@@diabetic6567 In the earlier preview, they definitively showed a player summoning a Pumpkin-Headed specter in that Boss Fight against Godric the Golden. Make of that what you will.

The good ideas in Dark Souls 2 are acknowledged and not just ignored by From Software? What is real anymore?
I think that they acknowledged them pretty early on but wanted to try experimenting with stuff that was completely different to get a feel for where the sweet spot would be.

Turns out Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro were just practice and gameplay tests to help From figure out how to truely make their vision.

Elden Ring feels like a combination of every Soulsborne game (actually, I'm not sure how much it has from Bloodborne), and that they tried to fix mechanics, and fix old concepts. It will be fun to see. Edit: The thing at 7:46 seems pretty eldritch actually.

@@shinyrayquaza9 Just wait till he finds some dumb shit like the gold coin from demons souls and is killing bosses by blowing bubbles at them.
I could see them being used for crowd control since they're so slow. Like if your being invaded and fighting indoors you could cast that spell to block off a hallway and get some space between you and your attacker to heal and rebuff, that is if you can't just roll past them. Which now that I think about it would be a good mechanic. Having some attacks be unrollable forcing you to learn to parry or deal with them in other ways.
@@devinnall2284 Or against a ludwig/gascoine style "jump and hang in the air before dropping" attack. Could blow bubbles that linger where they land so they get chunked for it.
@@devinnall2284 They didn't look like they did much damage even when they did hit and there were only 4-6 of them, so may as well just run through them (with your shield up even) and punish the caster, who just wasted their non-renewable resource (FP). The DS2 Soul Spear Barrage, even if it did very little damage per hit, also shot like 20-30 little soul darts and staggered pretty well if you got hit by more than 3-4 of them. That was a good hallway/crowd control spell.
