Roger is genuinely happy for Thiem, he knows Thiem played well and deserves it.
@man bat Maybe but I get the idea he genuinely likes Thiem and was happy for him. They are like mates i think.
man bat true color? So him being very upset at losing slam finals to his rivals is in some way a disgrace or something? You have probably never come close to caring as much about anything and these guys care about tennis... u dont understand what it feels like for them. Him crying is nothing to talk down about, pretty sure Djoker and Rafa have done the same in their locker rooms.
@man bat ??? What's wrong with crying, he loves the sport and he has emotions. He got frustrated and he expressed it that way, that's a consequence of caring so much about tennis. He has also cried many times he has won, Rafa "sobbed like a girl" last US Open and even cried when RF won Roland Garros, Novak couldn't manage disappointment after losing in the Olympics and "sobbed like a girl" as well. Those are emotions of passion, it's a shame you don't understand that, because it's one of the most beautiful things about the sport
man bat I wouldn’t call the Djokovic loss humiliating
Only because it ain't no grand slam. He doesn't really care about these "minor" tournaments. Same goes for Serena. She can't really go ballistic the way she does at the US Open. Never seen Federer cry at Indian Wells...
Federer really looked like he enjoyed hitting this one. Great to see both players with big smiles at the end.
i dont mean to be offtopic but does someone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the password. I love any help you can offer me.

I want to thank Tennis TV for bringing us extended highlights from great tennis matches, so that all of us at home can enjoy during this hard times we're facing. Stay safe everyone!
Thiem during this match: I'll just hit harder
😂😂😂 I stg he used that first set as a warm up... cuz the other two he was hitting bombs
😂
Hahaha 🤣🤣
Although hes a beast of a player, its unfortunate though his playing style requires so much energy and is prone to injury. But when Theim is fire, none of the big 3 can stop him from dropping bombs
@@jeremylofipo8536 yeah alongside medvedev he might be the only one to defeat big 3 more consistently
Tennis fans in january: ATP Cup is gonig to be the best tournament of the year Tennis fans in march: ATP Cup is going to be the only tournament of the year
I mean we had the Australian open, dubai, Acapulco, and Rotterdam too
Lol, the way things are going, you may be right :-(
He won us open 2020
@@syedhassany9683 Us open, Roland Garros?
@man bat get a life
Roger was so close to having 3 straight Indian Wells titles from '17- '19! He should have been serving for the match at 5-3 in the 3rd! This match and the year before with Delpo were great to watch!
2019 choker year
@@vs-id9yrstarted with that delpo match in 2018
I love how at the end Federer looks the happiest that Thiem won, that’s great sportsmanship to be genuinely happy for Thiem and his tennis career.
@man bat where are your records
@@tea4781 he has none and he is the saltiest Federer hater and has to respond to every Federer comment, and his highlight of the year is probably all of the people responding to his copy and pasted comments on this video
That is the happiest I've seen Federer after losing a match.
I watch these highlights all the time with no hard feelings despite being a massive Fed fan. This match was filled with great quality tennis, and Thiem earned the win. Anyone agree with me?
Just Federer older Thiem than more 14 year? It's doesn't matter??
I wonder if you would say the same if Fed was playing against Djokovic and lost
100 % yes!
@@Mahalakshmi-Khan bruh do you have a single brain cell? People are happy for THIEM because it was his first masters. If it was Djokovic that would be nothing special
This maybe be from 2019 but.. seeing Roger smiling for Thiem's trophy lifting is very cool, such great champions
Sim W he trying not cry
Oliver McCall same I usually see u on the comments lol
TRUE!
@man bat Nothing tops Djokovic crying at the Olympics though😅
18:06 I think Roger is more happy than Dominic himself What a legend 🙏😂
Yes, he looks happy to see new gen flourish, especially when he was the inspiration to a few of them
I just think Tommy made some silly joke in his ear. But yeah, he's happy for Thiem.
its a case of everybody loves Dominic. such a sweet personality.
Have you ever seen 20 grand slam together???yes because Federer shows you when you f*ck yourself alone
@man bat lol 😂 u r too funny bro
Two of my favorite players in an epic match
People praising Roger more than Thiem only because Roger seems happy for Thiem. Come on guys, give Thiem some credit too.
Why?
Can you not
The level this two just played was unreal ! Fed was giving everything and domi just played out of his mind ! Thiem is a great champion and in my opinion the best player right now
Opinion,,
@Jensen HARGREAVES Yeah. Opinion.
How happy Roger was for Dominic
father son goals
What a fantastic match. Thiem's level and determination were out of this world. I miss TENNIS SO MUCH!
Dominic great sport, I love his attitude on court, great mental. I hope he wins a few slams in his career (agains't the big 3), he deserves.
One of the best matches I've ever seen
release full classic matches since there are no sports, we need something
dude this made me realise how this years final was literally nothing compared to the quality of 2019's indian wells
ikr norrie and Basilashvili lol..no discredit to them they’re great though
@@neb6208 yupp rematch tomorrow
Love watching Thiem plays, he is fearless..
Thiem has got such a great kick-serve that he makes Roger look like a bad returner
Aggression was the key for Thiem.
Federer and Thiêm, My two favorite players, in that order. Astounding tennis here.
Wow I can't believe I hadn't seen highlights of this match before! I am a big Thiem fan, so this has to be one of my favorite matches now. Thiem's hold at 3-4 down in set 3 was so clutch, and then he destroyed two Federer drop shots for the break... what a match!
thiem's backhand is monstrous
We miss you Thiem
Thiem’s backhand up the line and his inside out forehand are some of the best on the tour. This match was when I believed he could win a slam. He took the next step. I know he made the RG final in 2018 but I never believed he could win.
Apart from the big 3 we are very lucky to see thiem as well in this era.
Be safe everyone, take care of your health and wash your hands well. The time to enjoy tennis again will come soon or late. Blessings.
i hope soon, i'm really angry for this opposition (problem)
Thank you that's sweet it came much sooner than expected! :)
Dominic thiem looked so much more stronger in ao 2020. Incredible work on his fitness!!!
I don't have words for this. Out of the world these two. My two favorites
Two of the classiest players on the tour
Until his injury - Thiem was easily the best of all the new young up coming brigade - most versatile game also
Dominic's impressive game, well done 👏👏👏
My two favorite players. But Federer's won everything possible so I'm kind of glad it's Thiem this time. Every time I see Thiem playing that good, I remember watching him as a 'nobody', a kid with lacks in technique, losing focus all the time, struggling hard on his games, switching from great plays to the worst within minutes. But even then I knew that was the boy worth watching, that he was gonna be great one day. And now he's one of the best in the business and yet a lot to come for him in his career. Great match, great to live in current times to be able to watch it all live. I've always thought this way about Federer, Nadal and Djokovic era but we can sleep calmly, they have great successors.
Even though I’m a Fed fan, I surprisingly can’t help but feel I’m watching my two favorite players
Federer, Wawrinka , Dimitrov and Thiem are the best one handed players of all time . ❤❤❤
Thiem can really bang off both wings..great kid, great competitor!
one of the most elegant game ive ever seen
When there is no season until 26th April but ATP chases the youtube cash :D Nice highlights tho.
It was I think here that Federer's backhand was being considered unstoppable back in 2017
La he visto mil veces este juego, y creo que celebró como massu su maestro 💪🏻🇨🇱
Damn I miss Thiem
So incredible!!
I’m sorry, but I’m still scratching my head at how Thiem managed to lose the AO final. Great video BTW.
Experience was the major factor for djokovic there.
@man bat ur buddy djokovic got swept at rg final ahahjhahahaah autistic balkan scum
@man bat you’re pathetic 🤣
Roger has become older ,wiser and more content with life . A living example of how to push yourself for something you love the most .
The Federer we miss and the Thiem we need back.
Thiem has incredible raw power
Incredible Dominic Thiem. Fantastic Final in Indian Wells.
Thank you for the highlights of this most excellent match! I loved it!
Two of the best one handed backhands!
Incroyable de revoir ce match ! Un premier master 1000 mais pas le dernier. Son premier Grand Chelem est hélas reporté en septembre. Auf ghet's Domi 🇦🇹💪
Thiem is a beast ,very less people acknowledge that
What a great match. Great to be able to watch the highlights.
This is great, upload more highlights please
Love watching a match between two one-handed backhanders. Such a shame how much of a rarity it is nowadays.
Completely agree. I always get hyped when I see a one-hander from the nextgen. One-handed backhand is in my opinion the most beautiful shot in tennis, especially down the line shots.
We had a dry spell for awhile with nextgen but now there's Thiem, Tsitsipas, and Shapovalov all rocking some impressive one-handers while also being top 10 material so one-handers will live on at the highest levels of the sport after Federer/Wawrinka/Gasquet are gone. Dimitrov hopefully can find some form again but times running out for him too...
Roger is very cool.....he enjoys and motivated theim in his journey.....this is known as sportsman spirit.....
Thiem was so legend man this match
Never get tired of watching this match, both players are my favorite. Thiem keep going, you will be the next Federer for sure !
The sound of the ball coming off of Thiem’s racquet during the second part of that third set sounded like a cannon firing.
Good for Dominic Thiem. Very important win for his career. I think Federer lost too many oportunities at second and third set. (Thiem won 3 of 4 BP, while Federer won 2 of ELEVEN!!)
When Federer loses tight matches it's because of his embarrassing break point conversion rate.
Classic Federer, nothing new here
Sumnah Lennon I really don’t understand how he can so often get to 0-40 & then still not break. It boggles my mind & is frustrating to no end. So so so so many matches he would’ve won if his BP conversion was even marginally better.
@@sumnahlennon4516 absolutely true
normal for fed, during his careers he got tons break point in front of Nadal, Joker but he only can converted very fews of these. about 10 20% 😅 i donnot wish his backhand better but only wish if he can raise BP convert rate it to 30 40, even today with his weak Backhand he still get more BPs in match with top 3 😈
I just saw this match today, and is impressing how well Dominic was playing! A big serve and forehand! Roger was a little bit surprised to see him playing so well, he couldn't quite react to that unefortunately for him, but yes he was happy for Dominic!
Great Highlights! Keep posting!!
Bravo Dominic! Beautiful and unique! 🎾🎾🎾🏆🏆🏆
That was a sweet collection of ball striking!
really two great man...a great fight
Everyone is, talking about how Federer was happy at the end but nobody's talking about how Thiem played
They can only watch Federer. Sick people.
Thanks for the highlights.
The battle of the backhand
So refreshing to watch both players use one-handed backhands.
I was screaming so loud, was so proud of Dominic, same could be said for Madrid and ATP finals. Fed is done, Bamos and Vamos!
Amazing match. Both played well.
Please post Roger vs Rafa 2012 semifinal 🙏 That match was simply amazing!
Amazing? You mean the IW match? It wasn't amazing at all. The Australian semifinal was much better
Congratulations Dominic! To God be the glory!
These videos will get us thru corona don't you think? ;)
Thiem will be the next tennis superstar, you heard it here first. His passion for the game is unmatched and he just wants to steamroll through everyone that gets in his way.
A big NO
WOW! I never like a one handed backhand but THIEM has the most beautiful backhand OMG ... wow!
so powerful its mind blowing
Thiem best player and the handsome one!
Highlights show how much defensive Fed was. Theim's heavy top spins on backhand were just too much
ATP, do some extended highlights of the 2018 Indian Wells final as well, that was a great match.
Keep your eyes peeled...
Roger actually had Thiem has sparring partner when he was 13 so yes,he was genuinely happy for him
Federer is sui generis. As far as I can tell, there has never been a player like him. Nor are we likely to see a player like him again. There is nothing he cannot do on the tennis court. Including blowing match points, winning matches after saving match points, losing matches despite winning more points, playing better tennis and losing, creating more BP opportunities than (possibly) any other player and then wasting almost all of them - and so on. Really, the number of ways he can win and lose tennis matches is unparalleled. It's come to a point where it doesn't even matter if Nadal and Djokovic overtake him in slams. There's a certain "wholeness" about Federer's game, a "roundedness" that has the capacity to embrace both his sublime talent and his all-too-human frailties that is completely beyond compare (in a way perhaps only true "genius" is).
Really love this comment ❤ Federer will remain a Goat for all of us, no matter whatever happens in the future. There can never be a player like him ever ❤
We love Federer because he has an all around game that encompasses every shot possible in the book AND MORE. He also has the ability to execute every one of these shots almost perfectly. No other player has as much selection in shots and even if they do, its probably not going to be executed at the same level as Fed's. He is human, gets nervous sometimes, but what we love the most about his game is also that he's an offensive shot maker. We can talk about what decisions he made on his shot selections for his match points won or lost, but its cool he has the ability to do that. Sometimes its just a gamble when it comes to offense. If the opponent guesses right, then that's game!
@@UchihABitachi Well said friend. Federer is really like this. He dares to go for his shots, even at the crunchest of time in the match. Not many players can do that, and thats why we love him the most ❤
@@UchihABitachi Agree, but may I add that Thiem is also a great offensive shot maker who take risks. Thats why I prefer them by far over Djokovic or any player following the defense school of the game. Because thats just so boring. Murray would be another example of playing somehow like Djokovic....
@@philippboetcher9959 Yes this is true, but as far as the amount of shot selection and skill in executing these shots, that all goes to Federer. Incredibly talented. Thiem is also a good all around player as well. Although mastery in other shots are lacking compared to Federer, his FH and BH groundstrokes are monstrous bc of the amount of pace and spin he puts on those shots. This type of style is what we are currently seeing with all the New Next Gen players. The "Modern Gen Forehand" that is extremely heavy. Thiem, Kyrgios, Jack Sock have them so far. Not sure about the rest. Its because of Thiem's athleticism & endurance to hit monster groundstroke after monster groundstroke (kind of like Stan does) that he's gotten to where he is now. He is able to produce this very consistently, but it is a very tiring style of play.
Grazie Tennis TV!
2019 - Masters 1000 2020 - Grand slam 2021 - Olympics 2022 - No 1
Good bye Roger. 😢 It’s an amazing match on both players.
What a match !
What an awesome match to watch
Two of my favorite players ! You have to play your best to beat Roger !
Roger trying to hide them tears with a fake smile😭😭
These guys can put another hand in pocket, except for servicing 🔥❤️❤️
I could be misreading the vibe, but it feels like Thiem deserved the win.
Superb match 👍
did anyone notice theims elbow with blood at 16:00 !? Gosh great match and he really deserved to win :)
Drop shot at 7:45 is absolute filth. Wow
Best backhand match possible in actual tennis
Please put nadal delpo 2013 final
You can really tell how Thiem has an advantage over Federer because of how much power Thiem has and that Roger has slowed down a little due to his old age (Djokovic fans don’t you go bitching in the comments)
Hm yes, Roger and Thiem are friends 😊 but Thiem is probably not his favorite player to play against... their H2H stats are 5:2 for Thiem (and 5:1 in the last 4 years). Thiem also leads the H2H stats of the last few years against Djokovic (4:2) but not against Nadal. Thiem has an advantage with his powerful play.. but it doesn't help that much against other very powerful players (like e.g. Nadal and Schwartzman)
Good one😍🔥
