand you, although I'm not addicted. maybe I just end up finding my own noise, just like Jesse.
@@gustavttt4148 honestly the thing that started me on the party to betterment and what keeps me on it is that every day I started saying "new day new me" when I woke up. It allowed me to not have anxiety over what happened the prior day and just work towards getting better. It also helps that what spurned me to start saying that every day would eventually blossom into me becoming a Buddhist. It was comforting ideas like the fact that even those attempting to reach the state of bodhisattva will fall from said path innumerable times. It's like "ok it doesn't matter if I do it flawlessly, just work towards it". It was all subtle shifts in how I viewed the world that started this butterfly effect of positive changes.

@@vincentdegendorfer6091 I wholeheartedly agree. Currently I don't like anything that robs me of my sobriety, I don't drink or smoke anymore. And with a clear head I've started making the biggest advancements in life yet. I've stuck with amateur sumo wrestling for a year and a half, went to my first tournament in October of this year and am prepping for the national tournament in March of next year. Now that I'm not blowing my money on drugs I'm also not spending money on material things I don't have room for. Now every bit of money I make I'm saving towards living off the grid. I used to want to do so many thing when I was high but would be too lazy to do them. Hell I even got into long distance hiking, currently getting myself conditioned so that I can hike the AT in a year or 2. I wouldn't trade sobriety for anything at this point. I'm enjoying life more than I ever have before.

A good portion of the show, we were constantly told that Walt wasn't made for this line of work, cooking and selling meth, the criminal and ruthless acts that came with it. But towards the end we realize that it wasn't Walt, it was Jesse.
I just wanted to give Jesse a big hug throughout the entire series.

When I started my first Breaking Bad I never expected Jesse to become my favorite character, but not only that he also became one of my favorite and most inspiring characters in fiction. It was amazing how invested I kept being with him and how insightful he was at every point in the series, even when he was just the "lazy junkie", and how he actually was just a lost kid that wanted to be seen and that lead him into a spiral of toxicity, endangerment, manipulation and abuse that almost destroys him... but in the end he was free, not at a low price, but free nonetheless. His is one of the few stories in TV media that has brought me to tears and it wouldn't be without the masterful way that this show was crafted and, of course, Aaron Paul magnificent and viceral work with this character that was clear it meant so much to him in every brutal scene (or any scene really) that he had to visuallu portray to us the complex feeling this troubled and lost kind young man was experiencing on the living hell that his life ended up being
What makes all these characters so good is how subtle their characterization is. That's what makes it all so believable. It makes it all feel all the more powerful. It forces you to think and engage with the material. It immerses you in the drama and makes it all the more powerful.
Took me 2 times watching the series to finish it. The first go round I got to the scene of Walt comforting Jesse at the trap house after Jane passed and it haunted me so so much. It took me about a year to start it up again because that scene broke my heart for Jesse and I couldn’t handle watching him spiral anymore. I did rewatch it all and finish the show. That scene still got to me though.
another scene in the show that shows how dark of a place jesse's been in was ep 3 season 3 where he calls jane's number over and over for a day just to hear her voice message
I still do believe this most awakening thing for Jesse in this episode is truly one for the ages. Jesse's spiral into madness and self hatred he never truly recovers from. On top of that we already understand Jesse's actually very sensitive, and probably has a good fucking idea that the drug business wasn't for him afterall. It just hits deep.
This episode is amazing because it shows that Jessie is incredibly smart and a good person at heart. It really sets up the horror of his later captivity beautifully
The fact Aaron never had any acting lessons and pulled this shit off never fails to astound me
The way Jesse digged into his neck like that was pretty disturbing.
He does it when he cries. He also does it in the "I don't know what's wrong with me Mr white" scene
One of the my favorite shots in the show that’s under appreciated is him staring blankly into space while his tv has a psychedelic backround it’s almost as if he’s having a bad mushroom trip realizing he’s such a horrible person it shows the strain this had on his mind and how corrupted he truly is
5:44 I'm glad i wasn't alone on this scene. I was going through a lot of stuff as a teen and Breaking Bad was an escape from that. Jesse sitting in front of his speakers to drown it out and that look on his face hit so close to home.
Jesse was my favorite character in BB. He was the heart and conscious of the show, and Aaron Paul was wonderful in the role.
it’s sad how many times Jesse tried to go another path to change and be happy but Walter kept stringing him back making him miserable :(

Jesse's spiral into depression after killing Gale was when I started to see him as the "good guy" in the story instead of just a rude drug dealer. Before killing Gale, I always saw Walt and Jesse's relationship as Walt trying to be confident and push forward, and Jesse always being a loose end, a mistake that needed to be fixed, since whenever him and Walt were in the same room together, plans went wrong, they got put in danger, and civility never usually lasted long, assuming it was ever there to begin with. But after Jesse killed Gale, that's when I realized the truth about their relationship. It was no longer Walt and Jesse working together to save Walt's family. It had become Heisenberg manipulating and abusing Jesse because of his greed and hunger for power. Season 5 made me feel absolutely terrible for Jesse. And I'm glad he got out of this whole thing in El Camino. Great video man!
I always like to imagine that after El camino Jesse keeps pursuing his interest in woodworking.
Indeed, I usually imagine Jesse as building for himself a house that happens to look a lot like Aaron Paul’s rustic-looking Idaho home which he shares with this blonde woman who happens to look a lot like Aaron’s wife Lauren
I watched breaking bad at a tough time in my life. I’m so happy there is a community who can relate to Jessie like me. We are Jessie in some way, though if that’s the case, hopefully we will all get to heal❤️
For me, the scene with jesse in the box always breaks me. That, and the juxtaposition of him cooking after, is the most tragic scene in the series for me. However, after watching el camino and then revisiting breaking bad... idk. It made a scene a little less tragic. Because now we have the foreknowledge that jesse 100% gets to try again.
Is El Camino a good sequel?
@@seemonuzumaki723 more of an epilogue, but yes. There's some minor continuity errors like actors looking a little... different, compared to how they looked in breaking bad. But other than that it's a really good send off for jesse as a character.
@@seemonuzumaki723 It's alright. It doesn't harm any of the characters but it isn't great either. If you're very satisfied with the ending of the show and don't feel a need to see where Jesse's story goes then no need to watch it.
Just stumbled on this vid after a bit of a breaking bad youtube binge. I watched Breaking Bad recently to completion kinda for the same reason Jesse does what he does. I always noticed a lot of similarities between Jesse's issues, (and Hank's ptsd) his coping mechanism and mine. To me its incredibly relatable. But the way you described what is actually going on in Jesse' mind perfectly describes my own psyche at this point. I suffer from a lot of things I don't even know the names of or that have accurately been diagnosed but what you describe is 100% accurate to my case. I have a vast library of media and youtube that I consume pretty much a long as I'm awake cause the moment it stops I get lost in my mind reliving my trauma, thoughts that just ruin me and feeling miserable. One thing I disagree with is "No life isn't without its moments of silence", the world around you might quiet down but it only causes you to become aware of the pictures and thoughts that constantly run trough your mind and scream at you.(That's the scene with Jesse that haunts you and a scene I'm way to familiar with) You miss that silence, I crave that silence, to just hear nothing and feel calm. Anyway, good video, you really nailed Jesse's psyche there, good job!
Glad you enjoyed the video. To clarify, you misunderstood what I meant by silence and what you said is totally in line with my point, that isn’t a disagreement. The “silence” is the world quieting around you. And in those times this sort of trauma can be the most painful, as it is here. It’s directly applied to Jesse’s situation and why the silence is deafening.
I have never appreciated a character in The live-action show as much as Jesse Pinkman he's as human as it gets not saying a lot seen as he is a human but he's the best and worst of all of us which is quite beautiful

When I saw the Jesse kill Gale, I kept trying to think of another explanation. Trying to think of a way he didn't actually do it, like he missed or shot to the side. I was so afraid to see him go down that path.
this scene actually genuinely made me relapse, kind of a testament to how powerful this part is. i fell back down the hole with all three of those characters 😅

I've never watch this episode and thought "this could happen to anyone, even me". After dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts this seems very familiar to me now. The ocasional company, parties and loud noises are the worst way to get out of your mind. Poor Jesse, do not ever took the way of escapism.

I feel really bad for Jesse; he is a very imperfect, flawed person but you can see that he definitely grew more mature and compassionate as the series progressed. But he got so continuously screwed over by Walt, the cartel, and just circumstance that he never got a truly happy ending. While he could find peace eventually, he'll always be on the run
That “damn man, it’s quiet” is one of those realistic meth moments of the show. He says it the second the song ends, and when you’re on meth that’s always a sensation you get when music or tv suddenly stop. Such a brilliantly written show
To me Jesse and the machine he's bought his sound system in question is very iconic because it sticks with you when the colors flash over his gaze it's something I won't forget tbh.
"Traded it for an ounce of weed" as with all our aspirations, hopes - the substance of who we are - traded for a cheap high. We don't consume the drug. It consumes us.

I've recently finally gotten into watching Breaking Bad at a time where I consider a low point. I resonated with Jesse trying to run away and hide from his trauma (although I considers mine to be negligible, probably to my detriment). Your video poped up in my recommended and watching it made me realize more that may be I've also been hiding or running away from my traumas. It thrusted me into a downward spiral where I am still trying to figure out a solution to help me climb out, and hindered further by various expectations, responsibilities, and fear for the future. Great analysis of Jesse's mental state and storywriting, it's made me appreciate the series even more, thanks!

I just finished breaking bad and in my opinion I related to Jesse more than Walter through the show. Something about always being in a predicament that feels out of one’s control while trying to maintain sanity reflects many of the issues youth have while allowing us to feel cathartic through the actions Jesse takes to find peace. We all relate somehow and I wish I could have found this show earlier in my life

Damn, your explanation of Jesse during this video made me understand and relate to Jesse in a whole different way, throughout the series I definitely loved his character and saw how much he suffered, but this explanation mentioned some things that totally flew over my head that really shouldn’t have, mostly when you really pointed out him buying the speakers and at the end him sitting as close to the speaker as he could get as he clawed at himself, I’ve always loved music in my life and I’ve been through a lot, but a year and a half ago I went through a really really bad break up of a 2 year long relationship and…It destroyed me. Left me at my lowest, in my most depressed state I’d ever been, even with everything I’ve already been through(Family issues, abuse, school issues, etc.) But that break up effected me so bad, I still to this day don’t know why, but anyways afterwards the ONLY thing that helped me wake up in the morning was BLASTING music, specifically Juice WRLD. I had to constantly be BLASTING music to escape the awful thoughts in my head, and I’ve changed soooooo much since that break up and honestly saw the world through an entirely different lense every since then and constantly- to this day- RIGHT NOW I’m blasting music- Juice WRLD. Doesn’t matter how many times I listen to each song, it doesnt get old. It’s inspired me to write a few songs of my own, I haven’t done much with that yet but I plan to do more, but I’ve connected with Juice and his music so much since then and its really been a big part of my life and this video truly made me connect with Jesse even more when you explained that he needed music to drown away his thoughts and pain. Thank you so much for this video.

I love him in Breaking Bad and Bojack Horseman. Aaron is one of the actors I’ve seen in a long time. If someone else played Jesse it wouldn’t have been as much of a gut punch or funny as he masterfully portrays.
The great George Mastras wrote 4x02 "Thirty-Eight Snub," who also wrote many of the great episodes (Kafkaesque, Crawl Space, Dead Freight, To'hajiilee...). Jesse is a perfectly constructed character. Since Gale's death, his character development went on a much higher level and didn't stop until the end of the series. Vince's decision to leave Jesse was one of the best things he ever did.

The box speech is so brilliant in its own way because it tells you the EXACT problem with Jesse and Walt’s relationship. In the pilot Walt says he “didn’t expect much” of Jesse and in the four day cook episode he assume’s Jesse needs his GED but Jesse graduated and got his diploma Compare Walt to the shop teacher who asked “is this the best you can do” instead of telling Jesse what his best was
One small correction: Walt telling Jesse he needs a GED wasn't shown in 4 Days Out, it was shown in a flashback in El Camino which took place after 4 Days Out
