Rafa vs Dominic matches are almost always high quality occasions. I feel sorry for the tennis balls 🎾
That’s very true actually
Wheee is thiem now
@@hsiehvin5303 he's coming back on tour next month he's recovering from his wrist injury sustained at the mallorca open
Almost ?
Most intense matchup, especially on clay. Their top spin rallies are insane.
One of the best matches I’ve ever seen in 50 years of watching tennis - quite brilliant and a shame that one of them had to lose, but really pleased for Theim
I totally agree
Yup, to me only Nadal - Federer at the Wimbledon Final 2008 tops this one...
Djokovic Thiem WTF 2019
Yes and the fact that it didn't go to a 3rd
Missing both of them so much
Saw this live and I gotta say this was surely one of the highest quality matches I've ever watched yet
How are you thiem
I thought audiences weren’t allowed
But the stadium was empty
@@al-aminmumuney7566 Sorry I meant the quality of their gameplay
There were no audience members... unless you were a ball kid or something
Thiem’s hard court game has really gone through an evolution. Remember he was called a clay court specialist in 2016? His form has drastically changed. Especially his forehand and serve
He’s above average 2016-2020 on non-clay, but still clay is his strength. USO is an asterisk because there’s no way in the world Djoker is losing that is he doesn’t throat slam the line judge.
@@seanhillery1231 No, it still counts for Thiem. Do not undersell Thiem achievement. Staying on the court is also part of the game.
@@seanhillery1231 He beat Rublev, Medvedev and Zverev to win the 2020 USO. 2019 USO series Medvedev till present is no joke. Zverev and Rublev were very good in 2020 as well. Thiem beat Djokovic at the 2019 FO and in two thrillers at the World Tour Finals. He beat Nadal at the 2020 AO and pushed Djokovic to the brink. Moreover, he beat Federer to win Indian Wells. Dominic's credentials show that he absolutely deserved his slam win notwithstanding Djokovics dq.
He’s still dogshit on grass
I miss Thiem so much, when in form He crushes those shots( Especially the BH) like no other...Cld easily deal with strong Baseline Players like Djokovic, Nadal, Medvedev..He also improved his Net game, Slice and Volleys..I hope He returns to Form to have a Fantastic year of 2022.
I ALSO HOPE THIEM RETURNS IN FULL FORM IN 2022. MISS HIM ESPECIALLY HIS BACK HAND SHOTS. I THINK, THAT THEY R BETTER THAN FEDERERRRR.
Best ATP Match of the year for me. Every point was crucial in the match. I was watched it live. Such a tense watch!
I miss both these guys Nadal has to have one of the best volleys on tour now
It was a real shame that this match was played without an audience. It seems less epic than it was.
agree
This match up always brings epic contest! I mean this match and the AO 2020 quarter or USO 2018....
what a strong competition on hardcourt since 2018 with medvedev, thiem and zverev. Since the atp finals 2018, someone from this 3 players reached the finals by the Hardcourt grandslams or ATP Finals
Well except AO 2019, that was Nadal and Djokovic.
lol thiem and zverev amd that is stong competition 😂
Waiting for your comeback domi🔥
I was watching the 3 minute highlights of this yesterday and now I can watch 16 minute highlights good timing!!! 😎👍
This is definitely one of the best matches of all times at the atp finals. perfect playing from both.
Probably one of the best matches Rafa has ever played indoors but Thiem really brought it that year
This was like watching a movie that your friend has spoiled for you.
we needa see thiem back
He’ll be back in December
People don't realise how INSANELY HARD these two guys are hitting the ball. They are literally smashing the ball. THATS WHY WE NEED COURT LEVEL VIEW!!!! This perspective doesn't do justice for the amazing sport that tennis is, and as the atp tour, you guys should feel the responsability to change that! PS: At least upload all highlights with court level view as well, and provide much more points with court level view during TV streams.
They need to create demand for actual tickets
its because they want to show advertisements. and while many of us (especially me) really really really want court level. lots of traditional tennis fans don't care for it as its been this way for so long. it also doesn't equally portray both players. i think they should have an option to watch court level live, but mostly for sponsorship reasons they don't do it, the cameras are strategically placed yk
This is making us realise how empty this season was without both of them! May they return strong, healthy and back in form. 🙏🙏🇪🇸🇦🇹
I was watching this again today while eating and saw that Thiem retiring end of this season on Instagram... Such an amazing player, wished he never had that wrist injury. Man wish we could see him play against Alcaraz with his 2020 form
That brings back some good memories!!! Miss them so much. Every ball exchange was just so extraordinary, just watch the 5 points in arow in the sixth game of the first set..
Nadal played at a very high level, but Thiem's clutchness was off-the-charts.
Nadal choked a backhand during a 6-5 Lead in the 1st Set Tiebreak.
@@kaisalkaisal6303 Nadal also got a lucky bounce on a volley over the net down 4-5 in the second on a match point. It was close and very competitive, but Thiem was slightly the better player.
Tennis needs them back at this level!
Amazing match, this one deserved a third set
Memorias del futbol

@@fabrizioalza9428 lmao no😂
Seriously, this is another level of power. Cant compare this to Medvedev Djokovic matches, sorry.
Atp cup Match between djoker and meddy is equally genius
This year's finals have a horrible field. Lots of servebot pushers (Zverev, Medvedev, Hurkacz, Djokovic), a bunch of brainless forehand ballbashers (Berrettini, Rublev), and only two guys whose game is based on controlled aggression, but one of them is injured (Tsitsipas), and one is primarily a claycourter (Ruud) This sport desperately needs Thiem and Nadal back
why are you unnecessarily dragging them ?
@@LeMasterTrollious hurkacz is not a pusher , berritini is not brainless , djokovic and medvedev are not serve bots
@@raghumanda2tanush496 what? Berrettini is the definition of brainless, Medvedev is very much a servebot pusher, and Djokovic has devolved into one too lately, and Hurkacz is VERY much a pusher Worst finals ever without a doubt
9:10 surely one of the best iside-out forehands you will ever set eyes on
I cannot wait to see these two back at the tour
And now we miss watching these 2 playing
What a match between those brillant tennis player ! Hope to see Dominic back at this level soon !
The look of this court is beautiful definitely my favorite court look
What underrated match Their battles always great🔥🔥
That was insane tennis from both players, Thiem fireworks saved him at the end
With the serve as exception (maybe backhand as well), Nadal plays all the shots with perfection, as he showed in this match: volley, forehand, drop shot, slice, smash... Such a technical player 🤩👏👏
I sure miss these two! Hurry back guys!
This is one of the best indoor matches rafa has ever played....thiem was just too good. Great match
It's so good to watch some proper tennis that's not only Serving points
Worth watching endlessly ......
Incredible quality
Miss them
"Masters (finals)" is an adequate title for this series of tournaments. Masters they are!
I forgot how ridiculous Thiem's backhand is. Goodness!
Brilliant!!
Miss them both 😟 see you soon ❤️
Curiously, the matches between them was insane on card court, even better than the ones on clay whereas they're both clay court specialist
Theim has improved so much 🔥
I still can't understand how Dominic lost that Atp Finals
It amazes me that he has not won a WTF, considering his form in both the 2019 and 2020 editions. That being said, the Austrian lost to Medvedev, who was also in spectacular form. Had Nadal finished the job in the semis vs the Russian, Thiem probably would have won the final.
It was one of his biggest problems that he underperformed in finals being the favourite. Everyone expected US Open final 2020 to be straight sets affair, but Thiem was not himself for 1,5 of sets due to nervousnes. If he had not recovered then, it would have been even the worse case of a player destroyed by the inner psychological drama (being physically OK) than the case of Novak Djokovic in US 2021.
That was an amazing match really close
Fabulous! I wish we could see Thiem back to his best in 2024.
Huge Rafan here, but God I miss both so much, not solely my beloved Rafa. Their battles are so exciting. I have just two favorites on Tour rn, Alcaraz and Ruud, with different styles, but which matching my taste, But I reckon I need so much the other two, in order to see some competitive tennis therefore I’m looking forward to seeing them back again, hopefully starting with December.
I hope he comes back strong next year
These two like two huge battleships firing heavy artillery at each other. Thiem one of the very few players who on his day can beat Nadal at his own game.
I miss Thiem, hope he returns to the tour pretty soon!
I always say that this was a top 5 match of the year. Probably the best two set match ever.
2019 beat Roger & Novak - lost final 2020 beat Rafa & Novak - lost final sad for him
Not too many lull’s in quality!! Very fun!!
One have liked to see Thiem s great play a longer period at atp top ranking .
Best tennis match ever
Toutes mes FELICITATIONS POUR CE BEAU MATCH. This vid makin me miss thiem even more. I wanna see him play again so bad
I hope they both comeback healthy tennis needs them
Thiem’s prime is absolutly insane
Two monsters one great tennis match. A classic show.
ombelieeable
I would answer YES 🙌
What song is used in the intro when they are walking on to the court?
0:56 was the cleanest, most silent volley I’ve ever seen. Rafa has insane feel to take so much off of a Thiem forehand. 5:34 too. These drop shots and drop volleys are crazy
lol, you have got to be kidding me. Spoken like somebody who doesn't play tennis
@@The_Great_One Sorry I didn’t praise your father, lord and savior in this comment. It won’t happen again. I just thought it was okay to praise another player since Federer wasn’t in this match but clearly I need to watch my behavior in the future. Only Federer can receive praise; I should change my username to the Great One and make my profile picture naked Federer. My apologies.
@@SJ-di5zu lol, shut up clown. Fed has got nothing to do with this. Anyone that plays tennis at a decent level, knows that a drop volley of that kind isn't too difficult to execute. The Thiem forehand wasn't even struck that well either lol. If that's the best volley you have seen, then watch more tennis lolol
@@The_Great_One You mean two highlights praised by the obviously clueless commentator and posted in a highlight reel of an amazing match arent impressive at all? I heard the other top 8 players were watching this match and called it “PlayStation tennis” because they were playing so well. But yeah, I suppose it didn’t feature your daddy Federer playing in only his underwear so it couldn’t be THAT great of a match, could it? Again, I sincerely apologize for not including any comments about how beautiful Federer looks without a shirt on in my comment.
Really high quality but the current young generation players play at ridiculously high levels like never seen in my 20plus yrs of watching tennis. So many matches of this caliber these days. And I'm a huge fan of Thiem.
Miss both of them, hopefully they return in good form next year.
In this match Rafa shoe some class
Too bad God have not given us tennis fan a chance to witness this Thiem vs current Alcaraz. Let's hope that day will come.
I miss thiem maan
Best straight sets match! That match was thrilling. Very nice title tennis tv!
Incredible match the old guard Nadal versus the new generation Thiem slugging it out pound.for pound, Tennis at the highest quality both athletes gave it everything however this is why Thiem won a Grand slam if he is injury free he is a force to reckon with among the new elite generational tennis stars yeee
Extremely weird footage. Some of the points are filmed on a choppy 30 fps, others on a smooth 60 fps, doesn't do these beautiful highlights any justice...
for me it seems thiem plays according to level of his opponent. he doesnt seems dominate even most of his winning match like nadal federer or djokovic. but for sure he is one hell of a fighter
yes I would say so
The serve at 10:51 was absolutely gnarly!
congratulation Thiem
hopefully they can both be back where they belong in 2022
What great highlights from a fantastic match! I love both Nadal and Thiem so it was a pleasure to watch high quality tennis from both of them! Nadal really has a special touch at net
Lol from the title I was expecting 6-0 6-0
How if it said “Best” straight sets match
Damn i missed this time so much, Nadal play with hugh intensity and some coolest shots on hard court but of course thiem was too good on that day
I really miss these two heavy hitters...
It was really a High octane , lung busting tennis match. Would be thankful to tennistv to see whole match .
Over a year since thiem won us open. And nothing but injuries since 😞
Nadal is INCREDIBLY graceful in defeat, I like him a lot for this.
Hitting topspin shot towards single hander's backhand in a slower court - is a well tested strategy by Nadal. But, didn't work against Theim here as Theim also thrives there with his backhand.
Just want to see Nadal win once and one more Australian Open before retirement.
And he did just that!!!
The point at 7:19 - this could have been a completely different match if Thiem missed the forehand at the end
Roger playing with a good backhand and not hugging baseline and grinding = Thiem
Thiem's coach at 9:15 notices camera on him and makes eye contact he's like "do you see this ridiculousness we're witnessing?"
Rafa’s inside out forehead must be generating panic in his opponent. How can they even walk after the first set itself?
Nadal's volleys looking crisp.
I think Thiem is the only player with a one handed backhand that can slide with his left foot.
just one year, but like everybody forgot who is thiem ,and no see players were talk anything about him in interviews
Answer: Yes.
I miss Thiem and Ryo Shosuke's comments
I really miss thiem.
The match was incredible, unfortunately the absence of audience made it look like a training match. It's not the same emotion watching tennis this way!
Being a Domi fan, this match was my favourite Domi match in 2020 CONSIDERING he won the US Open😍
