What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go ary. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.
What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. What will you do? Would you choose to intervene in these situations? Watch and join the discussion.
I think the problem with this scenario is that if a male does this it is considered gay, but if a female does this then it is is considered just being a Tom-boy, or feminism and standing up for women’s equality. Like bruh........what do you mean?
100% true
I can agree with this fact but I’ve gotten so used to it I don’t care at this point. At first I used to get all worked up about it. But sometimes it still triggers me.

You do know that different official spellings of certain words exist in various countries right?
@Alex Winter lol its spelled differently in different countries...and I'm English you insensitive cow :)
I think its unfair how girls can play with "boy toys" and not be judged, while boys who play with "girl toys" are immediately assumed to be gay or feminine, JUST PLAY WITH ANY TOY YOU WANT GUYS
I usually don't chime on these sorts of things, but yes...girls might become engineers and boys might become fashion designers and there's nothing wrong with any of that. All of it is part of living in a free society.
Bruh my female bff plays with transformers when my bro plays with my lalaloopsy my mom snatch him i support him
And there's nothing wrong with boys being feminine.
I'm a boy who isn't into things a lot of boys at my school like such as sports or video games. I'm more into art and singing, and everyone makes fun of me calling me gay. Every time people see me with one of my friends who is a boy, they always come up to me and ask if we're dating, and it's honestly just really irritating at this point.
@@edward.g Hold your head high and keep on being you! Your interest don't have anything to do with being gay or not. There's a ton of gays who are into boy things and even more straight guys that are into "girly" things. And art and singing isn't even girly, it's for everyone. It's horrible how far toxic masculinity has come to make human artistic expression considered "not a boy thing". The bullies are just violent toxic idiots. Or maybe they're low-key pissed because they don't have artistic talent and can't sing as good as them. Don't let it get to you. You can beat them the best by just continuing being a star at your art until everyone, even the bullies, will not be able to deny how great you are. And girls love artsy guys, especially if they sing, so the guys may bully you for "being gay" even if your not (even if you were there wouldn't be anything wring with that), but the girls probably hope that you're not lol. Imagine if the bullies crush fell for you. Now that would be a victory!
As a girl who grew up playing with dinosaurs I'd get very angry at these moms
Damn it! Please explain to me why it is believed that dinosaurs are for boys? I first heard about it this morning, I had a "pattern break" and I'm still trying to find a connection.
Oml same
I have a friend who played with both Barbies and dinosaurs as a child. Does that make her bisexual? Oh my God! Yeah, I didn't use the OMG! Straight people are such a-holes.
Dinosaurs are ok for both sexes. They are animals, so they appeal to female nurturing but cam also aggressive fighting for the boys.
@I like minecraft now tf is it different? Toys are toys, why should it matter?
I feel like it’s a bigger deal when a boy wants a “girl toy” than when girl wants a “boy toy”
Not really, I used to play with A LOT of toy cars and I didn’t grow up to be a fast moving machine. A girl can like to play with action figures and a boy can play with dolls. It’s not a bigger deal you aren’t born with likes or dislikes, boys that like dolls and princess are not any less than the ones that play with action figures. Men are so stereotyped in how they should act and what they like, that it’s sad how people like you whether you are male, female, to non-binary or any other, don’t realize how normal it is to like something new, it does not affect you. Don’t limit what boys can like. Sometimes stereotypes like this can make young boys judge others that are different as they grow. Please don’t let stupid stereotypes get in they way of someone’s happiness. Have a wonderful day or night, I hope u will have a better view tomorrow. 😔😉
@@veronicasepulveda8468 thx!
It is, There's a double standard, I was allowed to play with dinosaurs and gi joes as a kid but my brother would get in trouble or even spanked if he played with the barbies or played with the fake makeup kits :(
@@gracehaven5459 If one limits someone’s likes just because of their gender, they will grow up judging those who did not grow up that way that happen to like “different” things.
Realistically, it's because there are "girls toys" and "toys". There are SOME boy toys like Dragon-Flyz and the Queasy Bake Oven but toys usually come in a standard version and a girls version... every toy store has a "for girls" aisle but there is no "for boys" aisle... it's just Building Toys, Model Kits, Sports Equipment, Plushies, Remote Control, etc... and all of those are just "for kids". A "boys toy" is like Lego or a badminton set... a "girls toy" is a crying baby.

I was born back in 1960. Though I naturally had obvious girl toys, most of my favorite toys were boy toys. I was a tomboy for the most part. I got along better with my male peers. Eventually I became more girlish, but never gave up being a tomboy to a certain degree. Last time I climbed a tree, approximately 68 feet, I was 51 years old. Now I'm 62 and wish my health would allow me to climb trees again.

That girl in the purple/pink has such a pure heart. It was touching. She had so much courage to confront the other mom and ask questions while sharing about herself. She did this all in the effort to change the moms mind for the other girl.
"When it's against the grain, it's even more attractive." That's setting the little girl up to think she has to do everything to appease a suitor. She should just be able to play with it because she likes it. That's it!

Reminds me of when I wanted a pair of swimming shorts when we were swimsuit shopping, and my mom said "no, those are for boys. If you see girls ones I'll get them for you." They had shorts in the girls section too, but I didn't like the colours or designs on them. We ended up leaving the store empty handed and I remembered saying on the way home, "so what if they're for boys, as long as they fit me and I like them?" Eventually I did end up getting swimming shorts that were in a colour that I liked (red with black stripes down the side), but they were from the girl's section at another store. 🩳
@Jess Chan red and black are one of my favorite colours💀

I love how this is narrated like a nature documentary.
I remember when I was a kid, I wanted a happy meal, and I wanted one of the “boy toys” so I asked my dad to ask them for that specific one. The McDonald’s employee said “oh! But aren’t you a girl? Maybe you should have a girl toy. Here!” She gives me one of the Barbie doll things. I don’t remember. I politely responded that I’d rather have the other toy. Which was a car or something, and she looked at my dad and started laughing and handed me the car toy and was like “so this is how kids are now a days!” I didn’t care. Neither did my dad. We walked out of the mc Donald’s with my food and the toy. I feel like toys shouldn’t be gender based. Everyone should be allowed to like what they like! Even if it’s something as small and random as a mc Donald’s toy. Lol
When I was like 4, they were once giving in McDonald's Barbies to girls and Batmen to boys. And I really wanted the Barbie! I also was very excited I would get her (in my poor transgender girl mind...). Of course, I got the Batman Car instead. And I cried so much. My aunt made me up as story where Barbie was the co-pilot in Batman's car. It kind of made me feel better. I had that stupid car for many years, along with the unplayed Hotwheels collection my grandma made for me in the hopes I would eventually like it, but I didn't, so I heired it to my little brother who lost them all in a week 😛
So if a girl plays with “boy toys”they are tomboys but if a boy plays with a “girl toy” the boy is considered gay. Like what?

I'm going to say this...I had a Drowsy doll and a Cabbage Patch kid growing up... It made a more sensitive person in life and understanding emotions and actually caring about things that can matter in life. In example a sense of compassion! I'm glad my parents didn't deny me that aspect!!!
If I grew up playing with hot wheels there’s no reason a boy cannot grow up playing with dolls. Neither change your sexuality.
You know what's weird when a girl gets a boy toy it doesn't actually seem as weird as when a boy gets a girl toy

Kids deserve to play with any toy they want, as play is important for ALL. They should feel good to be them.
This topic helps me realize just how fortunate I was to grow up with a good loving family. I had all kinds of different toys growing up, and my parents let me play with Barbie without ever questioning it. Heck Barbie had some cool things that my other action figures didn’t have. She had an RV motor home, an airplane, all kinds of cool different houses with working elevators. I also liked it because Barbie and Ken seemed more realistic than all my other toys and plus it was nice to finally have something my sister and I could both share and enjoy. Kids just want to play with what looks fun to them, I’m thankful my family never made it a gender thing.

Parents with daughters that like “boy toys” should consider themselves lucky Toys marketed towards boys are typically cheaper than those marketed towards girls Also While shocking to many parents, liking something non-stereotypical for your gender doesn’t make you gay 💀 If your kid ends up coming out as gay and they coincidentally liked toys marketed for the opposite gender, congrats Your child is a stereotypical gay 👍
I knew a couple who had an only child. He kept begging for a barbie. They thought he was gay until they found out that all his friends had sisters and could rip the heads off of their sister's barbies. He didn't have a sister, but he wanted to rip off Barbie's head too. So they got him a barbie, and he ripped her head off and was happy.

It's sad to see how people immediately got involved when the girl wanted a "boy toy", but very few thought it was ok for the boy to get a doll....
This is probably one of the most relatable videos I have ever seen. Back when this happened to me, my parents were worried. When I was going to put something that was not gender appropriate for me in the cart at the store, my dad atopped me. But that didn't stop me from wanting toys like that. I still wanted them, and then from what I heard, my dad was like "We need to do something about this" and my mom was like: SHE JUST LIKES THOSE STUFF THIS WON'T MEAN ANYTHING FOR HER FUTURE! And seriously parents like this are so annoying, coming from experience, these moms act like their daughter is 6 only letting them play with barbies. Plus, I have seen shirts say that real men wear pink which is according to these parents: Only for girls.
It just warmed my cold ass heart when all the little kids stepped in.

It’s so good that people don’t have a trouble with girl playing with “boy toys” anymore, but so sad that so many are still against boys playing with “girl toys”.
A friend of my sister used to play with barbies before his little sister was born. There's nothing to do with sexuality or gender identity, now this guy is 20, he has a girlfriend. Nothing changed in him just because he played with barbies.
Fede Tripps hes gay in the inside maybe....?
Nobody can know that xD I really don't think that toys can determine sexual orientation. I didn't play so much with dolls, I hated them, I liked to play with animals or dinosaurs; I used to play soccer in the park with my friends and I can assure you I'm straight. Playing with toys identified as 'boy toys' never 'brainwashed' me.

Fede Tripps I used to play vehicles toys when I was a boy and I never play barbies and I turn out to be gay.:)
It's exactly what I'm saying. The toys you play with as a child don't determine your sexual orientation. Being with people determine your sexual orientation.

True when I was younger they turned me to a lesbain 😅
You know what *toys are toys they are for any gender and some boys girls want the other gender dolls toys*

I hate gendering clothing or toys. Like, they have *NO* gender. People just like what they like and it dosent matter. If a boy likes dresses and has long hair or wants Barbie’s that dosent mean they are a girl or gay. If a girl likes a truck toy or has short hair or wears more “masculine” clothes that dosent mean they are a boy or are lesbian. I hate gendering things with no point in gendering. (Not hating on trans or homosexuals by the way if anyone got that impression. I am actually lesbian I just am speaking out against the stereotypes and the pointless gendered things) I actually had many Barbie’s when I was young, they were my mom’s when she was younger. I loved them. I also loved playing superhero’s with my dad. We had *sooooo* much fun with it :)

When I was a kid my parents never really worried all that much about what kind of toys I want, I’ve had idk how many dolls and my little ponies throughout my childhood and my parents had no issue with it, they weren’t worried about me being gay or anything like that, they just wanted me to like what I like and be happy about that.
Lucky the parent only cared about toys. My parents are so strict, I used get smacked for Pink being my fav colour
Yikes

When my brother was a little boy 👦, he used to sleep on a Dora The Explorer bed 🛌 and would always play with my Barbie dolls and rock my dolls and stuffed animals to sleep 💤. He would also feed his rubber ducky 🦆 a baby bottle 🍼. Now my brother is 17 years old and he is a sensitive person who knows how to talk to people.
round firepiece that you see when you at the anthem and the mirror mopio dancing
The fact that people assign us things based on what sort of thing we happen to have between our legs is kinda creepy if you think about it.
Haha one family just went in for a figget spinner
Oryx Clan what the hell is a 'figget spinner'
OMG, that will turn em gay!!!!!!!!
infinitude is gay bad?
Josh Dipple yes.
infinitude meany
Why is Michelle always the rude mom? The “donut” the “you need to lose weight” now “That’s for girls” ?!???
She's good at playing the rude mom, that's maybe the reason
I think it's called "acting"
Because she looks like a karen
And Tracis always the evil person
"woman who calls people out for a flat chest"
0:20 love how he just apeared casually
I saw that in a toy shop with a friend. We were messing around while looking at the dolls and we saw a little boy (5 years old) grabbing a doll stroller and his mother told him "put that back, it's for the girls." Me and my friend were very shocked but since we were very timid teenagers we didn't say anything.
Mom: I don't want him to end up like... Woman: I don't think your going to have a choice.
Mega oof
you're lolololol
Yo It's Alissa she doesn't want her son to end up transgender. Or gay. But being those things is okay. The world just doesn't see that.
Demons its me ya boy I agree with you
I swear some of these parents think “if my son plays with a doll he will become transgender” nice logic 🙄 I play with LEGO, toy cars, shooting games and I have never ever felt any masculinity
And even if they end up being trans
Same
I don't like girly toys I'd rather play in a remote control car and gun's
@Lewis Chacon average 11 year old
Same like, toys are for fun. Being gender specific ruins the purpose 🤨
THESE ARE SO ADDICTING
That guy's "And?" summed it all up for me :)
"Where does it say for boys?" THANK YOU
Amber Kiely does it say that anywhere
Amber Kiely some dolls say it only for girls and I hate it
barbie are awesome For real? I never seen a doll that said that? Maybe different country?
barbie are awesome which country do u live? i’ve never seen something like that before
It should
It’s stuff like this that leads to toxic masculinity/misogyny. Boys have been told their whole lives that they have to appear masculine and tough. They’ve basically been taught that being more feminine and showing emotions is “weak.” It’s actually why male suicide rates are so high. Men are being forced into a box of what society thinks men should be like and it’s incredibly toxic. My dad has been saying things to my brother like “don’t cry like a little girl” and “pink is a girl’s color” his entire life. My brother is only 11 and I’ve already seen toxic masculinity from him. Like when I offer him a bowl of food and he won’t take it because the bowl is pink. Young boys being taught that they have to be masculine is so incredibly harmful. I’m lucky that I’ve left behind the internalized misogyny my parents gave me. My friends have, too. Many of my guy friends are comfortable wearing skirts and nail polish because they aren’t afraid of showing their feminine side like so many men are today. I hope that in the future we’ll stop pointlessly gendering things like toys, clothes, and colors, and finally start letting people express themselves the way they want. Sorry for the long rant, this has been on my mind for a while.
I agree you with full-heartedly. So glad that you escaped from such a horrible father that caused the family to become toxic.
I don't have time to read this whole dang paragraph
Just judging by your pfp I can tell you're the person that would say this kinda stuff
@@WiiLoveToGame2064 you literally have a roblox profile picture… what’s ur point? 😭

El ray rojo clock
I used to wear this boys superman shirt when I was younger from my grandma's extra clothes for us grandkids. It was my favorite shirt in the whole world, but my grandma would always say "oh that's for boys" or make fun of me. I still wore it and I had such a little attitude about it lol.
No toy is meant for a certain gender. Heck, I wasn’t interested in dolls when I was small. I was more into these so called “boy” toys. Kids are kids. Let them be kids.
Me too
I never liked dolls I always played with boy toys and my family thought I was gonna be a stud but I’m straight and I dress like a girl and act like one
I hang out with my brothers all the time. I do girl things with my friends occasionally also. Kids should be able to play with whatever toys they want too.
Cole Pratt actually there’s not because it’s a free country and kids can play with whatever it’s just a stereotype and it’s small minded ppl like u that think there’s a actual gender that’s assigned to a certain kind of toy🙄
Cole Pratt ur a stereotyper because just as many girls that like pink and purple like blue and yellow and same for boys so just shut up because u sound like an ass and it’s offending me because I’m a tomboy
5:15 "let them play with what they want to play with" Me: mommy can i play with knives edit: thnx for epic likes bros
No
You can not play with knives but you can play with forks
Lillian Flynn NO!

First name Last name lol
When my son was a young boy he choosed a baby doll toy👶 and he was so happy treated the baby as if he is his little baby brother. Always take care of the toy . That was so beautiful 💝
As a girl I grew up playing action figures and legos just because your child is playing a girl toy or a boy toy doesn’t mean they’re the opposite gender.
Lmao when I was like six years old, I really wanted this pinkish purple stuffed elephant toy from Toys “R” Us. But my biological dad would not buy it. Said it was too girly, insisting I needed a “boy’s toy”. Flash forward, now I’m a 28-year-old man, married with three kids, I do all the stereotypical “male stuff“, such as routinely go shooting with any of my 12 guns, go to car shows to check out the old muscle cars, work on my own cars, enjoy tools, enjoy my wife (we do have three kids after all), go to the bar with the boys, etc. and guess what. Right smack in the middle of my bed, is that purpleish pink elephant that my mom and adoptive dad went and bought me when my biological dad said no. Still have it and sleep with it 22 years later.
Crew9t haha that’s awesome
Crew9t Reminds me of the Winnie the Pooh blanket I’ve had since pre school and still sleep with it today in my HS years.
I still sleep with my special blanket
Wow
Crew9t i love this story!😀
"but look at that one!" while pointing at her own daughter XD
Saga Hallkvist I died lmao
Saga Hallkvist I died laughing.
7:44 That little boy was so pure 🤗🤗
tbh its a good thing this is filmed in NJ. if you were in CA and a mom reacted like that instead of being petty, rude, and copping and attitude- everyone would immediately know theyre on a tv show
