Dirtiest Van Ever! Maggots Mold and Treasures
This van belongs to my friend Olie. He is the sweetest man you will ever meet. Over the past 10-12 years, he has accumulated amazing antiques, artwork, furniture, tools, and everything you can imagine. Likewise, there is also a ton of junk that has piled up in this disaster van. This is its first wash in 10 years and we found maggots and mold in the center console area that needed to be steam cleaned and power washed. The floor and car seats were disgusting but we scrubbed them with AMMO Lather and steamer to remove the germs and bacteria. The back of the van held countless treasured items, including Olie's lost eye glasses as you will see in the reveal at the end of the detail. For someone as accomplished as Larry, he isn’t too good to get his hands dirty for a task like this. Kudos to him for staying down to earth even with the unparalleled success.
That's what I love about Larry. He could easily be sitting behind the scenes running his business from a computer- collecting profits and not lifting a finger. It's probably what myself and many others would end up doing in a position like that. Instead, he actually does stuff like this. I can tell he genuinely enjoys detailing cars- everything from an old POS van to half-million dollar exotics. It's why I buy his products. I've followed his brand since the beginning and watched his content get better and better, and now with the new garage it's amazing.
@@seanbond1008 and better yet, he’s not there endlessly pushing his products, he’s genuinely sharing his techniques. And yea, from detailing an F1 car and a McLaren F1 GTR to van filled with stuff, I don’t know if anyone would do work in such wide spectrum lol.
@@seanbond1008 He could, but what would the fun be on that? I run my own small company, by far not as successful as Larry, and I also had the opportunity to just hire people to do the work for me. Nah, money is an important part of running your business, but if you are passionate and enthusiastic about what you do, you always want to be part of the action. You can really see how Larry enjoys being there in his dream workshop detailing.
The best what you can do something for other
Should have switched the passenger seat to the drivers’ seat, since you did not fix the cushion or leather. Why be a cheap skate? Fix all the dents and do something about the corrosion, open up the back and install some seats in the back, turn it into an SUV.... för 1 sekund sedan

Just cleaned the inside of my car yesterday. Found $20 under the driver's seat. I guess was siting on a gem.

That's an awesome thing you did! Based on my experience with people Ollie's age, you should put him on a quarterly rotation and get him in to repeat the process! They can't help it. They don't see it happening until it's too late.

This makes me miss my grandparents so much. I did ask a lot of questions growing up but you always wonder if there was something else you could have talked about, especially as their time was coming. Your videos are really inspiring. The cars have history, but it's when you still have the people who can tell you the history first hand like Ollie, that is really the most rewarding part. What Larry said about grandparents and the older generation is very true. I have always desired to build a close connection with my grandparents. But by time I was old enough to be realize this, I only had one grandparent left. I desired so badly to get some amazing stories out of him. Unfortunately he had dementia and lost his ability to form complete sentences. I never got to hear any stories from him, but at least I showed him my love before he left.

The gas milage must have been aweful with the van packed so heavily.
If it was just filled with random furniture and boxes probably not but that lathe must have weighed a ton. Easily 2-5mpg improvement.

I stumbled on this channel a few days ago and have watched alot of your videos, played your demo which is cool and cant wait for the release but saw this and wow. When you pulled everything out and had him look at it i was like o no another episode of hoarders lol but much respect for helping out an old friend and making it safer for him to continue to live life to the fullest. I gave him a bunch of gift cards at Christmas as I wasn't sure how well he was eating or dealing with life living in a van.

I used to detail at a really high volume shop that cleaned a lot of fleet vehicles. We would do pretty much this same thing. The vans never had anything as cool as this one did though!

My grandma was born in 1900. The stories she told us were amazing! She was a living version of almost every history class took in school! The stories about her everyday life through the years were even more fascinating. While doing laundry shed talk about helping her mom with laundry & compare how the task had changed since then. Whilecooking or baking she’d talk about what kind of advances she had seen arrive & we're now commonplace. Grocery shopping brought up stories about making butter, butchering, hunting, “making garden,” planting & harvesting part on the 150 acre farm she grew up on, going to buy textiles & things that couldn't be made on their own. It was amazing! Even my dad (now 81 & also a farm kid) Tells my kids about when his family finally got to use something other than the outhouse! I’m 51 and my kids can’t believe I actually lived before video games, cellphones, computers, & remember getting our first color TV (I finally understood why Mr. Green Jeans had that name!😂)
I get annoyed when I have a couple pieces of mail or paper on my passages seat and a day old coffee cup in my car.

Yesterday, I saw a 2019 Toyota TRD Pro Tundra covered in green mold. The guy is a contractor and said he doesn't have time to clean it.
That's just lazy. You can't be so busy as to not be able to spare 5 to 10 minutes once or twice a month to at least drive through the automatic car wash.
@@gloucesterdavid Normally I don't even approach people in a parking lot, but it was green mold on a relatively new truck. Somebody had written wash me on the side of the truck, that's what caught my attention.

What a lovely natured man, he deserved that help. It's too true about what you said Larry in terms of being told stories by your grandparents whilst you still can. My dad used to tell me to sit down and listen to his dad and it seemed boring at the time but now I know it was time very well spent. P.S.
