Agreed. In my own head, I was waiting for $600 because that’s what I would have taken, I laughed a little.
Private sale prices are notoriously hard to confirm. As a result, we've left out Jimi Hendrix's Woodstock Stratocaster (reportedly sold for $1.3m in 1993 to Microsoft's Paul Allen) and the infamous Peter Green/Gary Moore Les Paul, for which Kirk Hammett allegedly paid $2 million in 2014.Nov 23, 2021

When Rick told the guitar guy, "Let me know if it goes to auction, I might bid on it", he should have said "you can't afford it" 😅
Note to self, if you have a valuable antique item, don't sell it at a pawn shop
Unless you want immediate money.
@@Azatosu I think it would be sad for anyone to need money that quickly and badly. I like to think that anyone would be willing to go to a pawn shop because they don't need the money that much, and are willing to sell it for much less than they could get for it elsewhere because they don't need the money, where they also do it to get on TV if they know the pawn shop is also a reality show.
@@Steveman27 You don't know if there is an urgency or not. There are times when you would need immediate money. It's not sad if it's an emergency. There's always a time and place for everything. Although, if you do have time to spare, then auction is the better choice.

I was one of those kids who waited all night in line around the movie theater to see Star Wars when it came out in '78. This was before there were multi-plex theaters, so one theater showing one movie. You got your ticket and waited in line for the movie to finish and as the theater filled up, you moved up in line. It took half a day to finally be seated. ALL the kids on my block (10 in all) collected the figurines, the blasters, ships and anything Star Wars. What kills me is I had ten of the Vinyl-caped Jawas and seven Tusken Raiders, but of course we played with them. That Storm Trooper does not look like the clean lines of the ones we had, but the glimpse in this episode may just be lighting. Oh, the memories... why did I have ten Jawas? I also had the Jawa Sand Crawler filled with 'Droids and droid parts. When I was fourteen in '82 my dad said I was too old to play with dolls and we sold the entire collection for $40 at a garage sale... same with my 12" GI Joe collection (the ones with the fuzzy hair and all the different uniforms, the headquarters (with search light) and Jeep. It kills me to know the value of those toys today if only we listened to my mom, a professional doll collector, to "keep some of them in the box, put them in her storeroom and leave them there for when we grew up". when the music starts but once he said 6? intense music starts playing
"Don't be desperate about it, and that i'm not".
And it sold at auction for 2mil
The guy was smart and patient. I respect that.
Seller's mentality is truly commendable 😎
@@culvert4258 pretty sure it can go for 1mil easily
@@Ablazey10 I'm saying it sold for 2mil
That first guy was so tempted. Even I was like “just do it” when Rick offered that $600,000 But it ended up being sold for 2 million, which I’m so happy for the owner to receive
15:09 what if that was a real one and that man just got gypped 300 thousand bucks lol
*puts Jimi Hendrix’s guitar down* “That’s a good guitar man” No way bro really
@Lorenzo Davies what?
Old guy was like "can I get 2 grand for it?" Rick - "I'll give you 5k" 😂
Any conversation. Rick: *I’m taking all the risk*
14:46 nice one haha
Rick's wife:" I want triplets..." Rick: "Let me call my buddy......."
Oh man 🤣🤣🤣
"Best I can do is twins "
"Anywhere between 750 000 and 1 million"... lmao that transition between faces 2:25-2:27 xD
Rick: If this is really Jimi Hendricks' guitar I got to go to great lengths to get it. Also Rick: I'll give you less than 1/2 of what it's worth.
1/4 Someone in comments said the hendrix guitar sold for 2M at auction so kudos to the dude
'' i got employee, i got overhead...''' - well, i got the same thing! lolll
They're trained to give 1/3 it's value, and say " I'm taking all the risk ".........lol
If no one buys it. Its a risk. A lot of cool things they have bought that haven't sold yet. Just taking up space. Things they thought would be quick sellers. That's the risk they take.
Gotta start off with a nice lowball
Ricks favorite line. " you get all the money i take all the risk"
the dude with the guitar is insanely good at playing his cards, i guarantee its been sold for millions at auction
Sold for 2 million
@@alexanderjohnson1346 different guitar, that was his Woodstock guitar
That guy cracks me up when he said “I know you need a little room so 500” after he was told it’s worth maybe $550.
Wow loved the way he played Jimi’s guitar!
Ricks a really nice guy for always taking the risk
Lmao!
Bring them a bar of gold. “I’m taking all the risk.”
