Poor Thiem, it’s sad that these injuries are holding him down
yaa...
I am so upset. I was suchs Thiem Fan these guys go through so much!
@@skylar6818 Yes but del Potro was way worst so many injury
It's the stomach flu.
I can't believe people still think injury is the reason for Thiem's incompetence...
As a fan it’s infuriating and upsetting to see Theim not get far in these slams because of injury set backs. Lord knows how he must feel about it. ☹️
No Lord is needed. Everyone knows how that feels.
He confirmed that is not the wrist, he had a stomacheasche
He suffered from a gastritis before this tournament, so had to pull out from Winston Salem. His stomach startet cramping again in the middle of the first set.
He will retire soon 😢
On a positive note, from this match and the match against Bublik, looks like Thiem's getting his aggressive style back especially on his forehand. Hope he can recover and bring out his full style in future games
Would be great to see Thiem finding his form. Can't come soon enough.
Thiem has been having the stomach problems for several weeks now. This is not normal. I hope it's not something serious, he should get a thorough check. He had long-term digestive problems as a young player which delayed his breakthrough on tour. Such a unique, phenomenal player, and just can't get a break. When his chronically sore foot got OK in 2021, he broke his wrist, and two years later, he's still sick.
More excuses 🤦♂️
@@chentye4494someone doesn't know what excuses are.
Prob anxiety
@@chentye4494bro doesn’t check the news before making his comments
I'm still happy he's won a slam and masters, given us many matches over the years to enjoy, and pushed the big 3 very hard! So given all his recent struggles, I think he should look at everything he does from this point on as a bonus. It will be that much sweeter when he makes another breakthrough, I truly believe he's got it in him :) time will tell!
All the best for Dominic ❤
Sad to see Thiem retire from the match. He has struggled a lot this season and he had a chance to make the fourth round.
Man, this stomach bug came at a really unfortunate time. Sad for Thiem, who looked like he was almost back to his old best.
Pooor Thiem does not deserve to be injured again, such a lovely person
I am telling you thiem is back and he is going to take big title in his name in next year
I hope so
...
Hope thiem can permanently recover soon. Shelton kid plays well
Theim is like the del potro of our generation. 1 uso, plagued with injuries. I really want to see him come back
Delpo is not so old though, 5 years of difference between them
Them es una persona que todos esperábamos su retorno !! Esperamos que no se rinda!!! Hasta la próxima !
It's not the injury, he wasn't just feeling ok. Could have retired before the match, but thankfully we saw 1 set.
thiem is back obviously , see you in big titles soon
You're watching the highlights and then .... BOOM Thiem can't play anymore, without an explanation. You guys could have made the effort of putting 2 3 seconds on why he stopped 😅
Be strong in your belief Dominic and you'll do well in the near future!
Thiem is coming back i hope you feel better soon. 🎾 Congratulations to the opponents 👏👏👏👏
Sad for thiem but this shelton guy has some serious game.
Such a shame for Domi, his section of the draw opened up quite nicely & he was playing well 😔
Thiem has been playing so well. What a shame.
It was setting up to be a thrilling battle. Let's hope Thiem bounces back. A win is still a win for Shelton.
Benny really enjoyed himself out there, strong performance
I am really sorrowful for the injury of Thiem. Until Thiem gets injured, we have watched such a thrilling clash. It could have been an epic showdown from 5 sets. Especially, the mobility, compliance and movement of Shelton have nurtured in accordance with the beginning of the season.
Bublik kicking the floor right now
hurts to see this... cant believe thiem is already having these injurires at 29. i cannot relate since i am not a professional athlete but i havent been able to play tennis now for a month and im 30... used to playing 4 times a week and working on my flexibiliy and strength 4 days a week, always warm up, feels like im doing everything right and now i cant play the sport that i love. i hope with his resources thiem can heal up and keep playing some more years
He's not dealing with injuries, the wrist was already OK last year. But he's often sick, he has some (possibly chronic) health problems. Besides, he'll turn 30 on Sunday, and as for "already" having injuries at his age, guys like Alcaraz have more frequent injuries already at 20. Professional tennis players are simply injured all the time, it's a brutal sport.
Based on recent form I'm starting to believe Thiem can return to the top 50, maybe even the top 40.
just when he was finally getting back in form, that must be so infuriating for him. i've been a fan for such a long time and the injury set backs are so annoying. hopefully quick recovery for domi.
Sad to see Thiem leave with injuries again!
720p in 2023 well done
And I thought Shelton Actually beat DT 🤣
always trust and hope your luck...
Thiem should switch racquets. That one is a wrist killer (not to mention the elbow and shoulder...).
It's not his wrist. He's ill.
@@antheiheiant I thought he was out for a few years due to injury? I think he should have made a racquet change. I understand he was "sick" in this match and pulled out, but I think his previous injury issues were due to his racquet. I have used it and so have friends of mine who are high-level players. Not the best for the arm.
Great win by Shelton. I think he has the potential to equal Tiafoes achievements
thiem and delpo i just wonder how close they are to depression. man that must hurt to be held back so hard by life :(
And poor Delpo don't forget finances also... ouch!
Depression doesn't exist
So what happened? Why they don’t show ?
*Thiem 🥺*
People don't know, Dominic Thiems UTR is a 15.43
thats why the tour doesnt consider it
He is very unlucky, got injured right at his peak and he lacks confidence
What's UTR?
STOP SHOWING THE WINNER IN THE THUMBNAIL
hes not the only 1 having been forced to retire at this year's US Open. Thiem was vaccinated in 2021 still he got ill 1 year later and again this time. And hes not the only one having gotten ill or died vaccinated in the world
every time a player withdraws from a match the commentators say for the other player "certainly not the way he would like to win the match". I'm sure any player who has won a match this way would prefer to go all the way to a crippling five setter instead of going back to his hotel with a one set win, get some rest and replete his tank until the next game. I'm sure every professional who competes for thousands or million dollar prizes, deep down in his heart, will always choose the dignified, knight's way instead of the *efficient* way to move ahead on the tournament. Yeah right...
If Ben Shelton can truly get a coach like John McEnroe to help him use that lefty serve and impliment a true Serve/Volley game, Ben has top 4 talent 4 sure...
He's got an insteresting game style for sure, but anytime i've seen him against top 20's kids he leaves like 6-2-, 6-2
Losing to Nadal at FO 2018 and 19 seemed to seal his fate, at least he got U.S. Open 2020.
Thiem just can't keep up any momentum. His game is full throttle and it takes too much out of his already susceptible body. Ben was playing like he'd pull off the upset anyway. Sometimes you need some luck.
Anyone else find Shelton kind of obnoxious?
His yell certainly is. Give him time to iron out his personality.
He'd fit right in playing a zombie in a weird movie about fast agile ones that still make that sound.
Shelton has the face of a Brazilian
Лучше Бублик прошол бы
Anyone else just cant stand sheltons grunt?
Same.
I can. Just not Munar's 🤣
Definitely the way he wanted to finish the match.... Lol
Like how does He know that He didnt wanna finish the Match this way? 😂
2:10 that's got to be the most annoying grunt ever, even worse than Zapata Miralles 😂
But I was so so happy to see that he won the first round in US Open:D Hope he will recover quickly 🥲
Retire already Thiem. You’re not making a comeback and you’re taking spots in grand slams from others who can actually compete
Why do you always show who the winner is from the start ? It’s annoying AF !!!
It's a shame for Dominic
This is so painful. Once you're injured in tennis even it's recovered there's 90% to reaccuring 😢. Djokovic never get injury even minor. Lucky for him
You re not right. Actually Nole had serious surgery on the elbow and because of that he had to chande his serve and ground strokes and also he has one bigger problem and thats his diet and so far he found it he was strug. on courts especially on heats.
He had a two year issue with his elbow in 2016-2018. His 2017 season was essentially a write off because of it but he had success before and after it in 2016 and 2018 but it impacted him for 8 slams. Its the reason Roger was able to win 3 slams during that period. Not a chance Roger beats him at the Australian open.
Rip domi... This would have been an epic if he didn't retire.
Pity thiem couldnt come back
If thiem was healthy he would be easily top 5 or 3
I agree. You can tell during the handshake he’s at the verge of collapsing and hardly has enough strength to keep his head up 😣❤️🩹
Let's go americans keep on going!!!
Problemas emocionales
😊
Another Injury hold him down. Sad.
Feeling sad for thiem. At least he got a first round free pass with a clown who should investigated for match fixing on the back of that
Looks like Bublik was right 🤣
Lol, yeah.
Covid
Maybe bublik was right ahah Thiem is finish Better if he stop with tennis
Imagine telling someone to quit their career because they have a stomach bug.
@@antheiheiant imagine to forget to tell someone that he have always an injury
@@Manubussi92And who is that "someone"? Certainly not Thiem.
@@J.-M. nono thiem is always in great shape
@@Manubussi92As antoniah.2753 already told you, he had stomach problems, he's not dealing with injuries. You just ignored it and kept talking about injuries, because you obviously have a habit of talking about things you have no clue about.
Thiem ist eine Pfeife.
Nobody wants to see thiem...retire man ua done
Please Thiem, just retire... Your game takes too much energy to be able to keep up with the new guys... Just quit...
He has the stomach flu. Have you watched any of his recent matches? Because they would show you that you're in fact wrong
@@antheiheiant 😂.... sure...
Thomas Muster said something about Thiem, we forgot it
nice at least bookmakers are paid after first set finished...all arranged
