  • The HurriKane has proved his quality by beating scoring records in germany. But... I'm sorry but I will find it hilarious if Spurs win a trophy before he does :o) On the other hand, I am delighted that Dier has seized his opportunity to show his quality, as he did not deserve the contempt that some so-called Spurs 'fans' were exhibiting.

  • Hey Ali. I find it hard to get excited about our youth players. I see almost every other premier league club bringing their youth through, with the big clubs like Liverpool, City, Chelsea & Utd doing so successfully. When it comes to Spurs the last youth player who made the first team and became a success was Kane. We've had others like Winks & Skipp but they've both just fallen short. Whether that's just been a by-product of the many changes of managers and styles we've had, i don't know. With all the exciting youth products we seem to have I wonder why we don't trust our youth players as much as other teams do?

    @zip7275@zip727524 күн бұрын
    • Because we have had managers who don’t value our youth setup, until now

    • It’s especially frustrating given how we could cash in on the likes of Skippy when they were still performing well. He would be a great asset to half the Prem, he’s rotting on the bench for us.

      @Tony-tg4tz@Tony-tg4tz24 күн бұрын
    • @AJBenny159 this is factually incorrect. Jose gave a lot of players their debut. Just because you didn't like those managers, doesn't mean you should blatantly lie. Ange has only given 1 academy player mins this season.

  • To understand the outrage being exhibited nowadays, I think it helps to look at road rage. Cars are supposed to help us get more quickly from A to B, so when we are held up by traffic congestion it is easy to become irritated. Add to that evident abuses by other road users (and short fuses on the part of certain individuals in certain circumstances) and one can see where road rage stems from. But now we have the increasingly rapid computer world that has raised people's expectations regarding the speed and convenience with which things are 'supposed' to be resolved. So one can see how 'rage' in general may have been fostered by the expectations of immediacy of the computer world, particularly in the context of an apparent growing sense of entitlement in modern times.

  • We’ve improved under Ange this season no doubt but we don’t deserve champs league, if we did we’d of taken at least 6 points out of the wolves Fulham and Newcastle games of which we took none and were dominated in all three. We could potentially lose all the next 4 and beat Burnley and Sheff Utd but still take 5th and that’s how I see it going. Europa league isn’t the end of the world and it’s also a cup we have a chance of winning…… yes levy and the boys want champs league but that’s for the money, we’d have absolutely no chance in that competition. Plus as I say we don’t deserve to be there. Villa went and won at arsenal last week, came from behind today to beat Bournemouth and the table don’t lie. We had our chance to take control of 4th but didn’t take it, so we’re best to just forget about that now, go into these next 4 big games and compete with those sides better than we did at Newcastle and we’ll see where we are. It would be typical spurs to lose 3 of the 4 but the one they win is city so it blows the title race wide open again.

    @craigyp@craigyp24 күн бұрын
    • Yes, Ange is better than a manager who didn't want to be here and threw the players and the club under a bus. The 21/22 conte was quite good though, collecting 71 points and 4th place. That is the mark Ange should be measured against, and who knows, he might better that. There's still a few games to go.

      @richarddaygm@richarddaygm24 күн бұрын
    • @@richarddaygm I agree mate but I do think Harry got Conte out of many sticky situations in that season and to be fair to big Ange he hasn’t had him this season and if he did we’d be at least 10 points better off for me. And also back then in that 21/22 season our main threat for 4th spot was arsenal who we beat to it and as hard as it is to say look where they are now…… We’ve got better no doubt but not to the level some fans think we have I believe, for me 5th spot and europa league is about right if you look at the season as a whole. But again you’re spot on as anything could change with these games coming up, but had we gone up to Newcastle last week and won handily I’d probably never of made this original comment in the first place haha. So this is what worries me really.

Feel like at least he could offer us the same quality as destiny driving forward and playing inverted with his quality on the ball. Great pass success rate etc. Just worried that with two full backs in Davies being a good all rounder no doubt and Emerson’s attacking qualities being his downfall, that we could get found out with this role being so important to the way we play. Aside from yesterday, he has been great all season. Even yesterday he had good moments too, especially when he moved a bit deeper down the pitch. Some great turns and clever passes to beat our press but overall, not a great game and partly at fault for the 2-0 goal.

Unfortunately it has been a season dominated by injuries and suspensions for Spurs - and no trophies. Anyway, I would go with Ben Davies for the left full back role for the rest of the season. He wont let Spurs down. Definitely think a good No. 9 is the top priority for Spurs this summer. If they can also get a decent No. 6 as well then that would be great.

I think Son needs a contract extension and I just wish he'd take more shots from outside the box. Manchester United got lucky against Coventry, thanks for the update, take care of yourself and enjoy.

  • Hi Ali, once again a good informative video. I love the way you talk about Spurs. It is annoying some times when we have such a creative team and we do not win any trophies. I have been supporting Spurs since the likes of Hoddle and Waddle graced the pitch. Cannot afford to get a season ticket, but this is the 2nd best thing. I am excited about another transfer summer with Ange at the helm. I would like to see Spurs go for an out and out striker like Ollie Watkins or Ivan Toney, someone that can header the ball into the back of the net. We have such good wide players now that I feel we need someone with a killer instinct to just finish teams off. I feel Son is a better player on the left of the front 3 rather than an out and out striker (almost like a false 9). We need someone to complement Madders in the middle and a decent 6. A Pirlo style player who can orchestrate the midfield and ping balls out left, right and centre. Hopefully we finish 4th, but if we do not then 5th would be just fine in Ange's first season. We finished 8th last season under Conte and I feel that would be an improvement ahead of Brighton and Newcastle. COYS!!!

  • Thanks, Ali. Werner is a tricky one; for £15mil I would take him as a squad player, mostly pleased with him so far - I've really wanted him to thrive at Tottenham - but being one of the highest earners is a turn off. Sonny can definitely play on the wing for another two years at least, imo. A number 6, a winger, striker, and a full back or two is probably what we need. What do you think about where we need to strengthen? Edit: just seen the last 20 mins. Do you know which players could come in as 6, winger, striker?

  • As per a Daniel Levy squad, there is no back up to Udogie - the perpetually injured Sess and the less-than-inverted Davies provide the often deployed smoke and mirrors. Or the 'small blanket' as Mourinho used to have it. And, tbh, if Werner is the height of our ambition on the left flank, Tottenhm deserves nothing. It makes no difference if Son will be redeployed next season. The bargain bin might be okay for the 36K capacity, 6-8th place regulars we were, but it's embarrassing if that is the extent of the club's ambition with this cash cow of a stadium. Is that we what spent almost a decade building this for - to buy cheap offcuts from the Bundesligue? Can we get Edgar Davids back, def more of a 'bargain' than Conor Gallagher.

Listen to what Ange has said and FFS, Timo has done a job when we've had no other options and he has actually notched a few goals, assists and has contributed. He is very very far from the worldclass kane/son combo that we're used to, but what is it you're actually expecting? Do you think we can just buy half a City type squad in one season whilst breaking in a new manager and go on to win an immediate domestic treble? Are you 10 years old? Have you been playing too much FIFA? Seriously... Wtf?

Allso we need a backup for Porro - I would personally resign Kyle Walker-Peters and maybe have a go at Lloyd Kelly for the left side defender backup. And I would like a player like Conor Gallagher or Szymanski from Fenerbahce for the midfield. Ivan Toney would be fantastic in the current system... But I'm affraid we're out of that race.

  • Hello Ali Gold! Thanks for yet another informative video on the latest about Spurs. Just to pick up on a couple of things you mentioned. 1. the Taupe Haze 3rd kit (official name for the colour, cf. Chris Burns report on football.london) reminds me of Sir Alex's famous HT change of kit. With my friend (a United fan), we did some survey and most big teams with a gray kit fail to win trophies. One of them being Bayern Munich 1998/99 Champions League final. I wonder if you have better statistics. 2. Statistics and data in football get me really interested. Before watching your video, I just finished a recent one by David Sumpter (Liverpool fan and an establish applied Mathematician). It is really interesting. I put the link below for your reference. He was approached by some Premier League clubs before but it was not his beloved club. I wonder if Spurs have gone in and asked for his service. Another thing that pains me is that I was not trained in his area, otherwise I would have got a chance to speak with him in some professional capacity. kzhead.info/sun/g7R8lqidb4acfYk/bejne.htmlsi=En0BCXy5IZhX1X-9

VAR is a disaster in its current state, it needs scaling back, used for off ball incidents, scrap VAR offsides and give power back to referee's who should be able to ask VAR to verify important decisions and cards issued, otherwise let the refereea manage the games. • A great shame for Destiny, he's handled the various challenges this season really well, and a place in the Euros would have been a suitable reward. Not to mention great experience. But over the years Davies has proved that In Ben We Trust My all time favourite shirt has always been and probably always will be the 1981 Le Coq Sportif v-neck with the centrally placed cockerel. It just oozed class, like Hoddle when he wore it And yeah, Man U v Cov was one of the great FA Cup ties, but you can't watch every game

  • Hi Ali, thank you for another video. A few points, if I may: (a) I believe the first time that they wore the next season's jersey on the last game of the current season was the 1991 FA Cup Final where short shorts were replaced by knee-length ones which set a trend that is still ongoing. (b) I like the boring white tops. Keeping it simple is the way to go, for me at least. But of course, aesthetics is a matter of personal taste. (c) I have re-purposed the old Dele Alli song and I hope you like it. If fellow fans like it, perhaps it will catch on. Feel free to make any changes: We've got Ali Goldie Ali He makes all Spurs fans understand His videos are for free He gives all Spurs fans glee We've got Goldie Ali.

  • Villa now six points clear and with the fixtures we have to come and one of best players this season out for the duration I think CL in now unlikely. That said if we think back to the last game of last season with the Stereophonics singing "I dont know where we are going now" and HK doing a slow lap of honour I would have bitten your hand off for where we are now. Patience and perspective is needed now and for a wee while yet imo.

  • Being a reserve GK must be a weird one - do you drop a level to play and maybe then still not be no1 unless drop several levels - or do you stay and train knowing helping the team and training at a high level every day - then the money side that maybe only 3rd or 4th tier def get games and be in fraction of the money - as a fan in my 40s being a no3 GK would have been ideal job but when younger would I have wanted to play - it’s must be tough mentally unlike other postions where can be a sub and def get appearances at sone level of game

Being fitter and looking after your body with diet and using modern sports science (including tapering) is likely to extend your career, not shorten it.

  • Hey Uncle Ally not commented for a while. It’s early days for some of out team so i know it’s not the finished article. Here my few thoughts. I’ve Never thought Bissouma has played great in any of our games but he has had around 2 really good games. And on Destiny I’ve never been truly happy with his defending. He makes marauding attacking runs and I love it. He makes some great tackles and has owned a lot of attackers. But on the whole he has been one of the main contributors to goals against us. He is one of the worst people defending during corners. If you noticed he just stood there during the corners for NewCastle I have to admit I’ve been more frustrated with Destiny than I’ve been happy so that my few thoughts in those two players. I’m hoping Ange eventually drops Bissouma until Bissouma gets his head in the game. And Destiny well let’s hope he recovers but I’m glad Davies is there

  • I don't think there's anything 'natural' about thugs targeting a player and this happens far too much in the EPL. Bentancur was rightly furious on his return from injury to see the injury targeted (I shall never forget Mackay's reaction re Bremner on coming back from a broken leg and find his fury perfectly justified). We want to see the best players on the pitch, but they're precisely the ones who are most targeted (hence Maddison's caution since his return).
