    • You know that quote from Black Swan? "Perfection is not just about control. It's also about letting go". I've always found it a perfect summary of why I preferred Davis/White. Virtue and Moir were perfect, but for me they lacked this "letting go" factor.

      @Unfiltered494@Unfiltered4944 жыл бұрын
    • No real reason to compare. I get you’re just stating what you see but they’re doing what works for them and the ability to “let go” doesn’t determine better quality skating. I know you didn’t explicitly say it’s better but it is definitely an undertone of what you’re trying to say, if it’s not then that’s fine, it is what it is either way

Virtue and Moir weren't #1 until after Davis and White left competitive skating then returned to college to finish new careers. That didn't happen until 2017 for V and M. The only difference I can possibly point to is that Tessa/Scott's feet were almost ALWAYS in perfect unison. I also feel that after the second twizzle when they dropped to one knee and glided toward the judges with head bowed-it stole the show. That's when that performance stole my heart. Both teams were amazing.

    • @@mariezurie2172 Let's not forget home ice advantage is a real thing, and Skate Canada did some heavy campaigning for V&M. Prior to that Olympic season, V&M had only won two gold medals in three years with only ONE of them being a GP event. In my book, there is no way V&M out-skated D&W at those Olympics, especially in the FD. The speed alone at which they skated should have earned them the gold. At that speed, every single element becomes exponentially more difficult.

  • Wow! I just saw this performance for the first time and why did they not win? Really powerful and on point with the twizzles and quick steps. Also a flair for the Dramatics. And they still did not win, why?

    • @@macacatalan6618if you watch 2010s step sequence, almost every team are like this, including V/M, dw had better twizzles etc and if they were in 1 in short dance (indian dance was better than the flamenco) they would win but having a olympics in home was a advange for vm
