  • I put too much counterweight - this is why powerhammer was shaking. After reduction, runs smooth, proof in the video below ;) kzhead.info/sun/Y9KAhM6xh3yAbIU/bejne.html

  • This is a really impressive build but those of us who would watch this kind of build don't want to watch someone grind a plate and cut angle iron for 30 minutes. we would like to see you explain how the parts are going together in the final assembly. I don't care to watch you drill holes in a plate without understanding what that part is for. I would like to hear an explanation of the measurements, how the whole thing works, what complications arose during your build that you had to find a solution to. this kind of information is valuable for those of us who might want to build one for ourselves. Your video is good, but it doesn't offer any of the information or explanation that anyone would want if they were considering building their own hammer and trying to decide on which type to attempt. You do really good work but try giving us more actual information as you do and we will all appreciate it.

    • Thank you for your comment. It's very valuable for me. I'm so sorry for don't giving any information during build but in this video I did it on purpose. Why? This hammer is a part of my graduation work (thesis, I don't know how you call it in english) I hope you will understand. My future videos with projects will include all usefull details for other makers.

  • I am an instructor for a trade school in Buckeye, AZ. It is a joy to watch you figure out your next steps and then transfer those thoughts to metal. You are doing so many things the right way technically and I'm not sure if you learned it watching youtube or you have a mentor somewhere that invested in you. Keep up the fantastic scaffolding of learning you are displaying and allowing the world to watch on. If I could give any advice it would be to stop using music as a fill and simply tell what you are going to do as you are doing it. Drill size, lubrication type you use, speed of drill, what you are being careful not to do. Let the people get to know you as a person. The music gets annoying and takes away from the sounds of shop that we all love. Adam at ABOM79 has mastered what I am encouraging you to do. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALLOWING YOURSELF TO BE VULNERABLE AND PUTTING YOUR WORK OUT THERE.

    • Thank you for your comment. Basics of machining I learned in my high school. It's also my life passion so I learn much more by myself from books and KZhead. As you see in the video I used two workshops for this project. I haven't lathes and milling machines for my own. Head teacher of my high school allowed me to use school workshop for this build. Of course now I'm studying mechanical engineering in other part of my country so I'm not living in my home, where is my workshop. I think I can make some video's with instructions and tips. But I need free time. They will appear very rarely .

  • How does someone your age acquire all that equipment? Not to mention $800 worth of steel. Your very fortunate to have access to everything a grown man working for a living would love to own. Hope you appreciate what you have there son. Good luck on future projects. Think safety at all times because it’ll be alot more difficult if you lose your sight or a body part. Hope your project here turned out to your liking, the video was too long. You don’t have to show every inch of your welding job/prowess. You could of cut video in half. Take care young fella.

    • SteelCraft .....Well then you are a very fortunate young man. I’m 70 yrs old now and never was able to buy anything of much value, usually second hand stuff. Old cars and few hand tools and lived and still live in trailers my entire life. Have worked in peanut fields and tobacco and watermelon fields as a young boy back in the late 60’s. Now retired after 38 years with the Florida Dept. Of Transportation. I’ve made things all my life, some because I enjoy making them and most were things to help me get by. I was just now able to buy a wood turning lathe from Harbor Freight (cheap). But it makes me happy I suppose. Hopefully you appreciate what you have there and be sure to thank the owners of that nice equipment. Stay humble young man talk to the Lord daily, keep your nose clean and enjoy your life. Just give the Lord all the praise and respect you can muster and please be safe around those tools so one day you can look back and say, “I’ve had a good life”. Thank you for being honest son and keep learning. 🙏
