I will agree with the teacher though Annie should still raise her hand in class and be nice to her classmates. Annie is obviously really smart maybe the teacher should consider letting her skip a grade.

  • I knew a guy in class who was the absolute smartest. He'd win all the competitions, and I'd always place second. Rarely would someone beat him, and if it was anyone, it was me. He was really humble, however. Never bragged or insulted. That was until the other students started feeding his ego and making him have the need the win, and then he would brag and winning became super important to him. Anytime he lost, the class would cheer. I felt really bad for him because that was way too much pressure all because he was smart.

  • Seems like it's not the mother's fault for training her daughter to be perfect in her class. Our society makes us think about perfectionism in all walks of life, so she did whatever she used to see in her life. Thanks to the thoughtful teacher who understood the situation and successfully changed the viewpoint of both mother and daughter that life is not about winning and losing, The journey is just as important as a destination.

  • "Life isn't about winning or losing, the journey is just as important as the destination." Very true message! In life, nobody likes to lose, but we all lose sometimes. We may think we've failed everyone and even ourselves, but we also need to realize that all that matters is that we should be proud of ourselves and tried our very best. As it showed in this video, it's not good to be a show-off; it can make everyone else and even ourselves feel bad and crush their self-esteem. Being that way also can be resulted ourselves with no social life; even being left out all the time.
