Big thanks to @DougBishop and the whole Bingham County team for letting us be a small part of such a huge tragedy. We wish we had more equipment to continue the search but with the conditions we just were out of luck.
Please subscribe to @DougBishop and show him some love for always being willing to drop everything and jump in and help with anything and everything we send his way.
Also thanks to @petersonboys for helping out with their boat as well as Kitties Kitchen for the food!

    • But the body couldn't have been dragged to the edge of the lake? The wind in the days following the disappearance may have dragged it right? I would look at the wind directions in that area in the last few days, I would also do a simulation of a body-like object, size and weight with a built-in locator, and the day after see how much he had moved, if that even happened to move

  • As a life long duck hunter my heart goes out to the family. Every year we hunt very cold conditions and every year we discuss how we will either ditch(unstrap shoulder straps and swim out of the waders) or wear a wader belt in an attempt to float. We have practiced both of these skills in the summer in controlled conditions so we have real experience if the situation should arise. I suggest every cold water waterfowl hunter do the same. Things can happen fast and the more experience you have the better chance you have of surviving.

    @DIYAllied@DIYAllied4 ай бұрын
    • You, and your duck hunting friends are so smart for realizing the dangers you could face while out duck hunting. Then you do training drills on self rescue and rescue of others. I'm retired from the Army National Guard, and we were given "Safety Briefs" for all the hazardous training we had to do to stay proficient. My guard unit parachuted out of airplanes, and we did pre-jump before getting chutes on. This training included how to handle a malfunctioned parachute, on one of my jumps this training saved my life. Keep doing your training, and hopefully spread it around to other hunters.

Parents having to deal with the death of a child is bad enough but when they don’t have the body to put to rest the grieving process stagnant and no peace can be found.

You can tell that this isn't just a job, but they REALLY care about what's going on. I think what sealed it for me was when they recovered the crashed airplane on that mountain earlier this year. Seeing how Diesel Dave even just put his arm of compassion around the widow without saying a word left me speechless. • Thank you for trying. I couldn't believe Doug stayed for so many days. I'm going to be out on the ice with my sonar. I rigged something up to Make it go out like 6 feet and then circle around. I've been trying to come up with an underwater drone but haven't been able to get one yet. Praying his family doesn't have to wait until spring for closure
