Dear friends and followers, welcome back to my channel!
Today we’ll be looking at an aviation commercial, that had good intentions but the turned out as a funny, cringeworthy advert, starring John Cena. I'll be highlighting all the little mistakes that were made throughout this 30 second advert!
Have some fun with this one!
Thank you very much for your time! I hope you enjoy this video!
Wishing you all the best!
Your "Captain" Joe

I love how it was a business jet at first, the size of a citation but magically grew into what appears to be a 737 when he exits the aircraft. They grow up so fast
100% correct
I like how he was able to just walk into the cockpit and was able to just open the fuselage door
@@johnnyboy3949 or survive the jet blast you will be exposed to.
It's Cessna's newest model, the Tardis! 🤣
you got it! As a good business man he always fits his gadgets to the company size.... His business was growing ... so also this plane!!!!!!
Producer: makes an Advertisement Cpt Joe: I'm gonna end this man's whole career 😂😂
Not my intention 😉
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I mean well as a not as educated 14yr old i know its fake and I probably would even if i was 7 or something
what else do you expect, when 99% of budget was on hiring John Cena? Production must suffer
@@flywithcaptainjoe Never was
Mistake #0: Not realising Captain Joe would watch the commercial.
It contains Kelsey's favorite hollywoodism: papers flying everywhere when the plane depressurizes!
right there with you.
Yes, the whole time I was wondering if Joe's planning on starting the same Hollywood vs. Reality series that Kelsey runs!
You can kind of dismiss some of that as cabin air turbulence caused by the contours of the interior, cubbie holes, seats, and other places air pockets will form. But yes, you should see most of the debris flying out of the door.
@@TonyP9279 the point of that is where did all the loose paper come from?
It doesn't matter what plane it is, there must be a ream of loose leaf somewhere in there.
It started as a teenage plane, grew into a modern one and finally ended up in a grandfather .
😄
The most obvious mistake for me was that he descended directly vertically compared to the airplane. Air resistance would slow him down quite quickly, whilethe jet is continuing to fly forward.
Yep it was hard to watch
Hello Captain Joe, skydiver here with mistake #36: When John deploys his parachute, he reaches down with his right hand to pull his pilot chute (which pulls out the rest of the the canopy), this is correct, but he doesn't appear to bring his left arm in front of him, failing to do this at terminal velocity, would flip him over quite violently :-)
John Xina !!! -1,000,000 social credit score!
Also his leg straps seems to be loose - which is a megahurt when he opens. Been there.
What course did u do at university ?
Not at all a skydiver here but how about the impossibly slow and gentle landing on the roof into a standing position?
So I got: -Different plane 2 different times. -John opens the cockpit door when normally it's locked. -The pilots are wearing cheap computer headsets. -John opening the door when it is physically impossible. -Not strong enough of wind going through cabin when the door is open. -Jumping out when the emergency exit is over the wing. -John not using oxygen.
"Shut the front door " My fav line 😂😂😂😂
Aviation police is my favorite kinda policing!! I was laughing all the way. Thanks, Capt.
My pleasure buddy!
Mistakes I found: 1- That plane won't last 14+ hours on air. It needs refueling. 2- You can't simply change the flight plan out of a whim. 3- At cruise altitude, the fusalage would expand a bit and that door would be physicaly impossible for a human being to open. 4- Even if he managed to open the door somehow, that would cause an explosive decompression and he would be instantly sucked out of the aircraft. 5- There are no parachutes on aircrafts for people to grab them. They have to be put there intentionally befor the flight. 6- Even if he had some comunicator device, that wouldn't work with that distance from the plane. 7- Even if the comunicator worked, they wouldn't be able to hear each other because of all the air flowing into the mic. 8- You can't see Jonh Cena. Sorry. The last one was wrong. Correction: yes you can see him because now he is John China. And Taiwan IS a country.
you mean zhong xina?
@@nguyenhoangan-matt Yes. That one.
8. You can't see Zhong Xina 🤣🤣🤣
2: Even if you can't just change flight plans on a whim, you can just cancel IFR and the flight plan (changing to VFR) and then requesting to land at the airport
All I saw was a potato salad...
One more mistake: he isn't affected by the wind, or the plane is stationary in the air When he jumps out, he only drops out and down from the door; he doesn't move aft compared to the plane, which would happen if the plane was still flying
You just said what I was to say.
I saw a mistake at the end which was IF he was jumping out of the front left door he would probably been hit by either the wing, sucked into the engine or been divided into two by the elevator. Thanks for making such a cool video you inspire me so much!
there is something called conservation of energy .
@@ibtivlog7959 There's also something called air drag. Fighters with pusher props (themselves somewhat rare) tended to be fitted with explosive bolts on the propeller, so that bailing out was possible without getting sliced up by it.
@@Kromaatikse Yup, I believe those and the very early jet fighters were the also the reason for the ejection seat beginning development.
When he enters the cockpit at around 00:47 you can clearly see an audio mixing console on the left side, similar to a Depusheng DT8. Hilarious!
You know your gear😉👍🏻
well that is for the in air entertainment. I think they found the old Venga air airplane
same on the other side!
The pilots needed to plug in their XLR mics.
@@redwinedrummer It was probably an A321XLR
What you have just done here has brought back wonderful childhood memories. My dad used to do the exact thing you have done. He used to actually look for the mistakes in commercials and movies and make a point of telling me each and every one, it used to drive me crazy LOL. Thank you for the lovely memories. ☺️
I do this when watching things and my wife absolutely loves it....😬
There's also no kind of indication of loss of cabin pressure apparent in the cockpit. When you'd expect some kind of audible alarm and illuminated "master caution". Also how is the container of orange juice remaining sat on the counter in the, airliner style, galley?
I noticed many interesting things in that first clip, a 14 hour flight on what seems to be a learjet, how easy it is to enter the cockpit, the size of the cockpit windows, the parachute, the door opening in mid-flight, and the tail mounted engines turning into wing mounted engines.
Gotta watch those retractable relocatable engines!
Wow must be some awesome technology if the engines can move from the rear of the fuselage to under the wings in mid flight
Thrust is moving them forward. It's much more difficult to move them back during flight, but they are working on that too. Shutting them down and leaving it to the drag is the obvious answer, you say? Things are never that simple, except in the movies, mate.
@@Trotters79 he was joking bro, In the start of the clip, the engines were in the rear fuselage, and when Zhong Xina jumps out of the plane, the engines were now below the wings.
@@Zylix08 Thanks mate. I know. So was I.
I love learning stuff from you and Kelsey from 74gear. His video explaining why a boeing 747 is really hard to bounce on a landing was one of my favorites.
well the magical transformation from jet to airliner was good. the magical soundproof ability of . . . everything and ignoring of every safety regulation.
Very true! I forgot the sound!!
Never mess with captian joe when it comes to aviation🤣🤣💪
I am a student doing his masters in English. No engineering background . Still I find your videos so riveting and creative, especially the the analogy you use to make complex things simple, that I could not help myself from watching them. You make my day Captain Joe!
Great job, very funny. Cessna has a history of growing the size aircraft in each jet model line, CJ, CJ1, CJ2, CJ3, CJ4. But never that fast or that large. :)
1: The aircraft is bigger on the outside than the inside. 2: The plane is going on an over 14 hour flight which is probably way too long for the plane type. 3: guy didn't get sucked out the plane.
I want to edit this as I was meant to say "it was bigger on the inside than the outside" but then I'll lose the liked from Captain Joe. What a dilemma.
@@mohammedfarismakhdoom9867 It's like the "inside out" bug in Dr. Doolittle---it, too, was bigger on the inside than on its tiny outside.
Let's see: Cena opening the external door is one; they could easily have diverted to Abu Dhabi despite having "flown past"; arguably Cena bursting into the flight deck is another; all the papers flying around; and the communications after Cena jumps out of the plane are the 5 that are most noticeable to me.
Sometimes the "artsy people's" take on the "techy people's" world can be truly hilarious. I know that from watching movies in the 80's that featured "computers". :) Love your content (and your sense of humour). Cheers from Canada!
Also when he jumped, he was moving at the plane’s speed going the same direction of the aircraft.
my list (long long read ahead): breaking into cockpit and the pilots are chill about it talking to pilots like it's nothing cockpits usually aren't that wide can't open the door mid-flight if the door was opened, rapid depressurisation would immediately suck him out and fill the whole cabin with very dense mist the papers wouldn't fly around like that flaps extended in cruise? by the looks of it the craft's a 737 (no landing gear doors on the belly), the cockpit doesn't look like one of a 737 (more airbussy) landing gear lever down and on the left side? oh also 737's don't have doors in the middle of the fuselage (apart from overwing) but he's jumping out of one anyway, and a pilot from the cockpit's watching his run-up
The first few are pretty normal on private jets. Generally on my companies jets someone is always going up to the cockpit and shooting the shit with the pilots. It’s far more casual on a private jet.
Correct me if I’m wrong but the landing gear on a 737 don’t have doors 😂 Idk why they did that but yeah, it’s kinda funny
@@aspiringcaptain I think Mentourpilot did a video explaining why 737s don't have main gear doors. TLDR, 737's are so low to the ground that there isn't enough clearance for doors to open on the ground.
it's because the plane is low and also has limited space in the wheel well.
@@mrgoats oh, didn't know that. thanks for telling me
10:17 I just came back to my apartment after an exhausting day of MET & PoF! Damn he’s good
This was hilarious and intriguing. I would love to see more of these videos on mistakes in fictional media! I was surprised by all I missed at even the third go around. Keep up the great work CJ!
I remember I watched Despicable Me 2 because my younger brother wanted to when I was babysitting him and there was this scene that made me cringe: So apparently Lucy was on this plane heading to Australia, but she realized that she wanted to be with Gru after all, so what does she do? Decide to jump right off the freaking plane. She opened the exit door at ≈40k feet and jumped right out and somehow didn’t activate the exit slides. Also the oxygen masks did drop down but they took a long while and they came out one at a time. And also, how the hell did she get a hang glider past the security and into the overhead bins??
Opens door like it’s a bathroom door. 😂😂😂
It could have been any other door but you chose the bathroom door😂👍🏻
Captain Joe i was thinking how the plane door in that commercial opens against all that force like it was the planes bath room door 😂
The skydiving part was pretty OK, looked like harness was properly attached. Opening and flight under canopy, landing, not too bad. Main gripe is that on exit it’s as if the plane is not moving at all.
I love these types of videos, they're just so satisfying to watch
Nice one Joe. I always enjoy watching your videos. They are very informative.
It thrills me every time I see you upload great content!
Really funny Joe! I always look for continuity errors in films. The o.j. pitcher moved around a lot. When the pilot first turned around, I thought it was a young Alec Baldwin in The Hunt for Red October :0
Great material Joe! I effectively cryed by the laughting. :-))) You are FANTASTIC!!!
Cabin door, usually they open INWARD (unless being an intergral part of an airstair system) the pressurisation system would blow the door clean off but ususally the door cannot be openned at that altitude. The flight plan CAN be altered! This is not a real aircraft but a mockup set. The shot of him jumping out the set is WAY too wide, almost like an A-380 width (at the cabin level). And at that altitude, NO MASK or breathing apparatus upon jumping out? Cabin is W A Y TOO LONG! Windows are OBVIOUSLY fake and gear lever is on WRONG side! There is a feature film comedy that came out int he early 80-s simply called 'Airplane!' It is HILARIOUS. It has so many gags that one really must see twice or more times. One of our YT mates George Kelsey (Gear74) has done a series called Hollywood vs Reality. This is one of the films he has reviewed. (and stop calling me suerly!)! It is a great comedy film. I have a close friend who doesn't like it, but me being into the aviation industry I certainly can appreciate the humour therein.

Hey, if you appreciated _Airplane!,_ then you'll likely enjoy this side-by-side comparison between it and the B-movie it recreated virtually line by line and shot by shot: _Zero Hour!_ 😀 kzhead.info/sun/a5GvYqaAhXSMdqs/bejne.html
Great video, as always. If they had simply used Chuck Norris, all of that would be feasible, even the changing planes. ;)
Love your channel. Hopefully, I'll get my PPL someday! As a skydiver myself, this is my humble contribution: Well spotted: clothing and oxygen (HALO equipment if jumping from 30k?) Well spotted: eq. checks: 3 checks missing Equipment Errors: Helmet mandatory to anyone below D-Lic. (Anyone below 500 jumps USPA or 1000 jumps BPA) Altimeter: ??? you would've spotted it was missing if you had done the 3 checks ;-) Exiting Proc: Relative wind? (already mentioned below) Exiting Proc: Normally position yourself into wind based on your exit technique. Canopy Flight: Chest strap in the neck? Container not adjusted Glide Ratio: ?? won't comment this ahahaha Landing Pattern: ?? I suppose he's doing a demo jump, which he's qualified to do (C-Lic or more?) However, as a skydiver, I appreciate the detail of the collapsed slider!... ;-)
Brought a smile to my face this morning, thanks Cap’n Joe….when can I get your book?!
I want to thank you for how much you have taught me. Thank you so much keep up the great work!
Danke vielmals 'Captain' Joe! Das Video ist ein weiteres kleines Meisterwerk! Liebe Grüsse aus LSZG
Hey Joe. The plane at the starting had the engines at the back and when he jumps the engines are at the wings. And we don't even have that much space in a private jet. And you can't open the door easily like that at Cruising altitude. Edit: I promise I didn't skip to the explanatory part. Please believe me. :(
So cool..just love how you broke it down..so detailed...love your work
Man, what a fun video you did! I really enjoyed it, it was hilarious! Thanks for your videos.
Wow, that must be quite an impressive ETOPS certification for a little Citation! 😂 🤦🏼♀️ Cena is clearly riding in a TARDIS since it’s bigger on the inside. 🤓
Joe you are a god!! This is so professionally and well done. You deserve more Acadmey Awards than John Cena.
In the first cabin scene, the glasses are on the left side of the table or board just like that without a holder or recess on the surface. Who served him the food? There is no cabin crew. When someone rushes into the cockpit like that, the pilots' heads should immediately turn toward him. The display in the cockpit probably shows an airport.
Lovely video! Watching your videos is making me fascinated with aviation more and more every time! Thank you, Capt.Joe!
1 kinda bankes 2 jumbing 3 jumping at the height 4 looks like into an ocean 5 going into the cabin
I just landed home from my instructor rating class and your clip put a smile on my face ! Good work Joe 😂🙏🏻🥲

@@flywithcaptainjoe do you research facts before making videos?
I only caught 6 mistakes, cabin size, door size, opening door under pressure, 737, o2 masks not dropping, papers and pilot not sucked out. I can only imagine how painful it is for you Joe, a professional pilot.. Love to see these types videos.
Haha I got almost none of these, but was a great laugh. Please do more of these, they're super entertaining!
Hello Captain Joe, can you make a video talking about fire aviation? I'm wildland firefighter myself and have a few videos of the planes dropping retardant on fires but I would love to here a pilot's perspective on them too.
Thanks Joe! Please show us more of these mishaps in aviation commercials! 😁👍
Just like to say I’m really enjoying yours and mentor pilots channel’s. Super interesting, I’m a nervous flyer but I can appreciate all these vids with my feet firmly on the ground 😃
excellent video CJ (Capt Joe) love all of your vids.
I did have a less than palatable day. Your clip was well made and made me laugh. Thank you. I have been subscribed to your channel for several years, and have found it informative, captivating and entertaining. Thank you for your quality content.
I did enjoy how you pulled this ad to pieces. 1) opening the door, 2 ) cockpit of citation is smaller. 3) papers instead of efb
Bro your outro is wonderful 😍
Super beobachtet, diese vielen Details. Ich bin von diesem Kanal total begeistert. Wunderbar. Viele Grüße aus Deutschland.
Thanks. My fav ad from long ago. Ad for a family deodorant (eeew, now, but I think it was an aerosol, so not so much back then). Copilot’s (back then it was copilot, not FO) wife runs up to Convair or Martin (departing ramp) shouts to hubby he took the x-brand deodorant, pilot turns to offending cop... “you left your family, DEFENSELESS? (rips off cop...’s wings). YOU’RE GROUNDED!” Mom and Dad refused to buy the product.
Love this video!! Please do more like this! Awesome!
Thank you so much 🙏🏼captain Joe! 🍁🌻🍂
I learnt a lot from this vid, it was fun to watch, thanks Captain Joe!
Just wanted to say a massive thank you Joe we just received your boeing 747/8 model in the post and my daughter was over the moon to find the extra gift of the cargo lax 747 400 in the parcel we have been watching you videos from the beginning and have loved every one of them . my 1st job was working for British Airways as a trainee engineer but i left to join the fire brigade fast forward 20 years and now my daughter is aircraft mad and wants to be a pilot it's your videos that have restarted my passion for aviation and now me a my little buddy are learning from your videos thank you again ✈
This is just hilarious. I may found like 10 to 15 mistakes, because I watched many of your videos, but I had to laugh every time you mentioned one that I didn’t find! Amazing video, for me this is one of your best so far, please keep doing your best as you always do
Awesome video Joe! It was fun and educational!
0:53 Seems the FO also fancied manually flying the plane while cruising... great idea when you have 14 hours left on your schedule!
Love your informative videos captain Joe they are always educational in a fun way which motivates me to learn more
I found another one! I found another one! When the guy jumps out, he would be pushed backwards relative to the airplane, maybe even hitting the wing or engines (depending on which airplane or exit he actually jumps out) and in the following cut he wouldn't be exactly below the airplane but behind it already. Also, he doesn't present his body into the wind meaning he'd probably get unstable and tumble around. Kind regards, ex-skydiver 🙂 Thanks to you and your skydiving-pilot colleagues for hauling us up and dealing with our f.rts!
Please do more I havent smiled like this all week!
Thankyou Capt. Joe for the good analysis. I often find aviation scenes in movies and its often hotch potch and away from an authentic aviation scene. This analysis and future consultation is so much needed. Thankyou for bringing this up.I am so glad there are more persons like you who think on the same lines just as much as I do.
Would love to see the red faces of the ad company officials when called by their customer to explain 😁 Capt Joe is the Zack of Jerry Rig Everything in aviation😂
Awesome analysis, keep up the great work
You just killed me by lough, what a exchange of plane they make from start to the jump sign.
this was awesome can you please make more of these ad videos?
Video is awesome Mr Joe. I laughed during whole video. Made my day happy.
I enjoyed a lot. Thanks and greetings from Milan
How Funny. Nice one Joe. Brilliant observations!
Hey I've just been watching your videos and I have an Ambition to become a Pilot, I'm below 18 and from Asia and I've spotted some mistakes in the First ad, 1) Passengers can't enter the cockpit without permission/prohibited 2)You can Compel the Pilots to redirect the flight course 3)You can't open the airplane door in mid-air cause the pressure outside is too high and it'd be impossible to open the door 4) Passengers are not provided parachutes (From my experience of being a passenger and the flight attendant not showing the parachute procedure) . Thank you for making our days informative in this Pandemic! :))
It is entertaining to watch a commercial with Captain Joe. Thank you.
I LOVED this clip! Thank you Captain Joe!
Sauber zerlegt! Respekt! Ich würde mich freuen wenn du auch so manche Hollywood Flugszenen mit der gleichen Sorgfalt auseinandernehmen könntest.
This is the epitome of taking a commercial apart. I was cracking up thru the whole video, Joe. I thought my 15 spotted errors were most of them, too. Guess not!
WOWWW..... This video was the most humorous .... Specially the part in which a BOEING 737 was shown instead of a Cessna citation jet 🤣🤣. Keep it up Captain. I really like watching your videos....I ve been learning all about aircrafts by watching you videos.
Amazing synopsis Captain Joe xx made me chuckle 30 errors in 30” hahaha
😂 😂 this is a very funny video analysis!! Hollywood will contact you soon to supervise all airplane related scenes
always a good day when Joe uploads
Awesome 🤩 video like always here is a good video idea that I want to know explaining all the air spaces like alpha air space bravo,Charlie something like that the mistakes I found was a 14 hour flight in a golf stream and then when he jumps out it’s a 737 and the cabin is to big for a golf stream and he opened the door at a high altitude! And when he’s about to job you can see a a320 cabin
Awesome and very enjoyable video, specially coming from a pilot. 👑
Spectacular Joe this Clip. 👏
I think the biggest one for me was that it went from a private jet to... Oh hey, it's got a full on galley. And that bottle of orange juice, wow. I want one of those magic bottles for my work truck, because if it won't move when the plane depressurizes, it definitely won't tip, fall over, or spill when I tip the cab over on my work truck to check the engine oil during my morning routine. Yup, seems at least once a month someone in our building will put their coffee in the cab before they've done their daily inspection, and most of the building knows who did it by how loudly that swearing is...
Awesome video, Captain Joe! Few other skydiving things: - his exit position is WAY off. When you exit an aircraft (especially with a relative wind of +500mph), you will be skydiving almost parallel to the ground, not directly at it. This portion of the skydive is called "the hill". It takes around 10-15 seconds before you're skydiving straight down. So the first few moments out the door (assuming perfect stablity and belly into relative wind), he should look very cantered. ALSO, just going off experinece, a really inexperienced jumper will likely be tumbling like a ragdoll even with a good solid arch, especially at that speed and altitude. - upon exiting, he'd be slowing down to terminal velocity (both horizontal and vertical)... the plane would be WELL forward of him even a few seconds out the aircraft. - assuming he's exiting out the front door, there's a HIGH probability at that wind speed he'd strike the leading edge of the wing, or even tumble over the top of it. Exiting out a real skydiving door at +110kts becomes a very serious issue with tail strikes, and those sit higher than a wing. - at his exit altitude, he would require a bailout bottle to remain conscious - he IS wearing a correct rig, however the parachute he's flying (looks like a Sabre 3) looks a bit too small for his weight and (assumed) expeirence level of no jumps. - his landing is pretty cringe, but at least they showed him flaring.
This video was superb !! 🔥🔥
Hi Captain Joe, Take a look at a film 'Flight 192' - an absolute disaster, check out the following times - 16:10, 16:16 parked at gate, requests backtrack while loading pax but unloading cargo containers, after approved to backtrack - whilst still parked P2 states copy - clear take-off runway 17 whilst still parked, control settings and display disagreements, 19:22 aircraft takes off with 2 engines, 19:39 morphs into 474 4 engines, dialogue at 1:04:00. There are many more...
Thanks for the video! :-) I am wondering how log it took to sail over the open ocean to Abu Dhabi according to the plane's position shown on the map.
Awesome!! I loved it 😊
