  • This is a call that should be used more often. So many players not least in the womens game have extremely large and dangerous swings. Of course it should be used prior to the swing actually hurting the other player.

  • Good call, provided he was warned about it before. Should be used more often. There are many players that have excessively large follow through movements. If your opponent is far away you can of course make yourself big, but in tight rallies you must be careful and learn to work with smaller movements to allow the opponent a clear path to the ball without risking serious injuries.

  • he was capitalizing on a weak return with a full on backhand hammer. He would have stopped and asked for a let if Crouin had been closer. cut the guy some slack. a warning would have sufficed. He doesnt seem like one to ignore safety warnings.

  • Seems harsh but don't know what else was going on in the match 🤷‍♂️🤔

  • This ref was biased! For example, when Victor was using the towel, ref said nothing. When Dimitri asked for a towel and approached it, the ref started speeding him up before he even started to use it. Check this decision against Dimitri, ridiculous! kzhead.info/sun/Y9yKc81rpZejmHA/bejne.html

  • The swing is bit dangerous tbh. But can just tell him instead of giving stroke. Or he did warn him previously this don’t know

    • Check Victor's swing at 0:01, same as Dimitri's at the next shot.

    • @@TheMeehawIndeed but maybe as Dimitri is behind, and the other cas Victor is in front, it’s consider more dangerous. Again a warning would have been enough i think. Those 2 players are gentlemen players not like Asal 😂

  • Good call. You take the racket over your head to some extent in this type of situation. It was not even a cross court shot after all

  • Just get on with it.. too many rules puts spectators off and kills the game

  • Good decision, look at how the opponent is ducking away from the follow-through

  • I don't understand what was Victor's problem? Overswinging the racket? But it wasn't indicated then. When he signaled, it was when Dimitri "distracted" him as he went for the ball. I think that Dimitri had the right to that, because he was the next hitter.

  • Don't put that referee anywhere near any other matches, too pedantic. Victor has the right to appeal for any perceived interference or whatever by Dimitri, and apart from that the ref should let the game continue. He's there to adjudicate and not to stop play unnecessarily.

    • The referee has a duty of care for the players, anything which might cause injury eg. Sweat on the floor, a player turning on the ball excessive swing play must stop when it is safe to do so.

    • @@jeremyenescott4211It'd be good to see the whole match. However Dimitri is not an intentionally 'dirty' player unlike some others on the circuit who I won't name, we know who they are however. The referee in this instance should have let the rally continue, Victor had the right of appeal to the referee if he was concerned(as he motioned) at the end of the play. This is obviously a subjective interpretation of the rules on my part, in the vein of 'there's a time and place for everything' observation.
