  • It seems like it needs to just be an Ai translator that can connect to your phone. Cameras are on phones, as is music, which is also on smart watches, and why do you need it to recognise things in the camera? Your phone can do that too. What the world needs really is a highly responsive ‘Universal Translator’ from Star Trek. And make it smaller, like half or quarter the size, which could be done if the camera and silly laser were removed. But mainly, who would waste $24 a month on this?

  • One problem with these AI gadgets that doesn't get talked about enough is the response lag. I'm guessing the pin is using the cloud to do all the heavy lifting, and it's far too slow. For these little gadgets to work, there needs to be huge strides in local AI and on-device AI that only needs to cloud compute when a request is far outside their operational range.

  • 5:54 if you have bluetooth earbuds, you can connect them to your phone (instead of the pin), then tap them to talk to the AI Agent on your phone. You get 90% of these features and not spend an additional $700 and $300 a year subscription.... bonus it's your phone, not a separate phone number. They already made a bluetooth star trek badge that let you do all of this with your phone. Humane should have made this just work with your phone. It would cost way less and the battery would last way longer.

  • For the first time I see something that works with Italian language and not with others, amazing, that was hilarious. The overheating issue it must be fixed as soon as they can, if it gets hot with couple of questions it is not so useful. The answers are quite basic with not so much details, the idea in general is not bad at all, but for that price you can buy a good MP and do much more other things, including AI conversations. The mandatory subscription doesn't make it appealing as well.

  • I know I was bc and am still extremely critical of this device because it is the first time a product has come out that can be replaced by any os update to iOS or android or an app for each platform since the chumby .. But from your experience it seems like the is is in. iOS 1.0 state like it could benefit from piggy backing off of a native phone companion app until it’s kinks are worked out and also the puase between responses is similar to what I’ve seen with bard and gpt but copilot powered by gpt but on a device without a screen it seems a little more pronounced it could use some help with sound design or maybe even adding some canned response to fill in the background… there’s no audible representation of a empty field or loading screen/ animation so it seems really slow even though it’s about normal Maybe this needs a boost from on device intelligence… but given the fact that it’s over hearing it may need to have a more efficient chipset designed from the ground up for this type of thing I dont know. It’s very ten one and I don’t like the aesthetics enough to invest in it yet The same goes for the rabbit r1 it’s playful design is cool but the orange color is a big no I’d rather a white or space gray slab with orange accents

  • A self contained phone that doesn't give you basic tools that you regularly use on your phone as demonstrated in other reviews. They took the idea of not using a screen a bit too far: it doesn't do alarms, reminders, etc. Is it an accessory or is it ACTUALLY a device?

  • They missed the mark. I see what they went for but it’s not fluid enough. It needs: hand tracking technology. Look at the meta question and Apple Vision Pro. This device would benefit with that tech so that it tracks your hand and the laser projector can lock on to your hand and keep the projector display motion tracked real time on your hand. So that you seamlessly hold your hand up at any position and it is displayed nicely. Better cameras. of course to read and see things better. Add a clip to the device. Connect to a smart phone: we all know this device works better as a phone accessory. (Doesn’t mean a bad thing, but this is more of a Apple Watch type of technology.) What I like: that this is a great fast way to access AI. I see how this is very useful. The craftsmanship and how solid it looks is great. However the overheating and the lack of refined/reliable AI makes this tech ahead of its time.

  • Why is this not a pair of glasses with the projector on one side and the camera on the other instead of a pin weighing down your clothes. Just put clear lenses in for folks who don't need them, and prescription for those who do. You'd have more room for batteries, look less goofy, and the audio could be directed only to you instead of everyone around you without losing any of the functionality.

  • I'll stick with my Apple Watch (which does far more useful tasks with Siri than this pin at a fraction of the cost). - It's also just really striking that for all the complaints with Siri, she's still far more accurate with asking questions and getting correct answers than I've been seeing in all of these AI pin reviews. This might be the "future" of tech, but at this price and all of the lacking features that are still "coming soon" it's definitely not TODAY's tech. It also doesn't solve any existing problem. If taking a phone out of one's pocket or looking down at one's wrist is too taxing of an effort, then humanity is just a few short years from being the lazy blobs of mass from WALL-E.

  • 😂 This is still obviously pre-release software, the software is going to be extremely stealer as it ages. Cosmo OS in itself is a game changer being able to both run on devices and servers simultaneously. We should be getting the software showcased by Bethany Bongiorno and Imran Chaudhri in the video before the handbook video , Vision is still in beta also. I like the idea of still being present and free but still have the functionality of a smart handsfree assistant.

  • The whole tap to control interface, and projection. Literally any phone is better and more efficient than that. You are just looking at your hand now... Solution looking for a problem.
