you are clear and objective in your explanation, without extra fluff or conversation and for that i am deeply appreciative, and truly enjoy your style of teaching. so again thank you, very informative.
Yeah no time for the fluff, thanks for watching and commenting :)
wow thats amazing. the discipline and patience you have to have to make this is incredible! i bow to you
Great video, super instructional and I love the end result! This is one of the best punch needle rug beginning-to-end how-to videos I've seen so far. Keep up the good work!
You did a great job! Love the design
great video! watched a whole lot of rug punch videos and this is one of my favourite. gonna make mine soon just need those tack strips
Thank you so much for the kind words! Good luck on your rug journey :)
I l❤ve this!! I also loveeee the idea for that design painted on the back of a Jean jacket 😍
I watched so many videos, this is by far the most helpful for a beginner! Thank you so much!
Yay! Im so glad that I could help :)
Your voice is so relaxing, the angles of the video are so relaxing, everything about this was so relaxing and good ! Thanks, about to head to Michael's to get my material to do this!!
I’m so happy that I could soothe you :’) enjoy your project x
omg i saw this on depop the other day it’s so good
hahaha no way!! Thank you sm xx
More videos please. It was really cool!
Do you know what would happen if I snipped the loops on the front, once the glue dried on the back? I want to try making something where i can snip the loops and make it really fluffy and fuzzy looking. Would that work? I havent tried punch needling before
Hey there, great question! I currently love this method of trimming and shearing once the glue is dry for that fluffy effect. I actually suggest using sheep shears or the carpet electric trimmer for a faster result (I use the blue, red, yellow carpet trimmer from Amazon). Hope this helps :)
Such a good informative video thank you
This is so helpful! Thanks and glad i found your channel :)
Also how did you hang the rug on your wall?
I'm so glad that I could help! :-)
@@kellygilbert9225 I attached some macrame yarn with some strong glue, and then sewed in a couple stitches so it was extra secure! I hope this helps :-)
Your rug is AWESOME!!
Thank you so much!
I love it!!
Thank you Ali! :)
Thank you so much this was really well put together. Your rug looks amazing. I just moved into my new apartment and I trying to find wall hanging but there all so pricey and everything has to be custom made.
Awe I appreciate the nice comment :) Yeah these rugs can be super pricey, so I def encourage you to make your own if you have access to these materials :)
Thank you. This is the help I needed.
So happy I could help!
thanks for the video! very informative. going to the craft store tomorrow hah.
thank you for the comment, I'm so happy to help! I wish you the best on your punch needle journey ❤️✨
So good tutorial thank you ❤
Thank YOU!
That design was begging to be a rug. So cute!!
Awwwwe
Nice thanks for this
Is it just one strand of thread or 2 like in a tufting gun
what paste did you use after you're done with your product?
Hey! Great video :) A very cool rug too!
Thank you so much xxx
The design is so pretty! Can I also trim punch needle rug using razor like how the tufting gun users do?
Thanks for much! Yes you totally can use a rug shaver to make it more of a loop pile look :)
I am going to try to make one of my cat. I will draw him on my iPad first to see what it looks like. so fun
I hope you don’t mind, but I have a question. I’ve seen multiple videos now, but I cant quite figure this out. Is the side that you punch the actual rug side or is it the back?
Hey thanks for this questions! The side that you are punching is technically your backside, since it doesn't look shaggy or loopy like rug should be. So the back will be your rug facing up, side.Hope this helps!
wowwww so gudddd
thank you!! :)
Fantastic video, super informative. Where do you buy the work material?
Thank you so much!
this is rad
Thank you!! :)
Do you ever shave them with clippers?
Any idea where I can get the punch needle 😊
love it!! how did you hang it on the wall?
Thank you sm ❤️ I attached some macrame yarn with some strong glue, and then sewed in a couple stitches so it was extra secure! I hope this helps :-)
Wow
Great video, thank you :)
xo
hi may i know big ur frame is? This video really helps!! i love it
Can’t remember off hand, but I have another video that goes into those details!
Hi s there a size for the needle for rug?
Curious to know where do you place your frame without the tack strips getting in the way?
Great question! i buy dollar store pool tubes, cut them down the one side so there’s one slit in the tube and then wrap those around the wood where the tack strips are so I don’t cut myself! Hope that answers your question :)
How are you holding that while you're working ? On an art easel or just have it on your lap? The frame seems easy enough to build but I'm not sure how to keep it steady when I'm working.
Hey there! I have one side laying on my lap and the other on a short stool. Takes some time to get used to, but an art easel would def better for the back haha
Wonderful tutorial and just as great of a design. I loved it. Thank you so much for sharing.
why did you use 2 different punch needles? is one of them better than the other?
They are actually the exact same :) I think I was experimenting with the feel of plastic vs wood and I preferred the wood style.
Awesome video! About How long did this rug take to make?
I think 15-20 hours, once I got the hang of it. Practiced for about 3-4 hours to get in the rhythm of things. Having a podcast or audio book to listen to can really help the time pass :)
Is it completely necessary to add staples even when you have the little nails on the frames? 👀 I bought the tack strips because I wanted to avoid stapling it jajaja. 😂
Its def up to you and your budget! You could go w/o the staples but I wouldn't recommend it. When you work on your rug overtime, you'll notice some of the tack strips not gripping as tight as they should and the staples just add that extra security! You'll want your monks cloth to stay as tight as possible so I would say it's worth the extra expense.
@@opus2628 thank you very much! I think I’ll consider them then.☺️
What am I doing wrong? Every time I punch, some of the loops come out and some stay in
11:02 *Aicmophobia warning* if you have fear of needles skip this part
i wish my hand never hurt making these haha
for real tho!! Its so much work, but def worth the time in the end!
What kind of yarn do you use?
A mix of acrylic and wool :)
how much yarn did you end up using?
About 4 skeins of yarn :) Not much tbh
Do I see green eyes
