  • Thanks for the vid! Tip on using the razor: just extend the first segment of the blade. They are designed to break off easily when they get dull. If you keep it fully extended, a large portion of the blade might break off when you don’t expect it to. Cheers!

  • Anyone should be able to do a standard cube in about 3 minutes, there are lots of good videos that show each stage. Just need to be patient and make sure you have cracked each stage before starting the next. Once you’ve cracked it, do it daily and then you won’t forget.

    • It would do it faster if it did not reverse scramble because all scrambles can be solved in twenty moves or less and a scramble can be a higher amount of moves. Still a good idea though

    • It can’t do a reverse scramble pattern, because the machine can’t even rotate the top part. They had to design custom algorithms for this machine and also had to prove it was always solvable despite not rotating the top part.

  • I think its able to solve it that fast because since it’s connected to the app it records all your moves and when you put it into the solving robot machine it reverses them to solve it

    • In theory this makes sense, but there is nothing on the robot turning the top face, whereas when he scrambles it you can see him turning every face. Without the ability to rotate the cube on all six axes the robot therefore HAS to be solving in a different manner than the way the scramble was inputted. If you are familiar with Cube Notation, the robot would never be able to undo a U or U' because there is no movable arm on that axes, therefore it could never reverse a U with a U' or a U' with a U and thus never be able to mirror the inputs backwards.

    • Yes, my best friend in boarding school and I would play cube games and have competitions. I got 59 secs multiple times but I can't really go under that because my method is not more efficient.

  • I remember first seeing a Rubiks cube on Noel Edmonds Multi-Coloured Swap Shop in 1980. Got one straight away and have worked on it every day since. Nearly got 2 layers solved now.......going well.
