Let's look at a map and trace the rise and fall of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria / Daesh / ISIS.
English translation & voiceover : Rahul Venkit / @rahulvenkit
Original video in French: • État Islamique - Résum...
Music: Dragonfly - Quincas Moreira (From KZhead library)
Isis still has a couple pockets in Syria and Iraq but nothing strategic beyond a few neighborhoods in Damascus and the reports of them taking ground are greatly exaggerated. They took four neighborhoods in a major city there are gangs in L.A. that have done better.
Tim Whinet What’s it’s called?
Tom Stoller liar they have been out of iraq since December they now only pose a threat
Tim Whinet this game is lit thanks for the recommendation
Noot Noot De Doot bruh im currently downloaling it, it better be as good asnyall are saying
TheChaoticGamer It doesn’t have good graphics but if you like urban warfare this game is amazing
Finally, a good explanation. I had no idea that the wars in the middle east against ISIS were even over!
The attacks by ISIS on military points of the Syrian army have not ended yet
Iraq: *Finds oil reserves* US: Iraq has weapons of mass destruction Iraq: *Auctions away its oil deposits to multinationals* US: Iraq is a free country now.
Lol
Ahh murica'
True unfortunately
@@abbasalmoola3162 Wrong actually
@@r.o.b8728 well as an Iraqi I can confirm that it's true
It all started in 1919, after the first world war, when instead of giving promised land to the Arabs France and the UK took it for themselves
Kris you’re right
thats because of Arab disunity which causes weakness they should be ashamed of themselves
That and a lot of Arab leaders tried to unify but they didn’t want to lose power so nothing ever end up happening
@@Sheir01 only UAE united all others untied like syria and egypt but eventually it failed it happened to many countries in the ME
@@ariko5254 yup thats what i meant lol

RevRSleeker, with the exception of 1:44 because, if you look closely, Northern Ireland isn’t covered by the U.K. flag.
Zach...well spotted, I do hope that's merely an oversight and not something a tad, shall we say, 'political' ...lol
RevRSleeker, haha, maybe it is political. You never know!
I appreciate how you didn't use words like "regime" or "dictator". You did a really good job at explaining the issue without taking sides.
Excellent video. Very objective and fair. Rare to find in media coverage these days.
Nice video! Enjoyed it a lot!

Nicely presented and very professional.
Geo, this is an excellent overview. Western media and propaganda from vested-interests have only made the IS situation seem more confusing. In just a few minutes, you have clearly and concisely explained the history behind the creation of IS, and the subsequent war to defeat them. I look forward to more.
andrew strongman The mainstream media wants it to be confusing. They want to create a story with speculative commentary, keeps people engaged, hence revenue.
Man, with all due respects there is very little data in this video, just basics. Nothing wrong with that but if you aren't eager to learn beyond 6 minutes videos, do not automatically make a claim of someone intentionaly making theme "confusing". It is confusing, wanna know more? Read.

Thank you for your work and research on this. It was very informative and straight to the point chronologically. I like to cross reference information from smaller channels other than the spun narratives of any of the corporate news networks.
What a great youtube channel it is. Superb work dear. Each and every video by you is worth praise. Keep going strong. Looking for many many more videos.
Excellent video.. and very useful graphical representation. Thanks.
I love how the animation & narratives simplify the stories being told, very easy to understand better.
Been enjoying all of your vids since happening upon your channel. Thanks for your hard work.
Really sleek and nice video. Good job. Looking forward to some more videos.
I must say deep respect for pointing out the areas ISIL actually care about in contrast to desert areas. The media too often portrays rebel territorial control in huge sways, whereas in reality that's not necessarily how this works. Most rebels, insurgents and partisans really only care about controlling the roads, where all the financial incentive is.
Thank you Geo History for this, it was very professionally done. I will admit that some of the comments have been right, I would like to have seen some more recognition of the SAA in the fight, but other than that very accurate. Love from America.
Thank you that was precise.
Isnt that weird? USA left iraq in 2011 later in the same year isis rised and invade most of it?
No it’s not weird, it’s obvious.
Yea big powerful force leaves the city another one comes in noting new Guy
Sarcasm does not translate well into other languages...lol.
Yes, well, the pacifists got what they want: an Iraq free from US "occupation." And, in turn, the Iraqis got actually occupied by ISIS. People need to think about the consequences of US actions instead of solely worrying about what they want and desire.
ParisofDuals, if the Pacifists got what they wanted, we would've never went into Iraq in the first place...actually we would'nt of went into the Middle East since the early 1900s, turn of the century with the idea of preventing middle eastern countries to Nationalize their oil resources, and kick out American and British oil companies like British Petroleum, and then removing their democractically elected leaders, and propping up dictators and puppet governments... Of course if USA goes around doing this like this, we found out there is consequences, its what CIA calls "BLOWBACK" BLOWBACK - he unintended adverse results of a political action. In the middle East the blowback was the Iranian Islamic revolution, that overthrew the American back Iranian Dictator the Shah who tortured and murdered a million Iranians to keep control of Iran... That sparked a revolution that overthrew the Shah and places Islamic Extremists leaders and Ayotollahs at the head of the Country... This is the beginning to the Islamic Revolution all across the Middle East... Caused by US Political actions to overthrow democractically elected leaders... Look up CIA blacked operation that was released by the Freedom of Information act... Operation AJAX... That basically tells you the whole story...learn it...
Good job on the video!

Yay you were the second comment on this channel ever
Hi Geo History, I have started following your videos and have also subscribed to your channel only a week back and I must say I am very much impressed with your videos and more over I am impressed with your research and the authenticity of the content of each video. I have also checked your other channel which is the French version of the same channel. There is a huge audience that would like to see and listen to your videos in India but the only issue is the language barrier. I am sure even earlier someone definitely would have come up to you with a similar suggestion. Please let me know if you have any such plans and probably I can help you with the Hindi Translation for your channel.
This is the one of the most comprehensive reports of Islamic states activities on KZhead. Thanks for the video! Very good

@Hernando Malinche my friend i live in india which is a home to 330 different religions and not a single civil war has happened in its history , so basically your thought of having two castes or religions together in one place is wrong , we have the largest population of sunni and shia in world , or in other words largest muslim population of 200 million in our home and we live peacefully , its not the religion , its something else which i dont know neither do you , you are basically an amateur , you havent seen the world

9 minutes video, but it would take a whole day to grasp it! So informative and subtle
As a Syrian American, when all of this started, I was 11 years old, living in Damascus, Syria. I stayed there until I was 14 and returned almost every summer to visit despite all security issues. As American.. We should never get involved in the Middle East. Every time we do it, we f up. Destabilizing a government that we don't like will give you open borders with civil war and terrorism. As a Syrian, it's not black and white what happened in Syria… It's complex, but the biggest mistake was arming “the rebels” A decade later, I have friends with all different political views, religions, and ethnicities and horrible memories left with us where each of us has a unique story depending on where we are living; at the end, we lost our childhood and early teens. I just discovered your channel and this video. Thank you for the accuracy it’s rare.
This was perfectly explained, great video. i would have liked if you talked more about the advances of the Syrian government, specifically the capture of Aleppo, Palmyra, deir alzour , and (if you are making a new video then about the liberation of Hama-Homs which will be very soon).
Maybe the best video on the subject I've seen. Others are very superficial, talking about the exact same things over and over. Although there are many crucial factors to explain better the situation that you brought here, you're the only one that mentioned some of these important points. You just won a subscriber, I hope to see this channel grow. It's admirable to know you have this quality content already at only 61 subscribers, just imagine this when you have 500 thousand.
Love your videos man👍
Amazing job!
Best videos ever made on isis and it's impact. Loved it All the best
One flag vs 80 flags and they gathered to fight you under 80 flags, where each flag contained 12 thousand troops. "" (Narrated by Ahmad, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah).
So one flag with 100 to 200 thousand troops against 80 flags with 960 thousand troops? i don't see the fairness here

Well done mate.
IS still has some small territory in Syria, in the desert. I can't believe you left this out / you made it look otherwise.
Enjoy that vid keep them coming 👍🏻
Very good explanation. Thankyou
I imagine they'll probably make a movie one day about the efforts that were made to keep IS from taking over Baghdad. The cooperation between the Iraqi government, police force, and Baghdadi residents essentially will be the driving force to making all of Iraq a much stronger and safer country in the long run. I want to believe the innocent lives lost are not in vain for there will be a better Iraq once it is all over. As an American, I will be praying for this outcome for Iraq
Iraq was a better country before it was invaded.
Its funny because locals in Baghdad were in favor of ISIS in 2014, same in 2006-2007 when Baghdad was fully under insurgent control
A Proper Cuppa how so?
80% literacy rates - much higher than the U.S. People were forced to be educated, maybe under a totalitarian state, but at least they were educated. Presumably, to not fall into a slump like most of the Arab World. Anyway, Oil, Gold, the U.S $ changed all that and the U.S staged an attack to cripple his regime.
A Proper Cuppa US literacy rate is 97% bud.
You hardly even credited the Syrian Army and PMU for their role in defeating ISIS. They liberated most its territory.
Dude, can u repeat what u said , but in better English please. I could'nt understand what u meant to say after the question mark lol
The only thing incorrect is "They liberated most OF its territory", then again I could also look at what you said - u repeat, u said, a comma inbetween two spaces, couldn't with the apostrophe infront of nt, u meant.
Tornadus Osu! Even if I didn't say it in perfect English it's still easy to understand the point.
Tapering Ranger Omg hahaha dude, i didn't reply to u. I replied to another guy who had replied to u. But it seems like he deleted his Comment, so that's why the confusion. Ur english is fine bro.
Tornadus Osu! LOOL dude, there's a misconception here. I didn't reply to Tampering Ranger, or whatever his name is. I replied to another guy who had replied to this comment. But that guy deleted his reply so u guys can't see it anymore lol. I'm not a nitpicker bro. The guy I targeted this comment towards, had written something but I cudn't understand what he was trying to say because his English was really broken.
How about a video about the history of Mongolia? Love the channel man.
Well done! I liked your video.
The part where u show Kurdish inhabited areas at 01:12 is WRONG. No Kurds on Turkey's Black Sea coasts

I feel sorry for Syria 🇸🇾 and Iraq 🇮🇶 bro 😎 isis is false clapihate
@@DavidWhilliams-qu3wt I guess
Wow. Great job.
Nicely explained.
If you read the events carefully, you would find that the jihadists were launched from Iraqi and Syrian prisons and were not part of the revolution. The Syrian revolution was a national revolution demanding freedom and justice, not a religious revolution that calls for Sharia, but Assad succeeded in mixing jihadists with revolutionaries until he brought in external forces in order to maintain his power
The true thing that the rebels are not Isis But as a Syrian a can say it's not a revolt Since the first day they used guns while protesting and used to attack police stations that has nothing to do with protesting I can say as A Syrian
Good video no propaganda at all
congrats dude this first vid is 1 years old👍👌🏻❤
FANTASTIC!
Let us pretend USA totally didn't invade Iraq so that they could privatise their oil fields.
Chandan Bhowal But american movies tell me a diffrent story and they are deffinetley correct.I'm jk ofc..
The Unknown, before or after seizing and securing the weapons of mass destruction?
We just learned about that.. in history class.. in america.. its not like its some cover up
They talked about it in this video. It's not like it's a big secret.
If the US invaded for oil. They're pretty stupid to have given it away to other countries.
Imagine if you lay down 400,000 bodies on a field. Imagine how much ground will be covered. Full of dead people, more than the number of people in your town. As far as your eyes can see. Childrens, mothers, the elders, terrorists, soldiers, rebels are on that field. They could no longer speak of truth that they’d learned
Terang most of them knew no truth.

Thanks a lot for organizing all the information out there into one video. But fix all the little mistakes and I think the graphics were pretty ugly. Don't get me wrong, the video is well made but the aesthetics are bad (colors, use PNG images, spelling mistakes, animation mistakes etc.) It is a bit confusing to see what's going on with the narration. You have really underestimated the role of the Syrian government of Bashar Al Assad, it's like the Kurds did all the job in Syria. You also didn't even mention the Shia militias like the PMU in Iraq who also made most of the job
You're a troll. If it wasn't for kurds isis would've taken complete control of both countries. Iraqi army fled when isis attacked and only started fighting back against isis after kurds had put isis on the backfoot. And also you should change your name to bullshitter instead.
