  • Kpop stans always claimed that bts can’t sing just because they don’t do random highnotes in the middle of the song but bts’s vocals are very unique , i love jimins the most but what’s crazy is that jimin had the most hate about his vocals since that encore , but its obvious that he was nervous , his in ear didn’t work kpop stans are still holding on to that clip when he literally did another encore the next day and he sounded fine and he did a live version of the song and he sounded even better. Jimin has always been self-conscious when he says i didn’t do my best or i don’t sound good that doesn’t mean its true, armys who have seen their documents or been here since the beginning you know what am talking about . Even the biggest vocalists had their ups and downs in terms of vocalisation and it won’t change the fact that they are legends just like jimin he will always be thee vocalist

You just have to like them…enjoy their music…appreciate them…show them some love and never be hateful towards any of the members. So if you’re feeling protective then they have made their way in…Accept it and welcome.. and thank you for defending them cause they absolutely can sing. • Kpop fans have been trying to convince people that bts, especially jimin, can't sing for years now... They even made a compilation video of every single mistake bts have ever done when singing, and it was 3 minutes long with clips slowed down and replayed a bunch of times, which just tells me that bts are really good if all their mistakes during their 10 year career with an insane amount of live performances can fit into a 3 minute video :D (especially considering bts sing live 100% of the time, unlike most kpop artists whose fans make those videos, which just tells me they don't know what live singing sounds like because they're not used to it)

  • Dude, Jimin takes it on the chin for ridiculous things. He threatens certain people and I don't get it. All of the members talk about him being the most kind spirited and giving person of the group, but there are folks out there that he draws strong negative emotions out of. I also find myself super protective of him and I want to snap back at stupid comments, but my mid-west nice stops me from letting loose. I slay them inside my head though..... ;-) Jimin's voice appeals to me because of his unique tone and tambour. I love all the guys but for some reason my eyes and ears gravitate to Jimin. I have heard it said that he comes for everyone eventually. I believe it. Thanks for checking this out. It is one of my favorite performances of BTS. The vocal line performing Dimple prior to this song is excellent too. Check it out if you haven't already. Thanks for sharing your reaction.

    • @@pallavisharma4199 Thank you for the comments folks. I have to continually tell myself the comments that are negative or petty that we are all experiencing things differently because of our station in life. We have very young people making comments, people from different cultures and life experiences, and we have old-ish people like me. People have a right to say what they say, for the most part, but we don't have to amplify that noise and give it more attention than it deserves. The members know this and I suspect they take all comments with a grain of salt, good or bad.

  • Damnit, KZhead, that cover is amazing! I’ve been sharing it around. They always do this to BTS related things specifically. Freeze them, erase massive view counts, etc. Boracity magazine has a video called “why the music industry is terrified of BTS” and there are other, similar videos around too if you want to know more. BTS are indie artists like you guys. Being self made with that kind of success doesn’t suit the corporate music industry monopolies at all. It simply cannot stand. So they do everything in their power to sabotage them, and always have.

    • 100% accurate, we have get the resistance multiple times

      @wrighteousj@wrighteousj8 ай бұрын
    • Let's just make sure we're clear - BTS are not indie. You could argue that they started out that way when BigHit was struggling, but even then, BigHit had connections with JYP. Today they're part of the biggest label in Korea, and they have had major US label distribution since like 2017 (Columbia/Universal). This is not to discount the very real struggles they faced, but it's a completely different set of circumstances from a fully self-produced/self-managed band, or even one signed to an indie label here in the US. (Not to jump on you! I completely agree with the rest of your comment.)

      @dilemmacave3@dilemmacave38 ай бұрын
    • @dilemmacave3 The music industries in the US and S Korea are not the same, and given the various differences in how things are done, it's hard to compare them. Structures, connections, promotions, everything is done differently. This includes the prevalence of music and dance hagwons as well as arts based high schools in S Korea as well. It boils down to different cultures. If anything, BTS had it worse than a US Indie artist, because of the targeted and organized hate campaigns, the industry lockout, the press smearing and other things they endured as direct competition to the large labels and a direct challenge to power structures and status quo in both the S Korean entertainment world and in the very heriarchical and conservative larger S Korean culture. But since it's complicated to explain all the many differences, it's easier to euqate them with indie artists, since, for all intents and purposes, that's how they started. They remain industry outsiders, though their new deals with ownership of Hybe America is shifting things now. But the locked-in long established relationships between the former large labels in S Korea and the larger entertainment world there remain a pretty tight fence and in the US they still have not overcome radio, Grammy, media and market biases, both commercial and racial.

      @NanciBK@NanciBK7 ай бұрын
    • @@NanciBK Yes, definitely agree that there are very different challenges; that's why I wanted to clarify for anyone who might be looking at the comments but are not familiar with the kpop industry. "Indie" is very loaded word - from being around independent singer-songwriters with small audiences, I worry that using that term might raise some hackles, that's all. Cause like, imagine being a musician in that world and seeing the biggest artist ever being called "indie." I think "outsider" feels more accurate to me and less likely to fit into some of the more negative narratives that people who dislike armys tend to perpetuate. But 100% agree on all that you mentioned with regard to the lockouts, xenophobia, etc.

  • The funny thing about people coming for jimin's singing is most people can't even keep up with him when covering BTS songs, talk less of his solo stuff. It's mostly flat if they keep it in the original key or they have to change the key to manage jimin's parts.

  • From day one, BTS has been one of the most criticized and ridiculed group. It has served to motivate them to be ever better. The result is they are also the most loved group. As old haters wind up mostly quiet, BTS's global growth stimulates new haters from new quarters. Whenever someone or something perceived to be an "other" enters someone else's territory and succeeds, push back often with little understanding is almost inevitable. BTS has experienced a measure of this. It can become insidious due to the internet which rouses up people to be followers. Good on you for responding as that has been part of how ARMY has been filtering prejudice and detritus. Your honestly formed opinions as a musician are appreciated.

  • Yeah its always was a topic that people who dislike BTS usually go in on their vocals. Realistically, with the amount of performances they made in the past decade, ofc some have flaws. And I also dont think any of the ARMY ever tried to say BTS is vocally Adele or Freddie Mercury....but to say they can t sing is just such a crazy stretch. All of them have unique voices and performances or songs that are more or less suitable for them, just like all of them also have better and worse days vocally, all in all tho BTS does provide a very high standard of live performances regularly, so calling them bad singers made me always laugh a bit XD Thank you btw for the great reaction! 💜 And dont worry, kpop fans get a bad rep mostly coz of the vocal minority, just like any fandoms do. All in all tho once people look into this fandom they do realize that while it has some crazies, these fandoms are also the ones that are most involved in charities and actually use their community for a greater good. So while a lot of people will always think badly of ARMY or other fans, I wont ever feel ashamed of being part of the community, coz the few crazies can t take away from all the good deeds our community achieved...and honestly every ARMY i met irl was extremely helpful and nice.

The funniest one is when Jin's voice cracks during The Truth Untold and JK can't hold back his laughter. For some reason though, Jimin gets the most hate. It's really sad to see. They are all so amazing and I wish people could get a life and stop being so hateful. If you don't care for his voice, so be it but that doesn’t make him bad, it just means it's not your preference. Me on the other hand, will continue to have him as my ult bias because of how unique and special his voice is, cracks and all!

In a live performance can give Mariah Carrey off tune, while she is a timeless diva. The haters just dont like Jimin or BTS, hence they blow up any possible chance just for their pleasure. My favorite parts of all your reactions is when you pause the video whenever Jhope shows up and be like "That's my guy", it makes my day. Also and I am sure I am not the only ARMY that feels this way, Pied Piper to me is a seduction/scolding song. I feel like they are reprimanding me for being so into them but also being told I am being a good girl as well for the same reason. • J*E*A*L*O*U*S*Y That’s their main issue. Whether it’s professional jealousy of their artistic and financial success, or the appreciation level and loyalty of the fanbases, or personal jealousy….haters are sad, small people with weak egos who try to make themselves feel important by tearing others down. Or they are dark triad personalities (the three main antisocial personality disorders) who literally get off on hurting and upsetting people. Either way, they are sick people who like to suck the joy out of everything and harm others. Also: You’re ARMY, who are you kidding? We see you. Looking forward to your new song. Borahae!

  • I’m not sure which, ‘BTS Can’t Sing’, video you’re talking about but the one I’ve watched spends the whole time proving that statement wrong. You’re desire to protect them means you’re definitively, ARMY, already. As Jimin says, ‘You nice, keep going.’ I have a special affection for the songs they do which mention us and this is one of them. They know we follow them like the Pied Piper. Instead of going to bed we’re up late watching their videos and waking up bleary eyed because of them. They then kill us with those body rolls at the end.

  • "BTS can't sing," has been dogging them since debut. The thing is, when they debuted, the four vocal line members weren't singers & had received resource-limited training from Big Hit; they all had to play an intense game of catch-up with their peers from bigger, wealthier agencies. What the antis don't seem to grasp is that what they consider an insult is actually a testament to BTS' work ethic & sense of responsibility to their fans. They've each literally agonized & shed tears because of their Imposter Syndrome around not feeling ready or worthy enough to be Idols. They've also each worked their asses off to get better at their chosen craft. Re: Jimin's singing. I've been saying the same thing for years & damn, do I wish a credentialed vocal coach would do a deep dive on his voice & vocal technique. Haters just do not seem to grasp how difficult it is to master the vocal techniques that Jimin is using, especially as a member of the dance line who's expected to execute model choreographies. He's walking a high wire of breath control & stability that's constantly getting tossed around by the physicality required of his dancing. As someone who watches a fair number of reactions, I can't tell you how many people I've seen shocked at Jimin's (and Jin's), live performances where there's no/limited choreography. Listen to a live, non-choreography performance of any of their Japanese songs, then try telling me the vocal line can't sing.

  • I started watching bts only because my daughter was and it peaked my curiosity. 4.5yrs later and I am a full blown army but I was surprised at how quickly I felt protective of the members. I listen to a lot of diff music and I find it hard sometimes to really learn anything deep about many western artists. Perhaps that extra level with the amount of behind the scenes content BTS shares helped make me feel more involved/knowledgeable about them. Not that that has anything to do with it….They are all human, and they are often moving a lot but even when standing still every singer has bad days, bad moments including singing while sick. I guarantee those people making most of those crap videos can’t sing a note.

  • In any case, you don't go to a concert to hear a "perfect" version of the songs. Otherwise, just play the album on screen. No, if we go to a concert it is to listen to an artist live and feel his music. Sometimes the emotion is so intense that he forgets the initial sound but that's when it's even better even if purely musically speaking it can be a little off. Music is made for that, it lives and evolves, in no case should it remain static.

Each member developed their vocal technique and they keep training and practicing. In particular, Jimin’s voice has grown and changed tremendously. They know where they need to grow and they work on it. Humble hardworking kings.

  • "I'm not ARMY, it's not that deep-" Man, you sound like one of us, if you want in you're in. 😂 Once you start wanting to defend these guys, it's probably inevitable anyway 💜 Of course they can sing! And your description of their singing abilities is spot on. JK is technically strong and very versatile and kind of scarily good, but they all have skill and interesting vocal tone and are awesome to listen to. I think there are a lot of great voices out there and BTS has four of them. If you *want* to hate on them, of course you can find clips of voice cracks or breathless moments or whatever from live performances. Mostly old ones. And Jimin struggled the most singing live consistently early on, I think. But he wasn't *bad* even then and he's the opposite of bad now. And it pisses me off when people will grab a video of a voice crack and say it means someone's not a good singer. People are human, and if you want perfection you don't want a live performance. Honestly, given his very unusual voice type, I think he had probably a significant challenge learning to use his instrument well. Things that worked for Jungkook might not have worked for him, you know? There are some really sweet moments in BTS history that are good counters for the hate, when a member lost his voice and the crowd sang his part, for example. And if you're a decent human being and you're in the crowd for that, you don't get mad that they couldn't sing, you feel incredibly special that you got to be part of the moment. Look up some of those if you need to feel good 💜 PS I'm excited about the song! Jungkook is dropping one the same day so I'll be listening to both and I bet there will be significant musical whiplash involved 😂

I wish you had more time to do more, but I know you are working hard to get your band seen and heard as it should be. I am also sorry that KZhead thinks we are all bots. Again something we have had to deal with. For some reason all these platforms, Billboard, Spotify, iTunes, etc... think ARMY is not as huge as it is or as loyal, dedicated and passionate as we are. And we will 100% support anyone the guys work with or love and respect. And 100% support reactors that truly love the guys for who and what they are. So I sincerely hope ARMY can do whatever we can to help your band as well. You are all very talented and deserve to make it in the music industry 💜💜💜

He got thrown in there as leed vocalists with the bare minimum time to practice with a vocal coach ( 6 months as a trainy) while all the other members had 2 years or more and still Jimin did an amazing job since debute and he keeps working so hard until now. He might not be perfection but close to it. Sorry he is human and he might have an off moment here or there but people are so disrespectful when he has shown more than enough time that he is very talented in all areas and has an angelic unique voice that none can match.
