  • Before I "knew" the beatles, i thought of them as older dudes who did drugs and made weird ass music, but they were literally just kids having fun and living this huge life that was practically unheard of at the time. George was only 25 and Paul was 26. Like Im 28 and I couldnt imagine having lived through what they experienced by my age.

    @belongtobill@belongtobill Жыл бұрын
    • They were kinda both lol. Old dudes who did drugs and made weird, at the time, music. At the same time, they were kids having fun and experiencing life, and turned out probably the finest discography in music history.

  • 2:22 & 2:42 These moments to me are so endearing. We all get fed up in the drama and never stop talking about the arguments and/or the things that would eventually lead to the split of the band. But seeing moments like this let you know that they loved each other, that they were a family just fooling around and that if they decided to stop as a group that was probably for the best, to let everyone do whatever they wanted their sound to be like without having to limit themselves within keeping the image the world had of The Beatles back in those days. Overall just being able to see this behind the scenes gives a whole new spectrum and point of view of what we know about them and I absolutely love it. Thanks for picking these out of context, it's really fun. P.S.: 3:52 George got a shock from the mic and the then after that he proceeded to put his hand on it again and got shocked again twice lmao 😂

    @nathgtz3881@nathgtz3881 Жыл бұрын
    • I think they’d spent SO much time together and been through so much that no matter how much they may have disliked each other at times, there was still such a profound bond and connection that existed between the four of them that moments like that would always squeak through the tension. There’s a story that at the only session John and Paul ever played together at post-breakup in 1974 Paul walked in the studio and when everyone realized John and Paul were together the tension became so thick you could cut it with a knife. Then the two made a joke and instantly it was like they were back in Liverpool and all the years of fighting had never happened.

  • Some of my favorite clips from this documentary are the jamming sessions involving Yoko, John and Paul going absolutely apeshit on the drums. We've been fed this narrative that Yoko split the band and that the other three Beatles hated her guts for so long that it's so refreshing and endearing seeing them just hanging out and having fun. It's so awesome that Peter Jackson put so much time and dedication into making this film, it totally reshapes what we know about the Beatles, and it successfully showcases what the original Let It Be film failed to show- The sheer joy and humanity of four friends making music.

Album that was exciting Then taking it home playing it on our HiFi or Stereo l bought SPLHCB in Montreal on a class trip 😉

  • The thing is, nothing in the documentary even makes sense with context. It's basically nine hours of the most useless and most empty conversations, four idiots making up wrong lyrics to their own songs and songs from others, the same idiots abusing instruments and eating toast or from time to time a microphone. It was the best nine hours spent in my life. I watched it multiple times.

  • It's crazy to see these guys like this. I mean, you can tell they really are having fun and enjoying themselves. You hear all these stories about how they hated each other and wouldn't work together and all that. I was in a band for 15 years and I still get along with those guys, consider them friends, and talk to them often. But I don't remember an time where we had this much fun. These guys act like they just started the band, not like they are all ready to quit.
