  • If they are 4k 55" panels then that is 3840 x 2160 × 260 = 2,156,544,000. If they are 8k panels then that is 7680 x 4320 x 260 = 8,626,176,00. TLDM... somewhere between 2 and 8.6 billion pixels.

      @srdjagunjic@srdjagunjic Жыл бұрын

    • @@srdjagunjic First even the best rated LED light can only output Ra of 95, this is the the colour accuracy, 100 being a light accuracy that of the sun, basically white light. OLED however naturally gives a smoother colour wave and therefore has Ra of 100 just like old glow bulbs and halogen bulbs did but with the efficiency of LED. Having been a photographer for 10 years its really been massive struggle to get lights with good colour accuracy now that they are killing off all the Halogen lights we used to have, my entire house is lit by Halogen bulbs but they are almost impossible to buy in my country, OLED would be the ultimate light source because of its colour accuracy. Oh and your mood suffers horribly under poor lightning, scientifically proven that people worked better under halogen and OLED lighting than LED and CFL.

Assuming that there are 10,000 pixels per square inch on OLED panels, it turns out that there are 13,656,600 pixels on every TV screen. LG used 260 TV's, so we have a total of 3,550,716,000 pixels. Hope somebody proves me wrong.

    • TVs have a fixed number of pixels regardless of their screen size. Check Joshua Harlan’s comment. 4K is 3840 x 2160. 8K is double that on each side. So 3840 x 2160 x 260 = 2.16 billion. Multiply that by 4 if they are 8K TVs

    • Wireless = latency. No thanks

      @SteveDonev@SteveDonev Жыл бұрын
    • @@SteveDonev that's a very broad statement. Most wireless latency is due to packet loss, interference, and the resulting protocols needed to compensate for that. But wireless as a medium is every bit as fast as copper and in some cases it can be even faster. If LG is using a very high frequency transmission meant just for a small room, it's possible for this to be lag-free. The line of sight 60ghz ones don't add any latency but come with their own obvious problems. LG claims zero latency because their zero connect is "3 times faster than WiFi 6" but we can only guess what that means. WiFi 6e can operate at 7.125ghz so maybe LG is using something like 20ghz? We'll see.

  • We did just buy a new TV and we picked up a 55 inch LG LCD TV for 399.99 and it is a very nice TV plenty sharp enough for us! I once made the mistake of buying top-of-the-line newest tech in two weeks later was disappointed when of course it was no longer top-of-the-line and the same TV could’ve been bought for $500 less! Of course you have a test channel and you have to know what’s the newest best and hopefully we can all learn from that. Enjoy your day Zack happy new year to you and yours!

  • I would only pick the 8K120 OLED if it has DP 2.0 Port or wait for the next version of HDMI. Relying only on built-in streaming and upscaling for a panel like that would not be ideal. Specially for the price and lack of native 8K content.

  • I own the LG 4k C2, and absolutely love it. That 8k looks stunning, however the transparent OLED is mind blowing. LG is an amazing company that is a leader in innovation undoubtedly. I also own a LG range, stove and microwave. They never disappoint. Longevity of the fridge is questionable, due to the linear compressor that I heard is a great technology, but had issues?
