I think the downside is that it's almost impossible to play the intense high pressing line over an entire thight season like now, hence why they are also conceding a lot of goals in the league when they don't restrict the opponent's through balls by pressing extremely, but when they go all out like in UCL it's scary af
Exactly, it gets risky when the intensity drops. Wouldn’t say that that’s mainly physical though, but rather mental. Stuttgart was the perfect example what happens when they go up a gear.
Really agree with your thoughts, especially since this season Bayern squad is more shallow compare to last season.
Physically it's tough to have a high intensity
Tbh starting from mid January when we lost to Kiel and Gladbach we started playing a bit more deeper than usual. The only downside is that the goals we conceded were ridiculous individual errors and lack of concentration. But before that, when we played higher, we used to concede the same goal every time; get dispossessed, diagonal pass through the middle and create a 1v1 with Neuer. It was always the case. But this time it hasn't been the case.

@@tapiwanashenhanga446 Kimmich plays in 3 positions. Fernandes only now is playing in a big league, his time in Italy was nothing out of this world. At the moment kdb is not a stand out player for city, even if , when in form he probably is the best midfielder in the world alongside Thiago alcantara, who is also going through a rough time in Liverpool. Lastly, Casemiro is amazing but these past two seasons he is not among the best midfielders and you’ll find others that have better stats speaking of defensive midfielders around Europe at the moment(milinkovic savic, ndidi, gueye, kante, camavinga etc etc) . Kimmich is on a high level even before flick started his tenure. He only got better
@@morgancarvalho4408 Ok, but the original comment was somewhere along the lines of " no other midfielder is anywhere near Joshua Kimmich's level", and I only proceeded to mention the players that ARE at his level or perhaps even better. While it's true that he's currently the best player in his position, labelling him the best "midfielder" in the world, and especially "by a long shot" would be diabolically unfair to the likes of Bruno Fernandes ( measuring from January 2020 when he joined United), and the likes of Gundogan, among others. Also, but realistically, considering that Kimmich is a Defensive Midfielder, his defensive stats are inferior to the likes of Ndidi, Kante, Casemiro, and other players known for their defesive abilities. But since he is more of a deeper lying regista like midfielder, his assists are incredible, but still inferior to the absolute best creaters in world football. Like his teammate Muller for example, who has more assists than him. So I suppose the only way I can accept the original comment is if it's re written: Kimmich is the best midfielder in the world..."AT HIS POSITION." And acknowledgement of the fact that although he is World Class, he is not in his own league.
As a Bayern fan, thank you, dude. You are the best. And this video explains their tactics better than the other videos around. I truly hope they win the CL this year again. I think they deserve it and have the punching power to do it!

lets not forget Boatengs pace. He might look slow but he used to be a fullback which explains his great long passes and his ability to run 32km/h as a statistic against I think Lazio said

@@kaihavertzchelsea2594 you create width in the opposition's Half by staying wide and crossing . Well at least that's what most of the traditional fullbacks do and Boateng was one of them. Alaba was a Fullback as well before becoming a centerback and same with with Kimmich before turning into a midfielder, even though he played as a centerback under Guardiola But if you take a look at Sergio Ramos, Pique, Thiago Silva, Chiellini, and so on, you'll notice that their strengths aren't really progressing the ball but more keeping the defence impenetrable and stable, which doesn't mean they can't cross at all. But just look at their statistics and compare them with former fullbacks. At the end it really depends on how you interpret the CB role but having experience as a traditional fullback gives Centerbacks a huge advantage ...but... wasn't that already obvious from the beginning?

He probably lacks the acceleration and sudden speed of burst required, hence gets left behind by fast attackers . But more often than not he'll make up with his fantastic positioning

@Richard Styles Madrid never had an unplayable squad, maybe the Galacticos era but other than that no, especially that 16/17 season was some BS in terms of refereeing decisions

Let's not forget the quality of players they have to support those tactics
what's great about Bayern too is that many of their starters are homegrown players. Boateng, Neuer, Kimmich, Goretzka, Sane, Gnabry, and Muller. Something you rarely see anymore in any top Premier league team. They enforce the homegrown talent, and that helps in their performance in the national team too because most of them would've played alongside each other in club level, so national team manager doesn't have to wait for the players to click or create chemistry. kinda like the Barca & Real for Spain back in the days.

@@HenSt-gz7qj well Real technically only hav like 2-3 homegrown players in their teams usually.......They preffer more on the big money signings to upgrade their squad and use the academy as a means of making money(which has been pretty effective cause they made something like 800 million euros in 7 seasons or something)

I believe that buy signing upamecano, a ball playing composed fast centre back, can take the pressure off other defenders, and with time the conceded goals problem may be more easily dealt with. IMO an amazing strategy by Bayern once again. Boating is aging and past his prime, Alana might leave, and Bayern already secured a top defender from a direct rival before the summer.

The only teams i can see beating Bayern atleast once out of 10 times is ManCity(even though ik they never will) because they do hav good squad depth and can rotate well especially with the five subs rule in place AND also PSG mainly because they have an elite creative player in Neymar and an incredibly quick forward in Mbappe. If either team can beat Bayern then im pretty sure the UCL is theirs.
