Meet the 9-year-old speedcubing prodigy Yiheng Wang (China) who has broken the record for the fastest average time to solve a 3x3x3 rotating puzzle cube, doing so in just 4.69 seconds.
Young Yiheng has dethroned cubing veterans Max Park (USA) and Tymon Kolasiński (Poland), who jointly held the record with a time of 4.86 seconds.

We all thought the battle for the greatest 3x3 cuber was between Tymon and Max until some 9 year old kid just smashed the record. Edit: Yiheng did it again, he's insane
fr
yeah i had never even heard of him before this. i was expecting either max or tymon to be the next person to break it.
By alot *
@@hepta5040 Well I thought so too until his records got smashed
search up the record 3.47 by Yusheng Du
Dude has the most serious look on his face solving all of that. I see only progress for him here.
My thoughts exactly. They is look of a master.
Bro is literally 9 and breaking world records whereas here I am still not knowing how to cook 😭
Same bruh😭
😄😄😄
idk how to cook either lol
He probably doesnt know how to cook either

I competed in this competition and I will never forget that I witnessed this world record in person. It was really amazing for me!
Cool
same here!
@@im_lyzole omg it's you lmao anyways, once again congrats on clock nr
@@cuyoch thank you!
I didn't compete in YJ, but I witnessed it too XD I was accompanying my friend there.
I started cubing when I was 8. Im 15 now and my PB is 12 seconds and it has been for a few years. This kid is 9 and cubing for who knows how long and breaking the WR. absolutely insane. This kid is a prodigy and is going places.
I'm 12 and I started 8 months ago and my PB is 15
comment written just to brag
@@doyenpharmacy4909 don't lie.... With 8 months u can't achieve sub 15...atleast it need 2 years
@@doyenpharmacy4909same
@@doyenpharmacy4909im 11 i started cubing last year but took a 9month break
I'm almost 54 years old. Got my first cube when I was 10 and I could barely solve 3 sides at the most. Of course, now I know that's not the way to do it. I just recently got back into it for some reason. I watched a lot videos and studied algorithms for about 2 weeks. I can solve it easily now but not NEARLY as fast as this kid. But for me, it was an accomplishment.
Guinness World Records! you have done an excellent job explaining what happens during competitions and how he beat the record! You thoroughly explained everything that happened and I'm still so shocked a 9 year old just got the wr for 3x3x3 average taking the record of Tymon Kolasinski!!!
thanks!
Great editing. Speedcubing is no easy task, these young competitors really inspire me to do my best in my life.
Such a quick and gentle correction at such a young age is really admirable🙌
considering the low amount of competitions yiheng has done, he didnt just get lucky. he could do this again for sure.
Truee
Well he did broke it twice this year. Last time it didn't count because it was a misscramble, and all it would have impacted was a D turn instead of a D' turn.
@@DDHDTV It was a D move that affected the last U move
You actually predicted it
@@averagejtard2 ope
he looks so calm and polite.
The way Yiheng was reacting, clearly shows that he knew that, he can create history 💪🔥
I predict he will get an official sub 3 second single in the next 2.5 years, if he continues cubing and entering comps.
same
For sure.
Beautiful; this generation of speedcubers are incredible! I still remember when the world record was 10 seconds
He has finally done it this time! I do think that Tymon Kolasinski will return with far more efficient solutions to retake it in the next year, over the next few years we will find the balance between extremely fast turning and extremely efficient solutions.
Same here ☺️
Same here
I don’t see Tymon beating a 4.48 anytime soon tbh
First time: 4:354 Second time: 3:906 (fastest) Third time: 4.416 Fourth time: 5:312 Fifth time: 6:164 (slowest) Average time: 4:69
Thousandths of seconds doesn't matter in WCA competitions (5.680 = 5.689 = 5.68)
Could it matter in the future? Just askin😊
@@mikebozik probably not, it's been like this for years and the world record was even tied at one point
this kid has only been cubing for a few years, original world record holder, Max Park, has been cubing since he was his age. now he is in his 20s.
Street cuber: I'm fast! I'm smart! No one can beat me with my 50-seconds solves! Yiheng: Hold my Gan, my age and my citizenship
He has showed the mature and calm at this age is unbelievable.
I’m the world’s slowest cuber. All these years and I’m still trying to figure it out
Mate, I couldn’t solve it even if the whole cube was the same bloody colour!
Lol 🤣🤣🤣 me to we the special Ed cube class..😂😂
Everyone who solves it like this uses a tutorial and I also did the same. You may think you could keep trying forever and never get it but I assure you that if you actually try with a tutorial you could 100% do it with just a bit of time, maybe it will take over a day or a few days but that’s ok because the first time can be difficult to figure out since it’s new. With just a few months of practice I became sub 40 and you’re not the slowest because there are lots of people who have not done it but you’ll find it’s easy after a few solves with a tutorial and possibly some notes to help.
The Mozart of 3x3x3 speedcubing. When Mozart was 9 years old he was not only a talented violinist and pianist, but he was able to write beautiful music with a very mature take on melody and composition. Yiheng Wang's solutions are a symphony.. Fast!!! And very clever and symphonic. Being so young he have plenty of time to develop "color neutrality" (if you/the reader are not a cuber you can look it up). Maybe invest a couple of years with less stability in his average times, and then take a quantum jump and become literally unbeatable in the sport of 3x3x3 speedcubing for a very long time.
Im convinced that speedcubers are evolved species of humans
i CANNOT wait to see how far he can go with this
I have the record of the SLOWEST…The competition started last month and I’m still trying to solve it !!
🎉😂😂😂
funny?
Time limits: am I a joke to you?
Meanwhile me doesn’t know how to play the cube 😂
The best is how he was shocked himself for 3,9 sec. Great! Congratulations!
NO DOUBT I CAN FEEL THE LEGEND AURA FROM HIM MY FAVOURITE , HOPE HE STILL CONTINUES LIKE THIS
If this guy continues cubing i cant imagine how insane he will become. He broke a wr at age 9!
the fact that every single rubiks cube i try to solve stays unsolved for the rest of eternity
When I was 9 years old, i was so happy that i was able to solve all the colours of a 3×3 cube (Separately), meanwhile this guy is solving the entire cube in record tmg!
Finally a new cubing related one
Honestly this kids just phenomenal 👍👏👏👏
So crazy how these kids are taking over speedcubing. Can't wait to see what happens in the coming years 😮
Hi tuff
More than a worthy competitor for the machine that Max Park is ! I'm stunned how you even get to 4, 5 sec yet those Max's 3,13 is just insane I believe this young little ninja is capable of beating that record eventually , 9 year's old 🤔 I'm happy i solved it twice in under 20 and average around 35-40 seconds if i do this 5 solves 😂😂 Yiheng is gonna be huge 👾
I am Chinese but I have grown up in the UK and I am a cuber (nowhere Yiheng's level though) and I'm really exited to see how he progresses
U R a double colonizer.
this was genuenly amazing.
This kid is just incredible
Le Max, Tymon and other GOATS - finally we can rest. Found the one to continue the legacy
Dude has impressed his parents 🎉
He has some super skills
espectacular el chaval se merece un aplauso grande increible su habilidad
100% he will put a new wr single soon
Yeah. He’s like top 3 best cuber’s I’ve seen
I started cubing in 1985 ., i'm still working on my first attempt . i'll be finished any day now .
yiheng semi final is in my country, Malaysia
Congrats to this kid i mean we cant call him kid he is above all of us in cubing like beating world records in such an age seems impossible to me but he proved the world wrong with his unique talent in cubing. 👏 👏 👏 👏
My biggest concern is how anxious and stressed he looks. Sure he's young but he shouldn't be that stressed.
9 yrs old kid Yiheng can solve this cubs so fast, WOW
Smoothly done ! Xoxo
i predict this guy will someday get sub 3 solves soon
yoooo yihengs getting international attention
I like his facial expressions that never move Even breaking the record ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have been cubing for more years than this kid has been alive yet he's faster than me
when this guy will have 30 years he’s going to solve the cube in 1 second
I'm very proud I wonder when he started cubing
when i saw that pop up om wca live i freaked out
Impressive. I think there also should be a variant of the record where cube study time is included (i.e. where time starts running the moment the cube is visible). After all, you're doing that part of the solving process in your head. Or does this variant exist already?
Not really, everyone is given enough reasonable time to study the cube, and that rule doesn’t account how fast people learn since there’s no theoretical way to calculate it. Even if you were given 2 days, there’s no way you would be faster than him lol
blindfolded does that but with the twist of not seeing the cube while solving it. the best in the world can do around 16 seconds
THIS KID IS SO SMART, HE BROUGHT HAND WARMERS
I think, judge is the luckiest person who has been there for watching these solve in front of his eyes 👀
Bro is 9 making history and I can’t even pay my taxes
The only speedcuber to ever take a world record title from two people at once.
His turning is scary
I will never forgot that a 3 year old and nine year old crush my self esteem 🤌
4.69 seconds is the number all cubers want to average
lol
Amazing
Is there any slow motion buttons on you tube???
he: solve 3x3x3 in 4 sec me: solve 1 face in 20 sec
WHAT BRO INSANE!!!!
Really he is such a best speedcuber in the world just 9 years his iq level is so much higher than other cubers
I had no idea hands could move that fast.
pressure got to him in the end
that 3.9 run was unfrikkin real
Kid finishes it in 4 seconds, meanwhile I’m here not even able to solve one in 2 days.
This is crazy
The vibe I get from this kid is that he is locked in a room and forced to cube for 12 hours a day by his parents
You are quite right
Pretty much accurate from what I know sadly
????12 hours? Lock in the room? So he didn't go to school???pls man!!!i have never known this before you told me even i am his mom.
@@yihengwang2125 If you’re his Mom, let your kid have a normal life and childhood instead of forcing him to cube all day. He will grow up to be extremely unsociable otherwise.
Even if that's true, I wish my parents did that to me, the rewards are worth it.
He had already did it before with 4.75 seconds average but just one misscramble cost him the world record
Amazing 😍
Wow that so cool I hope I could solve one😊
2016: dude I'm going to a competition and there will be Felix zemdegs and max park how am I going to win? if there was kids then maybe i could win. 2023: dude I'm going to a competition and there will be kids that average sub 7 like how am I going to win against this kids?
it's certainly a monster, I just hope that these practices don't harm your health over time (a bit like video games)
That's gotta be the quietest reaction to an official 5 ever :p
0:20 0:40 1:10 1:35 1:55
He’s probably going to solve it in one second in five years
I need at least 1 week to solve this game
yes he is. change my mind
Crazy, wow!!!!
Amazing. 👏
He is definitely the GOAT
i think youtube should make even slower playing speed for this video
Amazing❤❤❤
I tried to solve 1 side. I woke up 20min later not knowing what happened.
Amazing boy
close to 10 mil....
yes
I'm a sub10 speedcuber, and by experience, maybe he would be one of the most, Because he's young, he will train about during ten years..
he just did it again.
If you changed the seconds to minutes, I would be in there competing with them too! I can aaverage around 4 minutes 😊
He scan first and do it 😮😮🥰🥰
Plot Twist: There is no plot twist, please try again later...
It's very impressive
0:31 4 SECONDS WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWO
