Hi y’all nice catch fish bro
Another great video man!
I tried to sign up but the card/payment page is broken, none of my cards worked, the boxes just stay red no matter what I tried 🤷
Hey Taku… it’s Andrew from the beginning of your video… anytime you’re in Monterey you can come out. I’ll take you and whoever you’re with on me. Rockfish, halibut, squid, tuna, whatever we are able to fish for we can go. You’re a stand up guy and it was nice to talk to ya. Look forward to seeing you on the water. Tight lines….
Shoot me a message on IG if you can!
LETS GOO WE GOT MF ANDREW

But it’s Wednesday over here lol
Put this on a t shirt asap. 😅
def take that offer up! always good to spend time w people who appreciate you
Perfectly prepared squid. It's a tasty seafood. What's another bonus is that it's sustainable. I think that even chunks of halibut, or even mussels would be a great addition to that soup. That stove you have is pretty cool too. This was another awesome adventure. Cheers, Taku and Jocelyn. 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
In CA, there are some other very sustainable choices (tho I love squid too): herring, mackerel, anchovies, sardines, sand dabs, sole. Skates and rays are fairly plentiful too. Taku always has great cooking techniques, which can make anything taste great.
that compact butane stove is absolutely genius. Also, I've been a viewer for a few years now and your style of outdoor cooking really reminds me of the original New Scandinavian Cooking from PBS. And then I realized your outro music pays homage to him. Love it.
it should include a wind blocker if marketing to camping
Hey Taku. FYI. We were in Alaska on a cruise and bought your new Kelp Chili crisp product. The Canadian customers seized it when we returned from Vancouver to the US. They said it exceeded the ml. limits. Really bummed about it. I really wanted to taste it. Oh well.
I know it’s always a good feeling when you get props from people you don’t know and respect your hard work. I want to give you your roses and say great job I love your content your the #1 fishing slash outdoor channel I watch also like Stay fishy channel
Wonderful! The footage is all crisp too! Really makes a difference; makes the video look polished!
This reminds of a childhood friend who relentlessly teased me about eating squid. One day I cooked up some calamari and he said it was his favorite dish. When I reminded him he hated “calamari” and he was shocked to find out calamari was squid. Jeez😂
Hello Taku, my name is Marcus and I am from Switzerland. I like it very much to look at your videos. Especially when you take your first drink from beer.
Kayak Taku is the Taku I subscribed to years ago. I love it
What a meal at the end!! You're such a consistent duo you two! Thanks
Glad you’re in Monterey. The striped bass are hitting on the wharf just before sundown. Good luck.
As always great video simple but entertaining and informative keep up the amazing work you guys are doing 👍
Your squid soup reminds me of the soup I had when I taught in South Korea. It was the polar opposite of the masterpiece that you cooked, cheap and simple, but not too bad. We teachers ate our lunch with the kids so the food had to be economical. The squid soup was pretty much a red chili pepper broth with some squid tentacles.
Awesome vid!! I fixed my squid soup last night and UGHHH, I forgot my dried shiitake mushrooms!! Yep, it's always something that I forget too. I changed my recipe up a lil bit though, since I've won several of the "Pepper X" sauces from Smokin' Ed Currie. I added a couple tablespoons of his "Pepper X Slavic Plum" and that gave it a nice kick.
Firebox stove usage was not the crossover I expected! I love his content and I love yours too, chef!
Haven’t been on here for a while. Love the squid. And your outdoor cooking. My lord last time I watch you just finished your camper. Wow. Well time to subscribe again.
The large squid or cuttle fish go for around $20-25 bucks the smaller cuttle fish are around $3 bucks each about 8” inch’s but just the tubes at our Asian grocery store, the ones you were catching are about I think $12 bucks a box , they are the same a bait here in Florida, deep fried tempura squid 👍🏼
Calamari, or tempura fried seafood is awesome. Cheers!
I live in the Pacific Northwest and love seafood. I think my favorite is squid. It not only tastes great but it is readily available and inexpensive!
Looks delicious thank you Taku !!
Squid 🦑, the no wait bait ‼️💪🏼💯
Nice little stove! That’s slick!
Huge props for searing and cooking that squid perfectly over that flimsy contraption. Keep it coming chef!
Wow that is so gourmet looking, amazing for camp food!
I'm thrilled you're using Firebox equipment. Talk about a "compatible" company/You Tube adventurer and small company. I don't see you walking with a string of goats but the FIrebox people do. Wonderful!
Been using it for years!
I’m glad you mentioned the rod to reel combo because I was like is Taku high ? 😂😂😂
LOL I was like fuhhh...oh well😂
I don't fish but I like watching Taku and other fishing channels, can you explain what's wrong with his fishing gear?
@@edwinceron7677 spinning rods have larger guides for spinning reels, Taku was doing the opposite of what I see others do and that’s use a conventional rod with a spinning reel… Taku was using a conventional reel with the spinning rod, definitely not a big deal but since he mentioned it and I noticed it we both thought it was funny (makes us look new to fishing 😂)
@@addicted2fishing119he still caught a bunch of squid. 👍 It’s the reeler or rodder not the reel or rod. 😀 Just like golf. It’s the Clubber not the Club.
@@f430ferrari5 that’s why we’re laughing about it so don’t really see your point
This is my hometown! Squid are some of the best eating seafoods! Cheers!
That’s a fancy looking little stove you got there Taku🤗
Great Episode! Key West Waterman gave you a nice referral in his last Episode ' Archer or the Arrow'
Love me some wood grilled squid. One of my favs here in Turkey.
I don''t know what it is about your squid videos that is so satisfying! maybe its how you cook them? or maybe because the many ways you CAN eat them? or the way they are caught XD
I like your chef life stove a lot. I’m curious about how it does in the wind though. Btw I saw your kelp stuff for sale all the way in Indianapolis. Awesome stuff man
Very nice, guys!!! Looks delicious
You make me want to move to CA or the PNW, man. This looks so freaking good.
Taku! I hope one day you'll offer a sushi making class. All the ones available in SF are the cheap looking kind, where the rice is sticking to each other...can't see each individual grain - see I've learned a lot already from your videos. So interested in making nigiri sushi instead of your ordinary rolls. 🙏🏼 Please let me know if you ever consider in person classes.
Finally got my hands on some Kelp Chili Crisps. And now I understand the addiction. It’s sooooo bomb! I eat it with everything!
The addictions is real!
I know people who have gotten cheap portable propane burner from an Asian market and it blew up! Looking forward to ur personally recommended OCL one!
You can cook for me any day. 😊 Lovely to see Jocelyn 😊
I need the gas stove… was hoping it’s out. But I’ll wait for the drop❤
Taku living the good life. Congratulations
Great video. Where did you get the cutting board from again? I think you mentioned it before. Thanks
Hmmm that sure looks good! Fun times on the water, what an awesome adventure!
Great to see more Squid Videos Taku!
It's the aggressive breath after the beer for me. 😆
Nice to see you in my back yard .
I love squid and I love your wonderful tips on how to catch and cook squid-thank you so much.
🤔You forgot the Kelp Chilli Crisp😢. Great video yall. The "license" check went 'cool', he slipped in behind ya😅". "Get up against the kayak", nah he was cool, too. Memphis, 10
Your videos are magical bro.
Always great video here - also - I get a lot of pleasure using my Nobu Knife! Huge gratitude Taku! Ted in Pacifica
I love squid too! Becareful out there with all the boats and yaks around this season
Really cool. I moved to California earlier this year and lived there for a couple months. I didn't have the required documentation to get a fishing license, which I regret. I wanted to go fishing so badly and catch a Lingcod. I did visit a dock, which you can fish from without a license, but I was unsure of the Laguna Beach area. I watch your channel and another (which you have collab'd with in the past - how I found your channel). I will say that your New Zealand fishing trip was very good. Also, I love squid. I use it as bait here in Texas (yes, I moved back to Texas after only 2 months). I expect to go shark fishing here in a few weeks (shore fishing...bait, cast, relax in a chair, and wait...lol). Excellent video! Take care!
Love ye vids keep them up , from U.K. !
I never have squid soup, but I woud try one of these days.
Great video! Thx!
I was wondering when this video will be out. wanted to know if you caught halibut or not. I have the same name as your brother as you told me. I was with my daughter on 2 kayaks if you remember 🙂 (we launched at the same time, we were in the background at the beginning of the video.) we only caught 1 squid.. skunked haha
It's workers day Taku in South Africa happy worker's day 🎉
So so glad you are back! Make it happen. Thanks
Man Taku I love you man thanks for inspiring me to love what I do
Love your videos !
Everything looks delicious
Love your videos huge fan ❤😂
That jam pong looks so delish!!!!!
💛...i've heard of the new horizon... good reputation... great episode...
Nice video Taku....that soup looked delicious. Now thats what I call a beer chug, I give you an impressive 9 on the Taku Beer Chug Meter
Heard he was here in Monterey lol. My roommate met him over at Robbie’s Seafood and got a picture with him
Taku you should try having a bottle of chogochujang. It's basically vinegar, gochujang, and sugar. Maybe a little sesame oil if you want to make it fancy. It makes any raw seafood taste greater especially the lighter low fat fish and seafood. Raw squid tastes amazing with it...
You should come up to Washington for winter squiding in the Puget sound it's a blast a 10lb limit per person it's fun and you use smaller different type of jigs
It looks like no bait just a jig?
Where do you get those cutting board? Sick stove!!!
Nice! yet another good video.
Love seeing this channel going from 10k->700k
Need one of those stoves!!
What is the burner you're using?
That soup looks so delicious
THERE SHE IS! We haven't seen Jocelyn in a few videos, was getting worried.
definitely want that portable stove! ❤
Anywhere I can get a write up of this recipie? I really wanna make it
Taku, nice squid catch! Also that squid your sister caught was huge, never seen a squid that big!
Nice catch
Which foldable kayak do you use?
...from earlier vids, it's oru...
Love the content. Come to Abu Dhabi some time.
Taku! How the heck do you find squid? Are you seeing them on the sonar or something? I live in the Puget Sound and I only get them here and there on the evenings off the pier. The only nights I can get them are nights when the seals aren't chasing them. I seem to not be able to locate any just going off the beach anywhere.
Hi taku! You should try coming to Guam, you don't need fishing license to fish here.
this ones are small comparing to the squid from Japan! Great video Taku
New Horizon will hook you up. That was very nice of Andrew. 👍
The tentacles are my favorite part. Especially deep fried with a light batter. Most restaurants in my area did away with the tentacles..... Very depressing
Taku can you show us how to do the ikejime? If you havent already.
Chocolate River Marquette Michigan for salmon fishing people come from around the world
Love me a new Outdoor Chef Life video released 15 minutes ago
Can’t wait to squid fish. They just started to show up in Massachusetts
Hoooo that looks good!!!!
Whenever I go to Greece I order grilled squid stuffed with feta cheese and a jalapeño. Never ever get tired of it .the squidis the most sustainable because they breed so quickly and have a very short life
Daaaymm that looked bomb af
I only eat BBQ squid, the best way to eat them! Would like a foldable stove idea, it's so hard to lug all the equipment for an outdoor cook!
1:10 Taku gets stalked by a herd of sea lions🫣 🤣🥺😜
You should try making squid adobo, same recepie and ingredients as chicken adobo
What would have been a better rod?
Taku needs to go on the next masterchef!!!
Are those type of squid usually that small? I mostly catch Humboldt around here.
