I'm not to surprised as there are only 10s of modern tvr's in the western hemisphere and the complicated importing paperwork is already done on the car. Not to mention its front page magazine appearance and some history. A dream car of mine and a few others

I checked the MOT history of the TVR, surprisingly it had one back in September 2021. For those that don't know, that's the UK's annual test for cars over three years old.
Check out Adamc he saw it at a show. I think it was a tuner event as max power cars Es there. It was mentioned that it was sold and going to America.

i lived less than 30 minutes from hoovie for 5 years. say what you want, but on camera he just portrays a character. i’ve seen him work on all kinds of outlandish cars where most mechanics would just sit and ponder. he’s a great guy who’s super intelligent

Yeah, they should give them a day to prepare their cars for something like Top Gear usually did. Gave the guy with the most broken car a way to try and fix it up.
It was after fiming, then as soon as it was ish running okay it was sold.
I think it's due for a tune-up. Just your basic spark plugs, ignition timing computer, fuel injectors, throttle position sensor, coils, throttle body polish, etc
Three perfect examples of anything doesn't make good television, there's a reason they always have issues! The drama is part if the fun lol without it, it'd be three rich guys in perfect cars doing normal car stuff. Gotta make it relatable.
I had an E30, one of the greatest cars ever, love that body style, and the straight 6 is amazing.

The durability jokes about German cars are mostly due to the fact that most American mechanics are far less well trained than German mechanics. In Germany, every mechanic has to go through three years of training before he is allowed to repair cars. And so a poorly trained mechanic meets complex technology and unknowingly breaks something and blames it on the poor technology. Even the car wizard from the show makes several technical mistakes while being filmed, but he is already one of the better American mechanics. It is, however, a good show.

No joke, I am as excited for new episodes of Car Trek as I was back when The Grand Tour did episodes more than once every few years.
Aww, I was expecting Tyler to do Van Damme since he still owns his Bentley. And it's great they show off how our wonderful Florida police use "safety checks" to pull over out of state drivers - the state of Florida doesn't require safety inspections before getting tagged.

The tvr in swordfish is one generation newer than the cerbera, the Tuscan s in that green color shift paint. Those cars are equally bonkers. Doug demuro did a review of one. Dream car of mine to import!! A British viper but even more insane

My focus ST ate a bird as well, found the skeleton when I was changing the oil once a couple years ago😬 Saw it fly low across the bows, as it were, never saw it emerge on the other side, just assumed it must have made it. ...until a couple months later 😬
I like the fact that the car touted as having the most unreliable engine ends up being solid....... ish....
Tvr is low production hand made engines, absolutely not going to be reliable, rx7 has an experimental Dorito engine that's famous for failing and needing to be fully replaced every 100k or so miles. BMW is mass produced family sports cars, the v8 often dies every 150k or so miles, which is generally pretty bad for a modern vehicle, but it's not THAT bad compared to the other 2.
@@DomzyDX fully replaced? It's usually the seals or a couple bearings breaking, you don't need an entirely new engine for that unless you're rocking stock apex seals and they screw up the engine on the way out (Also taking the engine out and replacing the seals takes like 1k at best which isn't bad considering you only gotta do it like once every 5 years)

Used the ticket clinic this year and it did cost a lot due to it being in a non target area, but I did get the ticket reduced to a non moving violation

My first thought when Hoovies E30 didn't have power was that he forgot to plug a wire to the battery since he took the battery connector off wire by wire. I do disagree with the reliability because all the BMWs I've owned have taken a beating and ran forever. My current e39 is running on 235k and its still kicking.

A multi meter is handy as it show continuity but on rare occasions you can have a fuse showing continuity but not having the right resistance so the circuit does not work properly. Sometimes you need to to a resistance check too. We have had it happen on a VW Polo and a Holden Astra.

I've driven the e30 cross-country multiple times through mountains and inclement weather -it's just as reliable as any Toyota from the same era if not more.
As an E30 owner, so long as they are maintained they are, but they’re temperamental the second one part is out of spec
