0:00 Introduction: The worst protein in the world
0:56 What is textured vegetable protein?
1:52 How is textured vegetable protein made?
4:26 Protein poisoning
In this video, we’re going to talk about one of the worst protein sources in the world. After having a horrible reaction to some “chicken wings” that I ate, I called to find out what was in them. It turns out they were plant-based chicken wings made with textured vegetable protein.
Textured vegetable protein, or textured soy protein, is the worst protein in the world. Soy or cottonseed is used as the “vegetable” to make this protein.
Textured vegetable protein was invented in 1960 as a way to use the waste produced from seed oils. It has been used in veggie burgers, fake meat products, cereals, and many other food products.
Textured vegetable protein is an ultra-processed ingredient. To make it, oil, nutrients, and fiber are removed from the soybean using heat and chemicals like hexane. There are no long-term safety studies or upper limit on hexane established by the FDA. Chronic hexane toxicity is a condition caused by inhaling hexane, so what happens when you ingest it?
Over 95% of textured vegetable protein is GMO, and when consumed, it robs nutrients from your liver. It’s very similar to soy protein isolates.
Any time you consume pure protein without fat, you are creating stress in your body, especially if the protein doesn't contain key nutrients like fat-soluble vitamins A, E, D, and K.

    • Just imagine....you could be even healthier if you implemented animal based products into your diet. Research has proven that our digestive system absorbs protein and nutrients from plant based products at only a fraction of the rate it does with animal based products...don't shoot the messenger, you can't argue with science! But at least vegetarian/vegan diets are healthier than ultra processed food diets and though it's possible to be in descent health on plant based products, over time, the only thing saving you since you are vegetarian are eggs, they are a fantastic multi vitamin but optimal health can only be achieved through clean animal based products including both meat and healthy fats and of course pasture raised eggs!

  • I've been a vegetarian/pescatarian for almost 3 decades now, & during those yrs, was a vegan for 3+ yrs - was the happiest & lightest in all aspects, yet, decided to discontinue due to over-processed options, despite of the complimentary/abundant choices in recent yrs. To me, regardless of the diet types, the choice in the whole foods vs. processed supersedes all. Still there is always another way & another choice to be healthier individually, but the WHOLE FOOD (preferably organic w/ known origin when/if applicable) is the way to go!! ***another great health benefit I've learned/gained re: myself from veganism was cutting out dairy reduced the break outs & inflammation almost entirely; since then I keep dairy consumption minimal to none*** + intermittent fasting (along w/ prolong ones) has been a true winner for me! FYI, my choice in vegetarianism lies strictly/wholly on my deepest LOVE for animals - just no need to treat them that cruelly whatsoever...... again, there is always another way & another choice... I'm ashamed to be a human on this planet earth (so difficult on a daily basis...), just the most severe & detrimental ignorance & brutality... My health is the most important thing, but the LOVE for animals & this planet is far greater!! & yes, we all have our own way to contribute, big & small, what resonate the most w/ our hearts... for that, Dr. Berg, what you do for all of us is immeasurable, to say the least, THANK YOU!!!!! Utmost appreciation & love... 🥰😍🤩🤍💙💚❣👏👍🍀🌻🌈✨🕉

My T-levels did half since I've been taking soy milk but we were not sure if it was connected to soy. So, I gave up soy, just to be on the safe side. 3 months later, we did another check. Really nice if you don't see what causes this mass epidemic of obesity in the US: too much meat, sugar, dairy and artificial sweeteners besides other ultra processed components. It's certainly not the result of a protein like from soybeans. My god...

    • @@thirdeye4654 Sir or ma'am, have you seen what Asians actually eat? They eat everything they can get their hands on and cook. Do you not remember the infamous "wet-market" they desperately tried to pin as the source for Coof? Soy is one of their protein sources, but is nowhere near the only one. Asians are also not a sedentary as Westerners, and don't treat food as emotional therapy or the enemy.

  • Another fine example of passing waste off as food. These people need to do time now and in the here after. All involved.
