Are we not gonna talk about how messed up Harper is? No matter what happened to her she should’ve never hooked up with any of amerie’s crush/ boyfriend. They did not do Amerie justice at all, I feel like they keep disregarding her feelings and made her the bigger person but that’s how you start a pattern with toxic people. If you give them chances they will keep fucking your life up. Quinni and Darren was such a good friend to Amerie. Amerie should never let Harper back in her life. You don’t have to be in someone’s life to wish them better.
I really wanted Amerie and Malakai’s love story to work but then Harper got in the way. Disappointing!!
also the fact that she had a threesome with malakai while he was drunk and high for the 1st time in his life, right after he’d gone through a traumatic moment and was emotionally vulnerable. I think that shouldve been addressed more
Obviously not an excuse…but when you are traumatized you are acting through your trauma, your wounds, and your pain. I think the show tries to highlight that trauma leads us to harm and traumatize others and how difficult that is to navigate in high school. And to forgive someone doesn’t mean disregarding what they did or saying it’s okay…it’s saying that you understand. It is important to have friends that understand us through our pain
agreed, i was even almost willing to look past the stuff with dusty but she KNEW what she was doing when she hooked up w malakai and she never really properly apologised for it. even if it weren't for the fact that him and amerie had just broken up, she still took advantage of someone who had just gone through a traumatic experience & was on multiple substances.. there is absolutely no valid excuse for that
@@2000Het I completely agree with this. I think it was to emphasize the importance of their friendship and that Amerie still had alot of growing up to do - if what they had was a REAL frienship. She needed to understand that there were things happening much bigger than her .. sexual assault? abuse? Her narrow view of everything was even clear when Malakai was going through his own mental struggle, but she didn't know how to act or handle it. Ameries feelings were vaild because she's just a teenager still trying to make sense of them. And trauma shouldn't completely justify one's actions. But I'd say it's more toxic to not recognise the bigger picture and to not let go of your own emotions/change perspectives when a situation is clearly so much bigger than you are.
