Men are conditioned to protect our families and that can include hiding the painful truth of an abusive wife. • Austins girlfriends ex husband probably went through the same thing with her as Austin did, thats why he showed up to show his support for Austin and made sure he was ok. The one guy that got bit by his GF,if he did infact give her a black eye, then i dont blame him and im not one for a guy putting his hands on a woman but when you have woman that jumps on you and starts biting and clawing your body all up,then do what you gotta do to defend yourself. These guys are real men, they all took such abuse from their GF/wife and yet they still didnt lay a hand on their woman. I have been in same boat as these guys expect my abuser was a man,if id try to fight back the harder he would fight me back. It doesnt matter if your a woman or a man,if your being physically and mentally abused,it tends to break you and no man or woman deserves to abused. If there is a way out of a situation like that, then take it,dont stay with that person cuz chances are,the situation will not get better... I hope that all these men have moved on and are all doing well.

    • @@cannakage7114 If she's sexually dominating him, or if there are drugs involved (or both really) it can be really hard for a certain type of men to pull away. These women go after your self-esteem, your sense of self-worth. "Austin protect me!" = You're a failure if of a man if you can't protect me. "Austin they're separating us" = You're alone because you let them take me away. They destroy your mind.

    • The issues men face are the fact most police officers (unlike the ones in the video) ignore when men get abused. Most of the time these officers laugh in their faces. By the time men need help, they're most likely dead tbh.

    • @@DefeatedElite It doesn't help that society usually isn't kind to men admitting to this stuff so sometimes even 'friends' and family don't take it seriously when we already know that because of this same societal treatment, men don't usually come out about stuff like this until it's serious.

    • I looked into it a couple of years ago, so the stats may have changed a bit: In 85% of domestic cases, the male is arrested, despite near gender parity in DV incidents (55% male to 45% female). Over 2000 shelters exist for abused women and children in the USA. They will not take in men. Shelters for abused men: 2. There’s a reason a large number of guys stay silent. Seeking help from the state comes with a lot of risk. This video moves the conversation forward a bit, which is excellent. Unfortunately, when these issues are raised around policymakers, arguments get shut down (by activists unsympathetic to men), and then zero progress is made. I hope things will balance out someday, but it’s a long, bumpy road.

  • My grandad had to have his wife committed because she quit taking her lithium. She refused to get her levels checked, lied out her ass about how abusive her husband was. My grandad was THE most gentle person. She was committed after her landlord found her naked, taking apart her apartment while speaking gibberish. After 6 months she was much better. She had a medication change and was managed for a long time afterwards.
