    • @@j-boogiebrown9961 no....you're obviously very ignorant. Did you even read what you just typed? There's no sense and definitely no sense of reality there. Awareness of the rise of racially motivated crimes ≠ Americans think all white people are racist And a non white president for two terms doesn't mean racism suddenly disappeared or that racist people stopped being racist. Considering, you're not American, I'll slightly excuse you for the ignorance. But since you are ignorant, go search up all the racist things Obama had to deal with and things that he had to tolerate during his presidency. Educate yourself and know about a topic before you go off about it.

    • Joshua Hammond the astronomical rates of incarceration for black men, the school-to-prison pipeline, and the capitalist driven prison industrial complex are very very real problems and a true example of modern day slavery in my opinion due to the loopholes in the 13th Amendment. My comment was not meant to undermine that deplorable reality but rather to point out the necessity for an intersectional approach to understanding our oppressive institutions. The patriarchy is real, binary socialization processes and the negative effects of them are real, and if you are a man regardless of your color the privilege you experience is real. Racism and our prison systems are very real problems but so is you not understanding the true depths of sexism.

  • I haven't seen a better example of toxic masculinity than when I saw this kid sorting through clothes to pick out what he liked. That wasn't the toxic thing, that's just the setup. So this boy was seven years old, barely understandable, so you know what he believed was drilled into him by his parents, instead of his own opinions. I watched him pick up a navy blue hoodie his size. Again, dark navy blue, no diamonds, no shiny things, just a cotton hoodie. He looked at the label though and shook his head. So I asked, "Doesn't fit you?" And he just says, "Girls." and then follows it up with something I didn't quite understand. I guess the brand was a female brand? I don't know how he'd know. I certainly couldn't tell. Then later he picked up a grey hoodie his size. Dark grey. Again, nothing inherently feminine about it. And then he's showing me and his sister, asking if it's a girl's hoodie. And I was like, Kid it's fine, it's dark grey. Noone would even know if it was. And anyway it just shook me that this little child was so afraid of accidentally wearing a girl's brand, even if it didn't look like it. Even more, it tells me something about his parent's and their insecurities. It just didn't strike me as right to teach your kid to be so brand-afraid?? I mean it's their parenting choice but he's gonna have so limited options when he's older?

    • You think a seven year old boy wanting to be clearly recognized as his gender identity is "toxic"? If he was a girl who identified as a boy and didn't want to wear a dress you'd be all on board for respecting his gender expression but an actual boy wanting to wear what he views as boy's clothes somehow oppresses you? Don't reproduce. Your kid is definitely going to need therapy.
