Forgot to mention Sergio has the most hat tricks, scored 5 in one game, won the title in the last minute,most goals for one club in the prem.
Koran phelps he was 3rd or 4th. Which at the end of the day is fair. However I was stating that they never mentioned what I mentioned above.

Henry has 4 PL golden boots. Nobody has more. Rooney and Shearer played in the league much longer than Henry. Henry the only PL player to have 20+ goals and 20+ assists in one PL season

Although maybe not top 5 but I'm very surprised nobody mentioned Michael Owen! Granted he fell off towards the end of his career but let's not forget he won the Ballon d'Or whilst in the Premier League and won the two golden boots at 17 and 18. Phenomenal player in his prime before injuries sadly took their tole.

Rooney was an absolute machine put team and the win before himself. The way he played for the badge was incredible. The time he got injured and played on with a limp making cruical tackles and such was immense.

The thing is, Kane’s career and legacy could be underwhelming depending on what happens in the future.
Exactly. There's so many strikers whose legacies are ruined or at least dampened by how they end their careers. Like how star completely forgot about Rooney because he burned out so much younger than most other players. I feel like building an incredible legacy is about being consistently amazing from start to finish and finishing on a high. I mean imagine the hype Aguero would get after he retired if he'd won City their first Champions league in his last ever game for them? Deserved or not I think everyone would put him over Rooney simply because of how poetic it would be. Like I'm a Chelsea fan and accepted that as a goalscorer Drogba's not up there with the very best in the Prem (although I will say is he was about a hell of a lot more than goals). But he's looked as one of the greatest because of how poetic his career was and that game in Munich.
His legacy could also be like Michael Owen Premier League career.
@@emilezola1458 Owen won the league with united and won some trophies with Liverpool Kane hasn't even got a league cup to his name. If people are so harsh on Gerrard for not winning the league despite winning everything else in club football then Kane doesn't even belong in the conversation. Although he will probably get a move to city and he'll get given the league on a silver platter eventually

@@mason6789 Yes but as I said in my original comment Gerrard has literally won every trophy in club football except the premier League in England but you have people saying he doesn't have the right to be mentioned with the likes of lampard and scholes when there's an argument he may have been better. People have and always will judge on trophies and not numbers on the pitch as sad as it is. Kane needs to win something
There were so many players i just loved to watch, that weren't necessarily the most lethal strikers. Dicanio, Berkamp, Letessier, Zola, Suarez, that were almost magical at times.

Andy Cole was also a very intelligent player.. Great link up play.. He did miss chances.. Becks & Giggs were firing them in the box across that period.
I appreciate what Shaun did here.. He made a mistake in judgement and he was completely honest with it.. He could have said that he forgot but it takes much more courage to accept that he made a judgement mistake in the case of Andy Cole.. People are always bashing him for being bias but his knowledge of the game is much wide than other guys in this show..

When’s the top 10 Wingers of the premier League video coming out?
When we do these lists in 10 years time, Vardy will be on there. 11 games in a row, dragging Leicester to win the league against 5000/1 odds. Maybe not the most technical, but I think the group seriously underrated his achievements. Maybe not as high as 6, but definitely 10th. Put Vardy in Man United or Chelsea in 2016/17 and he pulls 30 a season every season.
This is what I hate. I'd probably put Vardy in my top 10 at the end of his career but you just can't speculate about what he could've done if he'd played for a different club. Some players play better in teams with better players around them. Some play worse with the added pressure. Some look better in worse teams. Some are worse because they get less service. You can overrate or discredit any player ever by talking about ifs. Like if Aguero didn't play for City of Salah didn't play for Liverpool they'd be shit. Or if Vardy had played for Chelsea he'd have outscored Diego Costa. Its just so ridiculous to speculate. Judge each player by what they did not what they could've, should've or would've done.

@@akeemguy7331 I totally agree. Think he'll retire as an all time great for what he's achieved at Leicester and where he's come from. Just don't like people talking about "ifs" when reflecting on a player's career, because you can't judge something that didn't happen.

Just to help Rory out a bit with justifying Rooney over Henry; he is the only player in the prem to have over 200 goals AND over 100 assists. That is honestly supreme as a feat. Not saying he's clear of Henry, but I'd entertain the argument.
He just reached his peak too young, Henry was a different breed though
@@Lmikejagger He did peak early but that's not really an applicable argument here because the amount of time he spent at his peak is still longer than most players they discussed simply because he was elite at such a young age. The argument is better if you're comparing him to players that have been elite for 15+ years, which are only a handful of players in history. Some of the all time greats had relatively short peaks. Zidane arguably didn't become world class until he was 25/26, Ronaldinho's peak was like 6 years etc. By comparison, Rooney was elite for a good 11 years. Henry was also elite for about 10 years.
Rooney played Moore than 200 games more than Henry though
@@jammyjam123 I know, I'm mostly playing devil's advocate. Rooney also contributed to 5 title's compared to Henry's 2. I think there is enough to justify Rooney's selection, I just don't think Rory did a good job of making the argument.

Do you mean in one campaign or all comps? If you're just talking about domestic Premiership goals then, Andy Cole & Alan Shearer's 34 goals in a single league season begs to differ. Insanity!
I love the discussions and debates soo much but if we're adding strikers on metrics other than sheer numbers i.e. Drogba and Bergkamp, then I see no reason why Cantona doesn't make the top 10. 5 League titles in 6 years (p.s 1 was with Leeds). Won United their first league title in 26 years. Might as well throw in this crazy stat whilst I'm at it but he won the league with Marseille in '91, won with Leeds in '92 and then moved halfway through the '93 season and took United from 8th to 1st.

After hearing the top-10 striker debate numerous times over the years from various sources, I've come to the conclusion that you need to be a Chelsea fan to really appreciate Drogba as an elite striker.

@@CrunchyBF 0.41 goals per game in the premier league isn't "elite". 9 goals in 9 finals, however, is. So in that sense, when Chelsea fans talk about Drogba being the ultimate big game player I have to agree - Hence my point. Maybe the issue stems from the fact that rival fans will point to his goals-per-game ratio when discussing all-time best PL strikers and Chelsea fans will point to his finals record and overall positive effect on the dressing room and club culture. Perhaps Drogba was only a GOOD striker, but an ELITE character who personified the winning culture Chelsea began building the same time he joined them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I would say he is 10th because he was a part of the Chelsea transformation
if your argument is goals, drogba was not a stay in the box stiker, did not take penalties and every season went to CAN 1 month, so only by that you can add 10 goals to every season he has played, but even besides that, you gotta understant football to know how crucial, genius and important he was

Jari Litmanen was the next Bergamp at Ajax. Actually Ajax started to win Erediviese titles and went 2 times in a row to Champions League final and won one of them after Litmanen took Bergamp starting spot after he left Ajax. Sadly Litmanen was made of glass and his career at the top was short.
Another player that was pure class whose career was sadly cut short was Luc Nilis. He is on a par from a technical standpoint to Bergkamp. That Bergkamp goal vs Newcastle, there is a clip of Luc Nilis scoring an identical goal and I believe before Bergkamp scored his.

The only blip on Bergkamp is he never really travelled outside the UK because of his fear of flying or his stats would of been even more ridiculous

Michael Owen would easily be on this list over Suarez or Vardy (Maybe Kane too). Probably not over Suarez for career but certainly over him for EPL Would be the only one on this list with a golden ball at home.

50:35 Aguero.. #2 all time scorer (his brace in his final PL appearance tied, then moved him past Rooney into 2nd place), most goals for a single club, most goals by a foreign born player, most hat tricks in premier league history, tied the record most goals in a single match, and that 93:20 title winner in 11-12 changed the destiny of that club forever as it marked the beginner of City's dynasty. The significance of that goal in both Man City's and the Premier League's history... far more important the Drogba header. not even close.

People underrate him as a footballer too, he wasn’t just a finisher. In his prime he could’ve easily played as a midfielder with his pace and tiki taka style. Remember in a game Liverpool were cruising 3-0 vs city him picking up the ball from deep and driving at our defence scoring a screamer and the game finished 3-2, people don’t seem to credit him as a footballer at all. My 3rd most feared player in pl history after ronaldo and hazard
