Being a jeweler is as dangerous as it is lucrative and there’s a cut-throat, super competitive nature to the business. We talk to the jewelers who knowingly work in a risky business to supply the stars - names like Johnny Dang, Ice Box, Ben Baller, Eliantte, and Avianne & Co. For artists, there are risks and rewards to owning ice; their pieces can create wealth for generations, but it also requires them to have security at all times. We’ll hear from Quavo, Migos, Lil Yachty, De La Soul, and CEO P of Quality Control Music. Episode 3 of Ice Cold.

Boat gave some really good insight on being a rapper when he talked about how he hates wearing jewelry whenever he isn’t in “rapper mode”.
When he said its like a costume, it made all sense. These rappers really turn into a whole different person on stage and they need clothing/ accessories to make them look a certain way so it all makes sense now. Like an alter ego

Johnny used to work with my dad, now theyre both very succesful and have their own shops next to eachother
Johnny gets a lot of advertising, dudes will let you know they buy from Johnny because they know people who are into rap will flip and it can make you look like you are really rich, when they arent, because Johnny does sell cheaper pieces. If someone says they bought from Johnny and they arent famous, then they most likely spent no more than $3000 with him, but most likely $1000 or wayy wayy less
@@ThePeacePlant love a jeweler that makes pieces for any budget. jewelry made with 925 silver and moissanite is cheaper than gold and diamonds, but still extremely high quality. they're still precious metal and stones. i believe he makes all his jewelry in house too, which is an anomaly in the jewelry world.

I’m tired of hearing Ben Baller say he’s a “jeweler” and that he “makes the best jewelry”. He doesn’t make any jewelry! Ben Baller is a jewelry salesman. You go to him with an idea and he passes that to his jewelers who does all the work while he approves it. He doesn’t even touch it till they’re done
But one time he made it, the point is, he made 5 jewels a year and rest, all of others orders stay on if and co
Bruh have you not seen his earlier show on mtv? His podcast? He makes jewelry and sells it. He’s easily the most known Jeweler outside of Johnny. The man is booked till 2023 and takes no less than 250K to even work with him
@@AA-ed6vg yeah I’ve seen his show and have listened to every episode of his podcast. All I’m saying is he doesn’t “make” the jewelry like he says he does. A client goes to Ben with an idea and Ben tells his jewelers what the client wants and they make it. Ben is not sculpting wax or placing diamonds. The jewelers are the ones that does that and they’re the ones that are actually making the jewelry
@@samueldasilva3441 he doesn’t make any jewelry. What I mean by that is he’s not cutting and sculpting out the wax cast for the gold and he’s not setting diamonds. The guys who are doing that are the ones that are making the jewelry. I’ve seen Ben polish jewelry but that’s when it’s already done
@@BWARE_808 i feel u, but it is what it is, i prefer Johnny too but Johnny have a Fordist manufacture on his place too, so what's the point, no one successful jeweler make all jewels what they sell, it's probably impossible or super expensive, like elliante
