Back in the 90's I saw a big one of these. It was like a stack of pancakes 4 feet tall and 5 foot radius (about 10 feet wide). So the display was a big curved surface on the side. That also kept people away from this big spinning arm with the LEDS. This is a very cool project!👍

This is so cool. Love the use of the induction coils for power. Addressable RGB LEDs would be an amazing update to this project.
Small tip, when you solder stranded wires with holders, heat the wire from the underside and add solder to the top side, that will make the solder wick down into the strands more thoroughly.
This whole video has some bad soldering practices. But for his purpose, I'm sure he doesn't care. Lmao

The wireless setup was genius. But you can also use brush and commutator for high power application

Buen diseño, hace 10 años que he querido uno. Finalmente lo podre hacer en casa con CNC y Grabado láser; solo dure un poco en hacer las maquinas.
los diseños incluyen el sujetador de pcbs y algunos aditamentos también hechos con una impresora 3D hecha en casa.

Attenzione. Nello schema e sul PCB il sensore di Hall ha i pin 1 e 3 invertiti. Attention. In the schematic and on the PCB, the Hall sensor has pins 1 and 3 reversed.

Шум самого движка, шум воздуха, рассекаемого платой с элементами - мозги не протекут после часа работы таких часов над ухом? Не подумайте не правильно - это не стеб. Это реальный вопрос, потому что, повторюсь, проект сам по себе весьма интересный.
This is a valid question. I imagine it would be pretty noisy. It really is a cool project though. I would look into making an acrylic case for it to contain most of the noise.

This is the coolest project ever seen
Looks like a Weller temperature regulated soldering iron. Uses a magnetic tip and at a certain temperature the magnetic force disappears and the switch opens and when it cools down just a little the magnetic force returns and closes the switch.

сюда очень подходит мем "как нарисовать лошадь". Самая сложная часть - сделать сам пропеллер. Нужно рассчитать, где должен быть центр масс, что за мотор используется (у меня мотор от вентилятора не подошел!), а информации по этой части в видео и по ссылкам "на отъебись"
А какая разница какой мотор? Главное чтоб сумел разогнать скорость необходимую для полученния еффекта. А частоту вращения ардуинка считает датчиком холла. А вот вес подбирать реально какое то извращение. Уж проще сделать этот пропеллер симетричным относительно оси вращения.

That's cool and all, but without an RTC chip, that thing isn't going to keep accurate time, and without any buttons or wifi, you'll have to keep reconnecting it to a computer via USB to re-adjust the time.
Ikr, there is a Arduino that has wifi. I think it's called: Arduino Wi-Fi

So it looks like the thing in the middle is an induction 5v supply, but I don't see any data lines. The sensor on the side of the board seems to be sensing a pass and thus is a timing element for the display. So you would have to somehow set the arduino's time and it is taking care of updating it? Any reason why not to just solder the 5v wires into the through hole? instead of on top of it.
You definitely have to be trained very well by someone who has knowledge of electronics. 😉😉😉

It's a great project but I wonder, is it possible to speed up the frequency to eliminate the blind points? I guess maximum clock frequency of nano is about 8 or 16 MHz and it might be not enough
What do you mean? The flickering you see in the video is due to camera shutter. You won't see this when you look at it with your naked eye. 60 Hz is more than enough for POV.
