  • Hey Dusty, I wanted to take a moment to extend my gratitude for the incredible day of 1:1 instruction you generously provided. Your dedication to helping me consolidate my fundamentals was beyond brilliant, and I can't thank you enough for your patience and expertise. Not only did I learn a bike load from you, but I also had an absolute blast! Your sense of humour and teaching style made the experience unforgettable, most amusing and educational. I couldn't have asked for a better mentor to guide me through refining my skills. And let's not forget about that priceless moment when I made you "dab"-even if it didn't make the final cut, it's a memory I'll cherish! Until our paths cross again, I'll be hitting the sand with newfound confidence, thanks to you. "Rubber down," dab when you have to, and looking forward to the next adventure! With deepest appreciation, cheers and gears Lisa 🤙 youtube.com/@fourwheelednomad 🙏

  • Invaluable techniques and love Lisa's enthusiasm for challenging her fears. I rode a pebble-covered beach in Wellington, NZ today that's like being stuck in a ball pit, every rock rolls over the next rock and so on, which makes it practically impossible to move from a standstill regardless of your tire grip. Even 4x4's are practically useless without the benefit of momentum on this kind of terrain, but it's a huge amount of fun once you get the hang of it and loosen up.

    • An expert rider can ride just about any tire anywhere. But notice, they almost always choose to have an aggressive tire off road and especially with a lot of sand. Like the Motoz RallZ or Motoz Adventures. These work fantastic all over Baja and Ocotillo. They perform wonderfully on the highways between trails also.

    • this isn't deep sand though, is it? to ride on deep sand you need a light bike, 250cc 2 stroke at least and you need to go fast to get up on top of the sand, when I was a young fellow I had a RM 250 t and that thing got going on the sand, we had been on the sand all day and a guy showed up on a XL500, he tried to ride on the dunes but his bike just bogged down, he cleared out after a short while because he just wasn't plaining. he was just fish tailing with the front wheel. we do fish tails but not with the front wheel :) and not on sand.

  • Id prbably descride that sand as wet sand. Top end Australia cape york. Has an easy bypass to gunshot creek. Well thats what the map says. Its in reality 17km of 6 to 12 inch super dry and soft sand. Pure hell! Great video. But im gunna also say. "That's not deep soft sand". "This is deep soft sand" in my best Mick Dundee impersonation. Sounds like the BAHA boys are thinking the same.
