Maniac was the first song I heard and tbh I didn't like God's Menu that much at first (I vibe with it now but if it was the first song I'd heard I think I would have not liked it as much)

9:50 Hyunjin's perfectly happy with the "prince" label; in fact in their Japanese track Fam (which essentially is an Unhelpful Guide to Stray Kids in the form of a 3/12 minute banger kzhead.info/sun/m9eHeMWooWZ6oac/bejne.html ), one of the descriptors they use in his verse is indeed "prince". What he's _less_ comfortable with is being praised for his appearance. He was scouted to JYP based purely on his looks, and when he struggled in training, several of his fellow trainees suggested he was _so_ good looking, he could easily coast on just that. And Hyunjin _hated_ that idea. So he _worked his arse off_ and became not _only_ an incredible dancer and choreographer, but also an excellent rapper, a pretty darned brilliant singer, and now he's also honing his songwriting and producing skills. And painting in his spare time. This boy's laurels are not for restin', is what I'm getting at. 11:20 He didn't have any dance training before he joined the _company,_ but he was already a pretty skilled dancer by the time they formed Stray Kids. 14:20 Chan's an odd duck. Chan had been a trainee at JYPE for several years, writing and producing his own music but never successfully debuting, and it was suggested to him that he try assembling his own team. He started with Han and Changbin to form hip-hop trio 3RACHA, and with them as the core songwriting and producing team, the rest of what would become Stray Kids gradually formed around them. 23:35 That's not _entirely_ true. Lee Know _is_ essentially their "dance leader" (in that Chan hands over the reins to him in that context, especially in terms of training the other members on new choreo), and he, Hyunjin and Felix do often _contribute_ to SKZ choreography, but a lot of the choreo work is done by external staff. Correct first read on Chan: hot dork and owns both sides of that. Also: Australian (both he and Felix are Australian single citizens, the children of Korean immigrants to Australia, so they are both fully Australian, with Korean ethnicity/ancestry). There's some clarifications to learn about them and their history, the survival show, their roles and what parts of their productions they actually make, etc, but that all is complicated and just comes with time and exposure. You're doing so, so well even this early in your SKZ journey! I genuinely enjoyed both this and your earlier reaction more than 95% of the reactions I watch. Wow, one of rare moments there are more comments on their looks than their music/MV/dance LOL. Most SKZ reactions I saw either commented on their music/rap/MV, not much on looks hahaha. It is a huge difference, I do enjoy this though. Oh the production of music is correct - 3RACHA (Bang Chan, Changbin and Han), 3 members of SKZ have their hands in all of their music composition and lyrics writing. But dancing/choreography wise, they do have a team of choreographers they work with eg MoTF who choreograph Thunderous/Maniac.
The music is great. Its why I started liking them. The visual appeal is just a bonus.😂😂😊

Since you've mentioned video aesthetics several times, you might appreciate some of SKZ's most aesthetically beautiful or striking videos (eg: Levanter, Scars, Winter Falls, Blueprint, Red Lights), where additional attention has been given to a lot of the atmospheric elements.

Felix's race is 100% asian, but his ethnicity is Australian, he didn't understand know much korean at all but now he's pretty much fluent. Hope you didn't get race and ethnicity mixed up 😭

His race is Asian (race doesn't actually exist, except as a social construct, and is based on outward physical characteristics and geneology but scientifically has a very weak basis) Ethnicity is something much more complex than saying he is Australian. Ethnicity is more about cultural identity and heritage. He and his family are Korean, but his nationality is Australian and he was born and raised there. It might be correct to say that his ethnicity is Korean-Australian. His *nationality* is certainly Australian, though.
No his ethnicity is 100% korean and his nationality is Australian. You can't be ethnically Australian. It's a country, not an ethnicity. That's like saying someone's ethnicity is American. You got ethnicity and nationality mixed up.

great reaction! i just want to correct something, 3racha (bangchan, changbin and han) indeed are the main producers of stray kids music and you can see this by looking at their songs credits (the 3 of them have 100+ songs credited on Komca) however, danceracha don't do the choreo by themselves. skz mentioned that the members do contribute to the choreo, but they work together with the dance team at jyp. I know that thunderous, god's menu, maniac were choreographed by MOTF. I hope to see more skz reactions soon ^^

They are all very good looking but just wait until you learn more about their level of skill and personalities. Bang Chan, Han, and Changbin have been producing music together since before they were Stray Kids, and the group is actually really atypical in being so self produced- those three top the list of most writing credits for their generation with over a hundred. But they're super smart too. Like that section with Hyunjin in Venom that starts 'pew pew pew' has another line 'trap trap trap' and someone pointed out it's both world play on being trapped and his rap used a trap style beat. Their production is known for defining its own genre and being unpredictable and experimental a lot. And you'll find with Stray Kids the more you pull apart the minutiae the more detail and depth of level of thought you find. They also have incredible range and each member is super versatile. Han is known as an ace because he is top level in rapping, vocals, producing, and his dancing is excellent too. Bu most of them can take to any part and shine. They're also an incredibly close group. The survival show thing was actually how they began back in like 2017/18. The company allowed Bang Chan- who was then a trainee, to develop his own group and then they essentially filmed the process of preparing for debut to test the group and see if the company agreed with Bang Chan's choice. They wrote all their own songs for their performances, and they fought like crazy to stay together as a nine (one member unfortunately left a year into them being a group). They are incredibly close and have some of the most beautiful friendships. I think the 'survival show' mentioned in the video was actually Kingdom- a contest against other groups, that they won in 2021. If you check out any of their youtube series like 2Kids Room or SKZ Code you'll find they're so fun and dedicated as well.

Great reactions love it. Thunderous is a song to the haters of stray kids. The haters call their music noisy especially about God Menu and Side Effects. So stray kıds made ther album nam No Easy which is a play on words to noisy and the title track Thunderous is loud also and the term sorikkun (a skilled singer of traditional Korean chang) is used to represent the Stray Kids gents being powerful rappers/singers.
