The time you actually spent fishing is pretty negligible! But, all the hard work has paid off because the finished product is amazing. Also, I can't quite get over how blue those sharks actually are! Looking forward to going out on the Anglo Dawn next Wednesday!

  • Hi again from Oz, thanks for another great video John, there's been a few recent shark attacks in Oz & I'm wondering if it occurs at all in the UK or are the sharks too far offshore to be a threat. In my eyes they're beautiful creatures & I think they only become a threat when we take their natural food from them with the "super trawlers " that take everything & upset the balance of nature. Its great that you have the mindset to protect these beautiful creatures, well done mate. Cheers from Oz

  • Great video. I was fishing for blues once and a fulmar got tangled in my slack line and while I was about to pull the line in to untangle it, it went crazy as a big blue came up from below, mouth open and tried to take it right there next to the boat. I read about the theory that blues may have actually killed more people than any other shark, mostly during WW2 where ships were torpedoed and a lot of men were left in the water and there was rarely anyone remaining to give an account. They are an oceanic shark so won't be in a position to attack people on beaches like great whites do, but they do seem to have a proper go at anything in the water (chum bags even when they are lifted out above the water, birds and floats and anything generally about), which lends some real validity that they would take humans given the chance in open water.

    @Ray.Norrish@Ray.Norrish2 жыл бұрын
    • I believe the sharks attributed to more fatalities than any other are the oceanic white tip. They are the ones that pick off sailors after ships being torpedoed. 😉
