    • You’re cool and funny. I’m black and you don’t have to worry about laughing. The only irony is ppl miss that this is unfortunately still happening. A lot of ppl slaving for jobs they hate, talking about quitting daily, but still jumping at everything opportunity to impress their master… Plenty are slaves in others ways too like ppl that hate social media but still post for likes or click the things they complain about… Or complain about things they always buy… Great skit, as Ye said “we the new slaves”

    • I'm going to share something about this as no one asked. I lived for a few years in a mainly black neighbourhood (I'm white) and in the bus I would often have an empty seat next to me with the bus full. The only people who sat next to me were: 1) guys who didn't give a crap. 2) ladies who were so tired after their day that I could see sitting down was bliss. Everyone else would stand for 40 minutes and look at me as if I needed to get up. Guess why they wouldn't sit (no I didn't smell bad and no I didn't present myself as someone you wouldn't want to sit next to..maybe a bit but still).

We call it a memorial day, yet for the living we've sent no flower while they are 6'ft up,until they are 6'ft under. Then we write songs of their exploits long after they're gone and can not hear'em, yet never a tune for the living when they could sing'em. How we travel afar to visit a grave where they're laid, when seldom if ever we visited them where they stayed. A photo of them, but not one with them, around the neck a cherished relic, but their hand, when last you had you held it? When they were sick did you pray that God would heal, yet when they were well, when last did you share a meal? Oh yes indeed we love to value our Dead, but should not at first, while they're living we kiss their head. So no more tears on the tombs where they lie, let them hear your laughter while yet they are still alive. They'll share their stories and you'll share yours. It's on this side of life's memories we form our fondest Joy. For we were all on Earth together until we're each No More. Happy Veterans Day! - Steve Gooden -

    • K HUNTER a lot of Africans did capture and sell their own people, they traded with the UK and sold their people.

      @MiraShards@MiraShards4 жыл бұрын
    • @@MiraShards I think I know where your coming from, but we probably differ on our understanding of "own people". Most people (men, women, children) were not sold by "their own" people, meaning, their own family, tribe, kin, co-religionist, i.e. people of the same beliefs/faiths. There was a distinction between who they considered themselves to be and others. The ones they sold were not their own. In the majority of cases. That is not to say there was never a situation where a person, family or group was sold or exchanged into slavery because of some criminal violation or tribal ostracization.

      @anotherpointofview222@anotherpointofview2224 жыл бұрын
    • @@MiraShards You are looking at the continent of Africa and saying people who lived in Africa sold other people who also lived in Africa. Like saying the people who lived within a certain region of the continent, or country sold other people who lived in the same region. (Earthlings sold other Earthlings/Humans sold other humans) Because you live in the same place doesn't make you the same "people" or make the other people living there your own. There were various Kingdoms in Africa over different times. The King or Ruler considered everyone within their kingdom, their subjects or "people" if you will. That didn't mean the King and his family were the same relations or people as the people they sold. My point is that saying Africans sold Africans, doesn't address a critical most important part which is why? Enslavement of people is nothing new. The reasons, beliefs, and justifications is what distinguishes one form from another. Regardless of who sold who.
