  • Isis still has a couple pockets in Syria and Iraq but nothing strategic beyond a few neighborhoods in Damascus and the reports of them taking ground are greatly exaggerated. They took four neighborhoods in a major city there are gangs in L.A. that have done better.

In just a few minutes, you have clearly and concisely explained the history behind the creation of IS, and the subsequent war to defeat them. I look forward to more.

  • I must say deep respect for pointing out the areas ISIL actually care about in contrast to desert areas. The media too often portrays rebel territorial control in huge sways, whereas in reality that's not necessarily how this works. Most rebels, insurgents and partisans really only care about controlling the roads, where all the financial incentive is.

    • Yes, well, the pacifists got what they want: an Iraq free from US "occupation." And, in turn, the Iraqis got actually occupied by ISIS. People need to think about the consequences of US actions instead of solely worrying about what they want and desire.

      @PairsOfDuals@PairsOfDuals6 жыл бұрын
    • ParisofDuals, if the Pacifists got what they wanted, we would've never went into Iraq in the first place...actually we would'nt of went into the Middle East since the early 1900s, turn of the century with the idea of preventing middle eastern countries to Nationalize their oil resources, and kick out American and British oil companies like British Petroleum, and then removing their democractically elected leaders, and propping up dictators and puppet governments... Of course if USA goes around doing this like this, we found out there is consequences, its what CIA calls "BLOWBACK" BLOWBACK - he unintended adverse results of a political action. In the middle East the blowback was the Iranian Islamic revolution, that overthrew the American back Iranian Dictator the Shah who tortured and murdered a million Iranians to keep control of Iran... That sparked a revolution that overthrew the Shah and places Islamic Extremists leaders and Ayotollahs at the head of the Country... This is the beginning to the Islamic Revolution all across the Middle East... Caused by US Political actions to overthrow democractically elected leaders... Look up CIA blacked operation that was released by the Freedom of Information act... Operation AJAX... That basically tells you the whole story...learn it...

  • As a Syrian American, when all of this started, I was 11 years old, living in Damascus, Syria. I stayed there until I was 14 and returned almost every summer to visit despite all security issues. As American.. We should never get involved in the Middle East. Every time we do it, we f up. Destabilizing a government that we don't like will give you open borders with civil war and terrorism. As a Syrian, it's not black and white what happened in Syria… It's complex, but the biggest mistake was arming “the rebels” A decade later, I have friends with all different political views, religions, and ethnicities and horrible memories left with us where each of us has a unique story depending on where we are living; at the end, we lost our childhood and early teens. I just discovered your channel and this video. Thank you for the accuracy it’s rare.

Although there are many crucial factors to explain better the situation that you brought here, you're the only one that mentioned some of these important points. You just won a subscriber, I hope to see this channel grow. It's admirable to know you have this quality content already at only 61 subscribers, just imagine this when you have 500 thousand.

  • Imagine if you lay down 400,000 bodies on a field. Imagine how much ground will be covered. Full of dead people, more than the number of people in your town. As far as your eyes can see. Childrens, mothers, the elders, terrorists, soldiers, rebels are on that field. They could no longer speak of truth that they’d learned

  • Thanks a lot for organizing all the information out there into one video. But fix all the little mistakes and I think the graphics were pretty ugly. Don't get me wrong, the video is well made but the aesthetics are bad (colors, use PNG images, spelling mistakes, animation mistakes etc.) It is a bit confusing to see what's going on with the narration. Could upload just the map with a constant time pace? Thanks

  • You have really underestimated the role of the Syrian government of Bashar Al Assad, it's like the Kurds did all the job in Syria. You also didn't even mention the Shia militias like the PMU in Iraq who also made most of the job

    @valesomejoio@valesomejoio4 жыл бұрын
    • You're a troll. If it wasn't for kurds isis would've taken complete control of both countries. Iraqi army fled when isis attacked and only started fighting back against isis after kurds had put isis on the backfoot. And also you should change your name to bullshitter instead.
