I picked Up the Sony SRS-XB13 to test out and compare against the JBL Clip 4, JBL Go 3 and Soundcore Mini 3 bluetooth speakers. In a sea of small bluetooth speakers claiming to be the best, Sony brings their EXTRA BASS, a speakerphone and complete water/dust protection in a great sounding device.

Get vid bro...love the honesty and you being genuine. Question though, does the Sony by chance have an independent volume control? I've had the experience where you max out the phone volume setting, but you can still go louder by adjusting the volume on the speaker itself. Just curious

Jbl is louder but the sound quality is cleaner on the Sony
Hey man I know this is a year late but this was the best video I could find on actually comparing all these speakers in this price/performance bracket, and ended up going with the JBL Clip 4. The best buy I went to had both that and the Sony on display, and you can really tell the difference when they're cranked to the max, the clip just sounds a lot louder/clearer in my opinion. Thanks for the in-depth video, haven't regret my purchase since!

Perfect review, quick and to the point. Never thought I'd be in the market for a small Bluetooth but I was playing monopoly with family and wanted tunes, but not a lot just background. My xb33 is awesome but not always convenient to carry around or travel with, this will fit that role nice.

Sony xb13 is a great design. The dsp and bottom diffuser keep the sound uniform regardless of placement. Not as loud as anker but better balanced full bodied. Better strap and visible buttons. Excellent personal speaker
I bought the sony paired with my sony xperia 5 iii and the phone has some settings that can change the speakers sound and its quite interesting how it sounds compared to the jbl in your video great video

I just recently upgraded all my old speakers. I couldn't find JBLs in stock anywhere so I went back with Sony, this was the last speaker I bought. I just wish you could party connect it, but I can live with it.

Get the go 3 I have the flip 5 to but then the go3 caught my eye it looks good and a mini speaker I went to go get it it is worth it!.

Clip 4 sounds "better", because it is louder. If you want to compare sound quality - set up the same volume level on the speakers.

I have a go 3 that won't connect. Reset with volume up plus blu tooth button till turns off does not work. What's the next step
soooo, for using a go speaker to clip to a water bottle shoulder sling/backpack and go on a mile to 6 mile walk.... and/or sit under a car port... on a porch/back patio and chill in your living room/bedroom would you still say jbl clip 4 is the best for volume and sound quality? also, is it good for rock/alternative music? or... is there something better? I will switch up what I listen to between rock/metal/rap/hip hop. maybe even sometimes just some instrumental or acoustic guitar versions of songs... so what's my best bet for the price to take on the go walking, and listen to at home/outside just hanging out? clip 4?

All these speakers look and sound great. I just wish they come with a bicycle garmin mount or gopro mount that you can easily mount it on your road bike or mountain bike. if you just hang it by the string, it will rock back and forth and bang against the handle bar.
That's a great idea. The only one that comes with something like that is the JBL Wind 3. I've done a video on it.

I'm in the market for a good portable speaker that's around $100 or less. Debating on the Stormbox Micro or the Bose macro. Still undecided. Any suggestions on a good one that sounds good & a good IP rating?

I went with Tribit Micro and love it. Sounds better thsn Bose. And it has better bass than the same class speakers from Jbl, Sony or Soundcore .
On that jbl it’s a bass radiator. Keep the awesome work up. 2 thumbs up.

There's in a very good reason to actually put those speakers in the water you get what you'd expect they won't work until they're dried out and even though you put them in the water it'll probably still rust out something somewhere it just better not to put the water on it it's just on there for protection just in case you know so you don't lose the whole thing you don't have to worry about it you can have a little fun if it starts raining or he starts swimming you know you're not going to put it in the water unless you have to unless there's an accident or something
the back plate in the jbl go 3 is for the vibration effect in the sand it make the sand dance around it

clip 4 has little bass, but it sounds somehow more lively .. I don’t know how to explain, but other speakers like tribit stormbox mini 2, they have more bass, but it’s useless in the street, it’s still not enough bass for open space, and since there is nothing in them except for the bass, it turns out a deaf, constrained sound (jbl pleases with its sound, despite the fact that it is super light, you can carry it in your jacket pocket and it will not be pulled, it works all day .. But it does not show a charge percentage as clip 3( I think if you combine all the columns into one, slightly larger, there will be something legendary ... Well, or wildly expensive)

Great video.. I bought the Sony XB12 on sale around $30 just for the office and was impressed with the sound for the size. Can manipulate the bass depending where it is placed. I love they can be daisy chained. Does anyone know if you can connect the Sony XB12, And XB 13 together? I'd place the other at my coworkers desk 15 ft away for a better experience. I just cant understand how anyone thinks the clip is a good speaker JBL should hide their heads at this failure, sound quality is fair at best , the bass is farty and the max volume is almost unlistenable indoors because its so low. I have had no name speakers with beter sound for half the price.

The sony is the worst sounding of the 4. We all love bass, but its a 1 trick pony, everything else about it is terrible, and you keep saying it has a clean sound when it actually sounds muddy and muffled. Get the clip 4, or even the go 3 instead.
Totally worthless speakers all of them, except from Soundcore. VERY overpriced. Look elsewhere, Tribit Micro for instance.
