The police can catch a speeding vehicle on the 407 within few minutes but they can’t catch a thief stealing my car stolen from my driveway with a GPS tracker? Absolute corruption in Ontario.

Then the enforcement is weak. The authorities need to step up. I still believe that if no shipment can be processed without sighting an original title, the problem will be significantly reduced. The thieves are getting away because its very easy for them to get the vehicles out of country.

they have pretty much the go ahead from cops so they don't care. once at the port nothing no one can do. if you go in the port you get a fine plus lose your car. Theft will only get worst and worst because no one is doing anything.

If the police chief advertises it takes 22 minutes for them to respond or the police communication offices says leave your key at the door then I say they have their hands in the pocket meaning somebody is getting paid by criminals. Why police don’t check any containers with vehicles inside destined for export . Obviously, the bill of lading contains information about the contents of the containers

This is precisely why Canada needs a 2nd Amendment of its own.
How would a 2nd Amendment help in this situation? Even if you had the right to bear arms in this situation you wouldn't have reasonable cause to use it or lethal force. Seems to me that bringing a loaded firearm that you do not intend on using into the situation is a really dumb and unnecessary escalation.

@@AngeloBarovierSD I hear you. But what if it were you whose vehicle was being cased and was about to be stolen, and you saw the whole thing on camera and wanted to stop the thief from stealing? What if that lowlife were actually concealing something, maybe a 6-shooter or a 9mm or even a knife, and wouldn't mind using it on you if you stopped him in his tracks? Who would be at risk then? The thing about situations is that they just happen, and things can go south in a jiffy.

Instead of spending scarce state resources RESPONDING TO or RECOVERING FROM car thefts, why can't the state REQUIRE car manufactures to IMPROVE THE SECURITY of remote keyless entry technology for all automobiles that must be sold to Canadian consumers? Unfortunately if the owner tracks the stolen car and reports it to the police nothing is done,Cops might even tell the owner he is doing wrong by trying to stop the theft , he might get arrested if he is in the Thieves property.

No one has stolen my Corollas for over 12 years. Why? I am NOT trying to impress anyone with the newness of a 'fancy car". It gets around great. It is cheap to insure. No one steals it. and with a 2L. engine, it's cheap on fuel. What the hell MORE do you need?
