    • man bat true color? So him being very upset at losing slam finals to his rivals is in some way a disgrace or something? You have probably never come close to caring as much about anything and these guys care about tennis... u dont understand what it feels like for them. Him crying is nothing to talk down about, pretty sure Djoker and Rafa have done the same in their locker rooms.

    • @man bat ??? What's wrong with crying, he loves the sport and he has emotions. He got frustrated and he expressed it that way, that's a consequence of caring so much about tennis. He has also cried many times he has won, Rafa "sobbed like a girl" last US Open and even cried when RF won Roland Garros, Novak couldn't manage disappointment after losing in the Olympics and "sobbed like a girl" as well. Those are emotions of passion, it's a shame you don't understand that, because it's one of the most beautiful things about the sport

  • My two favorite players. But Federer's won everything possible so I'm kind of glad it's Thiem this time. Every time I see Thiem playing that good, I remember watching him as a 'nobody', a kid with lacks in technique, losing focus all the time, struggling hard on his games, switching from great plays to the worst within minutes. But even then I knew that was the boy worth watching, that he was gonna be great one day. And now he's one of the best in the business and yet a lot to come for him in his career. Great match, great to live in current times to be able to watch it all live. I've always thought this way about Federer, Nadal and Djokovic era but we can sleep calmly, they have great successors.

  • Federer is sui generis. As far as I can tell, there has never been a player like him. Nor are we likely to see a player like him again. There is nothing he cannot do on the tennis court. Including blowing match points, winning matches after saving match points, losing matches despite winning more points, playing better tennis and losing, creating more BP opportunities than (possibly) any other player and then wasting almost all of them - and so on. Really, the number of ways he can win and lose tennis matches is unparalleled. It's come to a point where it doesn't even matter if Nadal and Djokovic overtake him in slams. There's a certain "wholeness" about Federer's game, a "roundedness" that has the capacity to embrace both his sublime talent and his all-too-human frailties that is completely beyond compare (in a way perhaps only true "genius" is).

    • We love Federer because he has an all around game that encompasses every shot possible in the book AND MORE. He also has the ability to execute every one of these shots almost perfectly. No other player has as much selection in shots and even if they do, its probably not going to be executed at the same level as Fed's. He is human, gets nervous sometimes, but what we love the most about his game is also that he's an offensive shot maker. We can talk about what decisions he made on his shot selections for his match points won or lost, but its cool he has the ability to do that. Sometimes its just a gamble when it comes to offense. If the opponent guesses right, then that's game!

    • @@UchihABitachi Well said friend. Federer is really like this. He dares to go for his shots, even at the crunchest of time in the match. Not many players can do that, and thats why we love him the most ❤

    • @@UchihABitachi Agree, but may I add that Thiem is also a great offensive shot maker who take risks. Thats why I prefer them by far over Djokovic or any player following the defense school of the game. Because thats just so boring. Murray would be another example of playing somehow like Djokovic....

    • @@philippboetcher9959 Yes this is true, but as far as the amount of shot selection and skill in executing these shots, that all goes to Federer. Incredibly talented. Thiem is also a good all around player as well. Although mastery in other shots are lacking compared to Federer, his FH and BH groundstrokes are monstrous bc of the amount of pace and spin he puts on those shots. This type of style is what we are currently seeing with all the New Next Gen players. The "Modern Gen Forehand" that is extremely heavy. Thiem, Kyrgios, Jack Sock have them so far. Not sure about the rest. Its because of Thiem's athleticism & endurance to hit monster groundstroke after monster groundstroke (kind of like Stan does) that he's gotten to where he is now. He is able to produce this very consistently, but it is a very tiring style of play.

  • You can really tell how Thiem has an advantage over Federer because of how much power Thiem has and that Roger has slowed down a little due to his old age (Djokovic fans don’t you go bitching in the comments)

    • Hm yes, Roger and Thiem are friends 😊 but Thiem is probably not his favorite player to play against... their H2H stats are 5:2 for Thiem (and 5:1 in the last 4 years). Thiem also leads the H2H stats of the last few years against Djokovic (4:2) but not against Nadal. Thiem has an advantage with his powerful play.. but it doesn't help that much against other very powerful players (like e.g. Nadal and Schwartzman)
