@MaxFast23 and @tymon_kolasinski have the friendliest sporting rivalry in the world.
Between them, over the last year they've knocked 0.7 seconds off the record for the average time to solve a 3x3x3 rotating puzzle cube.
And at the 2022 Kewbz event in Coventry, the two friends went head to head in their latest speedcubing battle.

This was an AWESOME video !! great editing too
Hi bro surprised your here
Hi nick
Hi nick
cooking up some heat nick
didnt expect to see you here nick
I really love the fact that instead if “These guys can solve a Rubik’s cube in 5 seconds” It really shows a lot about their backstory, appealing to the cubing community, and the non-cubing community. Gives me “The speedcubers” documentary vibes
That's why the cubing community is one of the best!
What?
@@The_MAD_Qyuber"Why We Cube" too
Yeah
hello iron
this dude... Max's dad is so informed of the ins and outs of cubing. He knows speed vs. efficiency, tps, etc. I am amazed by this.
dad of the year energy coming from this man
Max's dad (and mom) are both super nice. They help out at competitions and are just generally very friendly.
Ik right
I get pr single whenever I am judged by max's mom@@CoachTabe
It's awesome to see how the two WR holders are so nice to each other. No toxicity at all, and it's great to see
Yeah. I love that they are all friends. Its like theyre all pushing each other to do better, not necessarily just competing against one another.
this is how it is in the cubing community
@@obi5322 yes exactly
I always find it strange how people think this is extraordinary, just seems so normal at this point
It's normal in cubing community. Best community I've ever been to.
Max's dad really cares about him and it shows, Max can communicate how he's feeling really well, he just gets better at it every time I see him. Not only is he becoming great at cubing, he's also becoming great at socialising and relaxing his body, spirit and mind.
Same
So happy to see these guys get the recognition they deserve, congrats Tymon and Max :)
I mean gwr kinda copied cubicle lol
@@R4cubing i guess, but they still deserved a record for it other then just a wca one, it would be cool to display a gwr, not the same for a wca certificate
@@madadog that’s fair I guess
Im tearing up seeing max’s dad speak so passionately about cubing on behalf of his son. Ive been using beginner method for over 10 years and have bad habits that keep me “slow” (30-40) seconds with beginner. Ive finally been trying to learn speed cube methods to improve and it’s really difficult considering i have slow habits, but learning new algorithms is still very fun even if im technically slower with the speed methods. What a cool community and its all based around an old puzzle and people working on self improvement.
Witnessing this in front of my eyes was incredible. Glad I made it to the UK Champs this year!
Same, I was there too. I even got a photo with them both
Neat
Wow the friendship between Max and Tymon is so wholesome! Even though they’re competing against each other the level of respect is astonishing and that they look up to each other. Just so heart warming!
The whole community is like this and it's awesome.
It's so exciting to see the battles between these two friends, who push each other to become even better.
hi nic
@@imcasey :) Hi Casey. You see everything 👀
absolute legends of our time, Tymon and Max's respect towards each other is so heart warming and it makes me happy to see not only these two getting the recognition they deserve, but also the entire community as a whole
It’s amazing that Max Park initially cubed to improve his dexterity and now has 10x the dexterity that I ever had 👍
I just picked up a 3x3 yesterday and I never would have guessed I'd feel this tense watching a head to head between world champions.
Great to hear that. I hope you’ll enjoy solving it and stick with it. 🔥 It may seem difficult to solve it at first but you’ll get the hang of it really fast if you watch a tutorial on YT. The rest comes with practice

Max's dad is a legend
Honestly bless him.
Legend's mom is a max
For Max to start this for hand dexterity and then become so proficient is an amazing feat itself. Then to forge a friendship with his competitor is a win all the way around. Amazing story!!
Watching Max and Tymon solve is just unbelievable. I can’t imagine how fast the future records they set will be!
are you the guy from souptimmy?
@@mworkszn7218 Yes he is
@@mworkszn7218 ya he is
Im Glad that Tymon and Max are getting the recognition they deserve. GGs!!
Finally Guinness actually gets the world record cubers correct.
anybody remember that asian guy called Yusheng Du ?
@@greaney9310 yes the guy who got 3.47 seconds solve
@@greaney9310 everybody remembers him But being lucky isn't a crime
@@harshudhani2432 he wasn’t lucky it was all skill
@@gan11m70 but that scramble was pretty lucky And he doesn't get times like that very often... So I would consider him skilled with sprinkles of luck
So glad to see these two get some more recognition. I met Max once and he was a really cool dude. They both deserve this.
As a sub 17 second 3 by 3 speedcuber, this had me on the tip of my chair watching the results. Max and Tymon are a huge inspiration to me, and millions more!
Most impressive is the speedcubing community acting with so much friendship and respect, even they are competitors. Speedcubing would not be like it is without Feliks, but awesome how it develops with genius guys like Max, Tymon ... Thanks for all excitement and inspiration. 👍👍👍
it's nice, but it's also kind of sad that being kind is impressive
I miss mats valk
I want an explain-like-I'm-five from these guys on how they visualize solving their cubes. I know there's straight-forward algorithms to take you from one move to the next (which they would probably laugh at the simplicity), but these guys combine all that into minimal yet incredibly complex moves. Amazes me
So the thing is, for the majority of these guys solves (about 3-4 seconds of a solve on average), what they're doing is actually less algorithmic and more intuitive, which makes it possible to encorporate more creative and complex solutions to drop the number of turns you need to do to solve the cube. Algorithms are usually only used in the last step of the solve, solving the top layer, but the rest requires much more creativity and intuition skill, at least for people that can solve the cubr in less than about 12 seconds.
It is like you put Ronaldo and Messi in one room... One of a kind experience.. Two legends in one room.. ❤️ The energy is intense! Fabulous work Tymon and Max...
This is absolutely amazing! Watching these 2 is something I can do all day and never get bored.
Thank you, GWR, I love the speedcubing ❤️😍
So incredibly happy to be able to witness the journey of these two
I love how they became friends with each other
As a cuber (hasn't go to a comp yet), it's very excited to see the speedcubing video in here. Both of them have the chance to get the world champion title in next year! (World Championship 2023 in Seoul, Korea, waiting for 4 years) (Also I think Ruihang Xu has the chance, he got the 4.65 avg with a 3.97 single in an unofficial comp 2 months ago)
4.93 average
3.93 singles
Don't forget yifeng wong
Bruh I made huge mistake haha.
@@cubest817 Cool
the connection they have is just amazing. so happy for both of them
Ngl this video really made me happy. Gave me goosebumps too. I wish the video was longer. Great video. Didn't just show 5 seconds solves also gave focus on their backstory and their race too
Thanks for letting Tymon & Max Dad tell this story with their knowledge of the cubing world & Terminology :) This story wsa more personnal and really accurate. Congrats on boths of them and to all the cubing community which allow to push the limits of this hobby even further. Have an awesome Day. Dan
Brilliant stuff. I can't solve a cube in a day, so watching these guys do it in 3 seconds is beyond belief! Heartwarming to see the mutual respect and friendship between Symon and Max. I never realised until today that I needed to watch a video about competitive Rubik Cubing!
I remember when we got first cube in university dorm back around 1982, it took 3 months of collective effort to solve it :)
the secret to improving is to find the right cube for you, a fine tuned cube makes a world of difference
no, if u dont know how to solve a cube thats bad advice.@@kevinmorrice
Max and Tymon are 2 Legends ❤
It's really great to see that in addition to the competition, these cubers have built camaraderie and community among themselves. It's more than just a contest for them, and it's refreshing to see.
Amazing speedcubers, I'm fan of both! Thanks for sharing this!
Incredible, just incredible!
Hey @hesacuber ! I'm trying to learn look ahead and Advanced F2L. It's really hard. Could you please give me some tips? I have some videos that I post on my channel that explain my process

@@slendercube7817 what? Is that a video idea? Or are you talking about me
Nice job! Excited to see another cubing related video. Max and Tyson are both fast.
Max clapping for Tymons first solve, what a great guy 👍🏼
New challenge to both of them. Congrats Max and Tymon.
I love how cubing is getting more viewer friendly 😊
This was amazing. So fun to watch!
I'm glad gwr is finally adding these as world records.
This is why I love the cubing community. Everyone is supportive of eachother and it’s awesome seeing how much all these competitors improve in so little time.
This gave me The Speedcubers vibes, and I absolutely loved it
Its great to see the friendly rivalry at the end. Love this kind of friendship
I bought my first cube the other day. Took me a day to learn. The next day my best time was 2.5 minutes. I'm proud of that for being into it for 2 days. Seeing these guys smash it out in a few seconds is insane. I am curious to know what the record will be in 10 years from now.
Well said!
Give it a month and you'll be pushing 20-30 seconds every solve.
@@abdo19code i would say 30-50 but yeah, he's gonna improve a lot in 1 month xD
learn CFOP!!
My pb went from 2 minute 42 seconds to 4.71 seconds in a month, the real secret isn't just practise, its finding the right cube for you, mine is a gan 11m pro with game lube 1
So fun to see that speedcubing is growing around people
Just amazing! All the work to get to this point and all the skill.
They should have shown their solutions. Tymon and Max is incredibly efficient and have crazy solutions
It was Felix and Max before, now its Tymon and Max. 👏
Awesome vid, felt the tension and the relief in the competition!
Tymon and Max this so very legends. That so cool video!
Those two are legends and will bring cubing to the next level
The cubing community is so wholesome. I watch these guys push each other for the better w/o rivalry each time.
I remember when Felix was the man in cubing. This is great to see more great guys 😁
I love being able to root for both of them at the same time. Such a great community.
with messi and ronaldo its a whole different story
This video was amazing. Great to see these two masters at work and to see they are friends is even better. I got second hand nervous just watching that final battle.
Beautiful story, both of them! I'm just in awe at how fast they are.
I just started cubing 3 months or so ago, learned the basic way to solve the cube and I'm now ready to try to move onto more advanced algos to crank down my time. So far my best is 1m55s and it still blows my mind to this day that I can solve one of these things in under a day.. It's so satisfying to do once you know how. Everyone should get a decent speed cube, the tactile feel alone is worth it :)
This is the best part about the cubing community. There's absolutely no toxicity or unhealthy competition at all. It's just so healthy and friendly. And everyone's genuinely happy for each other.
This is an amazing journey for these guys, congratulations!
Well made speedcubing video. As a "speed"cuber myself, I approve.
If you look in a dictionary, the definition of “determination”, there should just be a photo of Tymon and Max, with no extra text.
Got my first cube when I was 10 years old. Now, I'm almost 54. Decades later, I found an old cube while cleaning and decided to give it another go. I watched a lot of videos, learned notation and some algorithms. I'm nearing the one minute mark on my solves. I'll never hold a world record but it's very satisfying just to be able to solve it, mostly without even thinking at this point.
For me this was about the connection these two boys have, they can share in a world where only few folk have an interest, plus they are extremely humble... I'm so happy for the two
Lessgooo Tymon and Max ❤️❤️
Congrats to Tymon and Max!
Always great to see cubing content on here
imagine if max beat tymon by 0.01 during this race again lol
It always happens, it will happen again ana again and again forever
Really heartwarming story of 2 awesome cubers and their friendship, respect and rivalry. I got a cube for the first time a week ago and I'm hooked! I'm 37 years old! Never too late to become a cuber 😅
As a cubing lover , this video gave me happiness and speedcubing vibes
Tymon, you're too quick! I mean, you're the fastest speedcuber!
Actually fastest is Max probably. Tymon is more efficient. Anyway they are cubing beats anyone would like to loose against
I completely forgot this was a GWR video, it's so well made and presents cubing so well
Well done to both of you!
both are ridiculously fast!
Go Max!!!! 😁👊 So awesome, major fan.
Great video. Cool to hear from Max’s dad since he is a such a great voice for Max
tymon still turns at like 10 turns per second, even though he says he turns "slow"
slower than max, but faster than like 95% of other cubers
he meant that he turns slow compared to Max
both insanely talented and humble, truly goated
So many respect to both of them
The way these guys finesse those 3x3x3 rotating puzzle cubes... inspiring
I really loved this Guinness story behind the record. 👏 👏
Great video It was so intense!
I love that I'm in this video at 4:55 lmao
U are the Cameo between Max and Tymon bro

As a cuber i saw this video and got really excited
Thanks you for showing to ppl speed cubing
Another beautiful GWR video of cubing

i cant never understand how people can do this so fast.. Amazing!
6.10 and 6.01 whoaaa...not even 1 sec difference and they win...crazy crazy competition levels...bravo!!!
This is incredibly interesting and humbling to watch! Very cool.
This video reminds me a lot about Netflix documentary about Felix and Max friendship 💕
i love how, when asked if he thinks he is going to beat max, Tymon just laughs.
First time ever seeing this but I just wanted to point out something SUPER special that a lot of kids, hell most kids I knew if not all dont have a father like Max does.. that guy leaked intelligence, grace, kindness and so much more.. he could have did what so many do and just told Max to go watch more TV instead of finding something to work on to help with his issues and then allow him to take it to this level its just amazing to see.. What a lucky kid to have that guy as a father and now what a lucky dad to have Max traveling the world doing this. Great people still exist dont listen to liberal mainstream media!
I know, the amount of support that Max's parents have given him is amazing!
max solving the cube then go on to solve he's own cube, is just incredible
max park is something else. i saw the netflix show on him and have been a fan since
