I give some tips for general air combat in the Starling. These are things that everyone should know if they want to get better at dogfighting or just flying the Starling around.

Lol, I don't even try to land the Starling. The best way is to just kamikaze straight into the blue circle of your hangar and you'll be good.
It just freezes the plane.
Yeah that works too lol. But sometimes the blue circle doesn't show up and you slam right into the hangar xD
be in mc, bail, hold select, send current vehicle to garage.
Woody R That's my favorite method. It also works great if your aircraft is smoking and you can't make it to your hangar.

Its kinda funny how pyrerealm gaming didnt suggest the starling for dogfighting but now its considered as one of the best dogfighting vehicles in the game.....

ZiFt sandic Because both of them don't know jackshit about PvP and Dogfighting in this game, the Starling is a Domination-Tool. The only thing i would consider worthy of an Opponent would be a master in the Pyro. Everything else just suffers.. Especially Lazer/Hydra's.. I mean, it took enough Lazers out with the Seabreeze to say it stands no damn chance against a Starling
Pretty much everyone said it's terrible for dogfighting because of either overvaluing Cannons/undervaluing MGs, or "It can't get behind a Lazer." Pyrerealm has a lot of cases of obviously not knowing what he's talking about, like with the GP1 (he called it a good race car, despite being waaaay off the pace), saying the Dune FAV is good, among others.

Josué Acosta you can not pickup prostitutes in the vehicle.
You can kinda automatically land the Starling by switching to the bomb-camera view and setting down your controller. The plane will slow down to a crawl in-flight, and then gently drop to the ground.

Why do people hate EWO. That thing has helped me a ton when I'm stuck in the middle of the ocean when my plane crashed or when I'm doing CEO crates and wanna get a jet ski or when I'm doing piracy prevention, someone's on my yacht and I have to get back there ASAP.
Great guide Chillie but there are more points in my opinion. - How to kill players on ground. - Left and right rocket aim. - How to react if they like to shoot u with explo. - Best way to use boost against rocket lauchner (ground). - How to deal with a savage (hit box...). - How to bomb (aircrafts and people). - When u should get a new starling if its buring (back). - ECM Starling vs Flares. (ECM cause of noob car and bike) - Hard and long fight against other starling or pyro. - Get away if theres an avenger (own risk /should be clear). May theres a part two or a full starling guide. Keep up your great work!

Yeah I could talk for hours about Starling tactics lol. But that would be extremely overwhelming all at once. These are just the main ones that can help people who may just be starting out flying

Shadow Wolf It does actually, if you spray rockets while shooting at them there’s no possible way the plane will ever get behind you because it’s running away from rockets.

The Starling can be landed very similar to other Aircraft but it takes awhile to bleed its speed off. Once you bleed the speed off, you can bring it down gently, do a landing flare, and touch down without a bounce.
Hey man, love your videos. I know this is real old but it really helped me alot with the Starling. I know alot of the techniques apply to all aircraft, but would you be willing to make a guide specifically for the Rogue as well? That's another plane that I feel has some real distinct qualities. Anyways keep up the great work!

Another Tip, use the thermal Helmet when practicing bombing. I know, it isn't a Air-to-Air Combat thing, but still works hella fine

Jason Cooper Yes. Get a (glitched) Nightvision and put the Helmet over it, and save the Outfit. Then just equip it a splitsecond before you enter a vehicle, and activate the nightvision.. It gives you the Thermal. I have 2 Clips at the start of my newest Video with it

Daniel DAM It's the Nightvision, just without the Black-Ski mask which is under it. The Glitched one it's only the goggles, and you head is as smooth as a babys ass, no matter what hair your Dude normally has. I don't know if it's requiered for the glitch, i guess it is *not* But i used it nonetheless
K1NG_of_ReVeNGe is that i have the bulletproof helmet, breather, sky glasses and night vision, all at the same time in the head and i cant turn on the nightvision because when I do it, nothing happens, it used to work untill the san andreas cars dlc, but now no more

Another good way to land the more "traditional" way is to pull the plane up before it touches the ground until the plane touches the ground on its own as a result of slowing down. Essentially the boost regen trick closer the ground and may help people go into their hangar faster.
And this lowtech submarine will explode in 30 seconds..... I have secret escape pod good luck

4 or 5 years later I finally bought it cause it was at a discount thanks ghillie I'll practice with it.
my favorite way to merge is rolling just enough (you'll get a feel for it) while using a bumper to turn, this makes your aircraft drift around in a circle while moving forward and spamming homing missles, you want to keep on the gas so they have less of a time frame to track you another tip, split S is really good for when somebody gets behind you, especially if you're near the ground bc theres a good chance they'll crash (split s is when you roll so your cockpits facing the ground and pull up at full throttle and the gravity will increase your speed as you level out back the way you came) never split s upwards

Cool! A couple of tips I will use. Landing and fast boost refilling. On a side note, I bailed out this jet a couple of days ago, I pulled the parachute... Landed, and watch for 6 minutes as it circled slowly back down, and missed me by about 30ft. I've tried to recreate what happened, but it takes nowhere near 6 mins to crash to Earth. Crazy shit! lol
I'm glad I'm not the only one who zooms the whole way out while flying planes/jets.
i didnt know that Fast Regen trick thats so useful now there is no need to call up my pyro for long distance flights i can just rely on my starling. Also i always use the stall technique to land my starling but that circle method looks even easier definitely gonna try. Thanks so much for all those great tips.

Nice landing tips. I've been scrubbing as much speed with airbrakes (such as they are in this plane) as I can then gliding up & down ala the oppressor (I hate that thing) to scrub off more speed if needed to avoid the bounce.

3:08 I would suggest to go on side with your boost. Jet having troubles to aim at sides unless they roll... and if they are prepared next time and rolling, then you can go upwards or down

This is my favorite plane I watched this video when it came out and now I habe mastered the starling burmt it's just underrated because it doesn't have explosive guns but believe me if you hit you're shots you can shredder trough a hydra or lazer
Nice to see my usual landing method in this video (the first one). Also don't forget that the Starling is the only jet where using your rudder and being in a 45 degree bank wont give you the smallest possible turning circle. Instead feather the boost while using only elevators in 90 degrees of bank. This would kill me the first time I tried to use it in a dogfight.
Fox McCloud 007 Exactly right. The Starling's main cutoff turn happens when you start to go downward and glide. It's crazy.
GhillieMaster So how do you disable the focus camera mapped on B? It screws me up and I cant use my bomb camera effectively because of it.

thanks I need a starling guide as I've finally bought one. I grounded someone (in a B-11?) in my new starling, they eventually came back in their starling and he finally grounded me (over mil base) after about 2 minutes of dogfighting. I was def using too much boost... hindsight 20/20 i was constantly losing the agility by boosting. So the winner will be the person who doesn't start boosting out of frustration in a long drawn out turning fight.

I love your videos. I've learned a lot about the starling. I have a comment. Not a criticism. I watch your vids on my phone. Clips made in the dark are so hard to see I generally turn them off. I listened to this one all the way through. But it's a dissapointment not being able to see it. You have lots of daytime footage of the starling, is there a reason why you made this one all night time?

Reg you have to get a lot of practice with it. At first I thought it was terrible but after I watched Ghillie I played with it and now I am pretty good. Yesterday I took out two hydras at once then spawn killed them with bombs.

If you want to land go very low against the runway and pull up with the brakes on, you will stall and eventually will land and brake pretty fast
